EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Stress is becoming a global phenomenon affecting all countries, all professions and all categories of employees, and society in general. For many years, occupational stress research has focused on demonstrating relations between stressful job conditions, or stressors, and a number of adverse employee reactions, or strains. The researcher has tried to find out the level of stress among the employees of the GSFC Ltd, the reasons behind the employees being stressed and the ways to manage the stress. The variables to be studied by the researcher in the study are Stress level, various factors responsible for stress and Outcomes of work related stress. The underlying principle behind the research is that identification of the level of stress and the factors behind the stress will help the company to bring about a change in its present stress management philosophy. The researcher has adopted Field survey method to collect data. Questionnaire was prepared by the researcher to collect information regarding the variables under study. The questions were carefully chosen, crafted, sequenced and precisely asked to the employees. Based on the data collected an attempt has been made by the researcher to come out with new ways of handling work related stress. The researcher, after undertaking a survey of 64 samples selected randomly and analyzing the response given by them, implementing cross tabulation found that employees who faced stress in the company mainly belonged to the age category of 38-45 years felt their work to be physically strenuous. These employees were from the Poly and recovery department and Spinning and textile Department. The reason they told that the work environment is not proper around their department i.e. it was very noisy and uncomfortable. The Researcher had found that continuous buzz of activity and noise around the office, uneven distribution of work, Unequal salary structure were the factors responsible for stress among the employees of the company. The researcher also marked that company took various steps towards stress management of its employees like Organizing various sports tournaments, Gym facilities, Rest room, Monthly Medical check-ups, seminars on Yoga.

From this study, the researcher concluded that instead of company working behind stress management only, company should also focus on arranging seminars at company level for motivating and changing the attitude of employees towards the company. Company should also organize management games on team building, time management, leadership, etc.
