BANKER'S 41,000 BOOZE FUN

The flash financier spent more than 26,000 on bubbly at an exclusive London club and had to pay the 15,000 cost of clearing up. The Monaco-based banker ordered 49 normal bottles and six magnums of Cristal champagne as well as 13 bottles and two magnums of Dom Perignon for his private party. Not impressed by his bill, he even paid the optional 12.5% service charge of almost 3,000. But the spokesman for the lucky club said: "It might seem a tremendous waste but if someone is willing to pay the bill for the damage they are free to do what they want, as long as it's legal. "They booked a VIP room exclusively and we obviously wanted to make sure no other guests were inconvenienced." He said the trend for "champagne spraying" is quite common in Monaco and St Tropez but he
