On any somwati amavaasya( when there is amaavasyaa and also monday) go to peepal tree,offer one janeu to tree and one to Lord Vishnu.Pray to tree and Lord Vishnu.Then do 108 Parikrama of tree,with each Parikrama offer a sweet to tree.While doing Parikrama continuously chant the mantra " OM NAMO BHAGAWATE VAASUDEWAAYA".After doing parikrama again pray to peepal tree and Lord Vishnu and seek forgiveness. Somwati amaavasyaa pooja gives very quick result.Next somwati amaavasyaa is on 16th August 2004.

One more remedy is to feed crows and fish with rice mixed with gee and made into balls on every Saturday.

Remedies For Pitra Dosh The most widely accepted special ritual or puja for Pitra Dosh is NARAYAN BALI PUJA. On any Somwati Amavasya, when the Amavasya is falling on Monday, go to Pipal tree. Offer one Yagyopavit to the tree and second Yagyopavit to Lord Vishnu. Then do 108 Parikrama (move in circles around) of tree. While doing Parikrama, chant the mantra "Om Namo Bhagvate Vaasudevaay Namah" and offer a sweet to the tree with each Parikrama. After finishing the Parikrama, again pray to the Pipal tree and Lord Vishnu and ask forgiveness. Every Saturday, make rice balls by mixing cooked rice and ghee. Feed these rice balls with little sesame seeds spread to crows and fish. Help other people who are performing Shraddh Karma. Donate Gold, Cow to a Brahmin, with the Sankalp stating that this is for the ancestors. Perform Rudrabhishek (Rudra Abhishek) in the name of the KUL or ancestors. Perform Kanya Daan (perform the marriage of a girl), if possible for a Brahmin Kanya. Pinda-Daan to be given at shastra specified places with specific rituals.
