The bed can become your worst enemy. There are many people trapped by the bed. Sleep can be your worst enemy. Everyone needs sleep, but many sleep too much, and many are spiritually asleep. You must win the battle of the bed if you want to succeed in life. You must be able to rise and pray when necessary.

Proverbs 19:15 Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep; and an idle soul shall suffer hunger. The bible talks about the dangers of slothfulness. Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep. Matthew 26:40 And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour? The disciples were sleeping when they should have been praying. The battle of the bed will translate into a lack of prayer. Sleep can open the door for the spirit of poverty Proverbs 6:9-11 How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? when wilt thou arise out of thy sleep? Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth, and thy want as an armed man. Proverbs 20:13 Love not sleep, lest thou come to poverty; open thine eyes, and thou shalt be satisfied with bread.

Deep sleep can be the judgment of God Isaiah 29:10 For the LORD hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes: the prophets and your rulers, the seers hath he covered. Watchmen should not be asleep Isaiah 56:10 His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber. Sleep can open you up to temptation Luke 22:46 And said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. 1 Thessalonians 5:6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. There is a spirit of slumber Romans 11:8 (According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day. Many look to the bed for comfort: Job 7:13 When I say, My bed shall comfort me, my couch shall ease my complaints; Use the bed to meditate in the night watches: Psalm 63:6 When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches. David won the battle of the bed. Could this be the secret to so many of his victories?

Psalm 132:1-5 Lord, remember David, and all his afflictions: How he sware unto the LORD, and vowed unto the mighty God of Jacob; Surely I will not come into the tabernacle of my house, nor go up into my bed; I will not give sleep to mine eyes, or slumber to mine eyelids, Until I find out a place for the LORD, an habitation for the mighty God of Jacob. Psalm 119:62 At midnight I will rise to give thanks unto thee because of thy righteous judgments. Psalm 119:148 Mine eyes prevent the night watches that I might meditate in thy word.
