problem sets: There will be four problem sets. They will be posted on Stellar on Thursdays, due the following Thursday, no later than 12:45 pm (before the lecture) in room 2-106. Please staple the pages together and clearly write your name, your recitation section, and the name of your recitation instructor on your problem set solutions.
cooperation policy: Cooperation on problems is permitted, but all solutions must be written up independently and you must list your collaborators on the problem set.

exams: One one-hour midterm exam. One two-hour nal exam.


make-up exam policy: If you fail a midterm exam you will be permitted to take one make-up exam during the following week; you will be notied by email about this possibility. Make-ups for failed exams can boost your score only up to lowest passing score. Make-ups for missed exams are allowed only under serious circumstances beyond students control (such as a medical emergency) or a prior arrangement (at least 24 hours before the regular exam) in room 2-108. There will be no make-ups for the Final Exam!

Students who do not pass 18.01A Exam 1 (or its makeup) must transfer to 18.01. tutoring: MondayThursday 3:005:00 pm, 7:309:30 pm, room 2-102. grading: The grade is based on a cumulative total score. For this, each problem set counts approximately 40 points, one-hour exam is 100 points, and two-hour exam is 200 points. questions: Concerns about homework, grading, exams: rst check the Stellar website then go see your recitation instructor.
