I am very passionate about technology and the telecommunications industry. I am strongly opposed to the unfair practices engaged by the big players of the current telecommunications industry in Canada. I have spent much time discussing and learning about these companies on communities such as DSLreports and with friends. As a result, I believe I am an ideal candidate, because my attention to the industry will allow me to better understand end-consumers of telecom services. I also have strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills, that will allow me to be successful as a Product Lead. I have founded several businesses in the past; most notably Windows7Center.com, which has allowed me to develop a wide skillset. My website only made a few pennies a day, but I solved this problem by building an Excel model to analyze site metrics on visitor behaviour and its correlation with revenue patterns. The models provided me information to tweak and optimize ad campaigns to increase profitability. Within this project, I have been able to develop strong project management and organizational skills. I was also responsible for authoring over 300 news articles and tech tutorials for the website. Writing these articles required heavy research and the ability to organize my findings efficiently in order to write articles of high value. Some of my articles have been cited by large publications such as CNet. Verbal communication skills were also important when negotiating partnerships with external vendors to set up affiliate deals in order to sell products on my websites. These oral and written communication skills I have developed will allow me to effectively communicate my ideas within my team and management. In my past work-term with The Salvation Army, my biggest assignment was reconciling all the VISA accounts for year-end. To help meet the tight deadline, I self-taught myself additional Excel functions outside of work. This allowed me to develop an automated-matching system for thousands of transactions; expediting the process. This demonstrates the strong initiative I take to build on my skills in order to exceed expectations in the work environment. I am an extremely motivated individual determined to exceed expectations, as I have proven by being rated Outstanding (highest overall rating) by my past employer. I am also a strong team player, as I have learned to work with many different kinds of people from my past experiences. I believe this role will allow me to best utilize the skills I have developed.
