FAMILY COPING INDEX CRITERIA 1.

Physical Independence RATING 3 JUSTIFICATION The head of the family is a tricycle driver whose earnings are just enough for a family of four. The mother is a housewife. They have no plans in generating other source/s of income with the upcoming birth of their third child. The family is able to monitor their health through frequent consultation to the health center. The family can determine if there is presence of disease and its effect on their health as a family. The family maintains nutrition of members except for the mother who only eats 2 meals per day. They also recognize the importance of bathing regularly and brushing teeth every after meal. All of them gets adequate rest everyday. The family accepts medical treatments, procedures, preventive measures and public health measures. The family generally maintains a happy environment and has a positive outlook in life. The family is well grounded and close to each other. Though the father spends the day to work and earn money, he makes sure he gets to spend time with his family during Sundays. There is inadequate living space for the whole family, especially since a new member will be added. However, the environment is kept clean and uncluttered allowing for maximized use of living space. The family always visits their health center for follow-up check-ups of each member.
