The Contextual Description of the teacher, learner, subject matter and community: Angela Yedersberger came to her internship with an extensive knowledge base in math and physical education. She is extremely conscientious and had a desire to have a successful internship and facilitate and inspire as many students as possible. She is genuine and caring. She will be a fantastic asset to any staff. Clavet students consist of a broad spectrum of socioeconomic backgrounds. Our population of German students is increasing yearly with new families building in the area. A number of White Cap First Nations students are being bussed as well which adds to the diversity of our student population. At times this plays into our process of discipline and curriculum expectations.

2. The Summary of Extended Practicum performance based on program goals including indicators of proficiency, growth and future goals: Teaching is a complex endeavour that requires years of practical and applied experiences, which is why it is impressive that Angela Yedersberger had developed many of the characteristics of a Master Teacher. Angela taught 8 weeks with full time responsibilities and handled herself as an intern like a seasoned veteran. Angela was enthusiastic about teaching, her subject matter (no matter the grade or content), and students. Her passion for teaching is obvious to the students and staff of Clavet Composite School. Angela took great interest in the students as individuals. Ms. Yedersberger demonstrated this by arriving early to school and chatting with students before class, during breaks and after school. Along with her teaching responsibilities, Angela coached a Jr. Girls volleyball team throughout September and October. Ms. Yedersberger developed a positive rapport with the students, which carried over into the classroom. Students were excited to try new things while under Angelas care and responded enthusiastically to her lessons. Angela made learning fun by adding interesting and practical examples by using a variety of technological mediums in her lessons that grabbed the attention of her students. Ms. Yedersberger encouraged her students to do their personal best and developed a safe and comfortable environment for all students to learn. Angela motivated students to work productively and assume responsibility for their own learning. As a result, Angela was able to maintain appropriate classroom behaviour without disrupting instruction; a characteristic of a Master Teacher. Angela was sensitive to the students academic and personal welfare. She paid close attention to the behaviour of her students in and out of the classroom and was aware of each students academic performance. Ms. Yedersberger sought out struggling students and invited them for extra tutorial help and encouragement. Angela continually asked herself if there was a more effective way to cover and present the subject matter in an interesting manner so it remained relevant to her students. Angela is a very personable caring individual. She is bright, knowledgeable, well-organized, extremely prepared and incredibly hardworking. As stated above, I believe Angela has the potential to become a Master Teacher. I believe she will continually strive to be the best possible teacher no matter the content, grade level or class composition. Angela strives for excellence. I highly recommend Angela Yedersberger for a teaching position with any school division and would welcome the chance to provide more information should it be required.

TEACHER CANDIDATES SELF-ASSESSMENT INCLUDE INDICATORS OF PROFICIENCY, GROWTH AND FUTURE GOALS Teaching is definitely a different kind of profession than any other I have ever experienced. I love it! It definitely has been a challenging several weeks with all the lesson plans I developed, creating a Professional Guide Portfolio and raising two children at home. I appreciate all the opportunities I was given at Clavet Composite and enjoyed the ability to learn something new every day. I was able to teach full-time for 8 weeks and performed all tasks to the best of my ability. My internship included the creation of unit plans, daily lesson plans, writing and correcting exams (including adapted exams), completing my Professional Growth Portfolio and coaching the grade 7 volleyball team. Reflection on lesson plans was a tool I utilized to ensure student engagement and learning while my calendar agenda ensured proper time management. I have been given the opportunity to create lesson plans that include FNIM material and have received positive feedback from the students about the material as well as suggestions for future classes. Future goals that I would set for myself would include researching FNIM material that could be used for my future lesson plans and even more involvement in extracurricular activities. My students really enjoyed the FNIM material I incorporated within my lesson plans and have had FNIM students express to me that I am one of their favorite teachers. My involvement with coaching the Junior Girls volleyball team helped to build a great relationship with my players and I would like to continue to be involved in extracurricular cognizant of its importance. I have had many opportunities during my internship and have grown as a teacher, mother and student. As a teacher, I incorporated a variety of assessment strategies to monitor student progress and learning through daily quizzes, homework checks, and weekly assessments. I planned differentiated, adapted and modified instruction. I provided extra tutoring sessions during noon hour for at-risk students who had trouble during exams

due to their socio-economic status or issues at home. I created bonus questions and assignments to challenge top math students. As a mother, I have learned how to find a balance to ensure the success of both my family and students. As a student, I have gained an appreciation for everything teachers are able to undertake. Upon returning to university, I will be even more thankful for everything my professors accomplish in my classes. I have been extremely fortunate during my internship. I have been given an opportunity to co-teach with Mr. Scott McBean because we share a co-operative teacher. I have been able to teach a variety of different classes and students. My co-operative teacher has led me to grow into my own teacher identity through constructive criticism and by emphasizing ways to improve. I will miss my students next semester while at school but look forward to visiting them in the near future. My experience at Clavet Composite has created great excitement within me for my new profession as a teacher and I am looking forward to returning to teaching after I have completed my classes next semester.
