Refuelling & Ground Support Utility Vehicle

FuelCat Module

1.0 VEHICLE PLATFORM: SUPACAT 6X6 MK III WITH FUELCAT MODULE Supacat 6x6 Mk 3 - complete with: Winch, Ramps, Trailer light socket, Well Deck, NATO Tow Hitch, Jerrycan Brackets x 2

The FuelCat has been designed to fulfil the task of air-portable and mobile Forward Operations Area Refueller. It is one of the family of FPT designed multi-rle modules based on the SUPACAT 6wheel drive all terrain chassis. The FPT FuelCat provides 1600 - 2000 litres on-board and 2000 litres towed fuel delivery to aircraft and ground vehicles over varying terrain and operational environments. The FuelCat combines the roles of aircraft/vehicle refueller, aircraft tug and gas turbine engine powerstart rig. Its highly manoeuvrable skid-steer allows vehicle access to forward operations areas. The FuelCat is one of a family of FPT designed Modules or pods based on the SUPACAT chassis. The ease and rapidity of variant conversion is due to a simple and robust mounting design. 2.0 Design The main tank can be supplied either as a polymer composite rotational moulding or with further protection as a self-seal option, fully qualified to 7.62 Calibre. Reticulated safety foam is fitted internally as a fire suppressant and to prevent surge. Both constructions are tough, lightweight and extremely damage tolerant. The tank is equipped with a fuel filler, breather, water drain, sight glass and flush-fitting dry-break couplings for fuel delivery. The main tank is mounted onto a common T34 box-section steel frame and secured using a standard strap system. The frame is then clamped onto the vehicle and at the same time locks-in the APU / Battery assembly. The FuelCat module can be made integral to the vehicle. However by disconnecting the electrics and then releasing the forward and aft positive retention clamps, the whole assembly can be removed from the vehicle within minutes ready to accept an alternative role module.

2.10 Towing / Towing Option A Universal tow hitch is fitted as standard to chassis below tailgate with 50mm ball and pin NATO towing attachment is fitted to the tailgate (height - 640 mm / 25"). Two (2) lifting / towing 'eyes' are fitted both at the front and rear of the Supacat as standard. 2.20 Towing Capacity The Supacat is capable of producing approximately 2.4 tonnes of draw bar pull in ideal conditions. 2.30 Floating Capability This ability is limited but the Supacat will float without preparation. Bilge pumps must be fitted. An outboard motor can be fitted to the tailgate. Only open top Supacats can be floated. Load limited to 300 kgs plus driver. 2.40 Component Parts of FuelCat Module 2.41 Main Tank 2.42 Filler Breather Sight Glass Water Drain Fuel Feed Check Valves
