INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATES: ANSWER all the six(6) QUESTIONS . Question1 Goals are things that you want to achieve as you pursue a certain course of action. Goals are important for an open and distance learner like you because they help to motivate you to do your work, attend classes and study for examinations. This will increase your chance of success. However, most people do not achieve their goals because they fail to set effective goals and/or they do not take any action to achieve their goals. They drift aimlessly. a)List and describe at least 5 characteristics of effective Goals in your Life? 1. Meaningful to You This seems odd, why would you set a goal that isnt meaningful? But as a coach, I see people do this all the time! Make sure its important to YOU and not your boss, your sales leader, your spouse, or your company. If its going to be effective, it needs to matter to YOU! 2. Specific, Measurable and has a Due Date Goals often fall short in this area. Things like, Im going to lose weight, are not specific, measurable, or date specific! Losing 10 pounds by March 31 and maintaining that average weight through December 31 is a goal. 3. TheRight Size This means its big enough that it makes you stretch, but small enough that you can wrap your mind around it. 4. Written Down An idea is not really a goal until you write it down. Writing down your goals makes the goal concrete, makes you own it, and allows you to do #5, which is. 5. Posted and Reviewed Put your goal somewhere where you can see it. I find it most effective to simplify your goal into a number, a picture, or anything that will trigger your subconscious toward your goal. You dont need to re-analyze your goal every day, simply view it again (which is why it is review and not reanalyze!

b)List at least four(4) examples of short-term Goals and four examples of Long-term goals pertain to your study at OUM.

Question 2 Stress is a very natural and important part of our everyday life. With a little bit of stress we achieve what we have set to do for the day or week. During times of stress, both the body and the mind are affected. Our body is designed to react to two types of stress. We have to learn about stress in order to help our bodies return to a more relaxed state. However, stress must not be ignored. Early warnings like any significant changes in your usual pattern of behavior can indicate that something might be wrong. a).List and describe the common types of stress. b) .State at least 5(Five)symptoms of stress . c) .What are themost common causes of stress that you as a self-managed learner could encounter during your studies. d).Give and explain strategies for managing stress, and for coping with everyday problems anxiety. e).Write downfive (5) important points that can help you overcome anticipatory anxiety.
