Camera notes:
Do not store or use the camera n the followng types of locatons: In the ran, very humd and dusty places. In a place where the camera can be exposed drectly to the sunlght or subject to hgh temperature, e.g. Insde a closed car n summer. In a place where the camera s subject to a hgh magnetc field, e.g. near motors, transformers or magnets. Do not place the camera on a wet surface or places where drppng water or sand may come n contact wth the camera, whch may cause rreparable faults. If the camera wll not be used for a long perod of tme, we suggest you remove the battery and the memory card from the camera and keep them n dry envronment. If you carry the camera suddenly from a cold locaton to a warm place, mosture may condense nsde the camera. We suggest you wat for a whle before turng on the camera. No compensaton for loss of recordngs. Loss of recordngs cannot be compensated for f a malfuncton of your camera or recordng meda, etc, makes the playback of recordngs not possble. Do not expose the batteres to water, and take partcular care to keep the termnals dry. Do not heat the batteres or throw them nto a fire. Do not attempt to deform, dsassemble or modfy the batteres. Keep the batteres out of reach of babes and small chldren. In cold locatons, battery performance deterorates and the tme for whch they can be used shortens markedly.

Memory card notes:


When usng a new memory card, or a memory card has been ntalzed by a PC, be sure to format the card wth your dgtal camera before usng t. To edt mage data, copy the mage data to the PCs hard dsk first. Do not change or delete the folder names or file names n the memory card from your PC, as ths may make t mpossble to recognze or msnterpret the orgnal folder or file n your camera. The photos taken by ths camera are stored n the autogenerated folder n SD card. Please do not store photos that are not taken by ths model of camera, as ths may make t mpossble to recognze the pcture when the camera s n playback mode. Please do not expose the camera to harsh envronments such as mosture or extreme temperatures, whch may shorten the lfe of your camera or damage the batteres.

1. Open the battery compartment. 2. Insert the enclosed batteres nto the battery slot n the correct drecton.

3. Insert an SD/SDHC card (not ncluded) nto the memory card slot as shown. 4. Close the battery compartment.

Optonal SD/SDHC cards are not ncluded. The use of 64MB to16 GB memory cards from recognzed manufacturers such as SanDsk, Panasonc and Toshba s recommended for relable data storage. To remove the SD/SDHC card, open the battery compartment and gently push the card to release t. Pull the card out carefully.

Turnng On and Off


Press the Power button to turn the camera on. To turn off the camera, press the Power button agan.

Power Button

When the camera s turned on, t wll be at the same shootng mode based on the last use. You can press the Mode button to select a dfferent one after t s on. When usng the camera for the first-tme, the language settng page wll appear.

Usng the Mode Button


The AgfaPhoto camera provdes a convenent Mode Button that allows you to swtch between dfferent modes wth ease. Press Left/Rght button to choose the mode, press to select. All the avalable modes are lsted as follows:

Description
Swtch to take stll pctures n automatc mode. Swtch to capture a sequence of shots and sttch them together nto a panoramc photo. Swtch to take stll pctures by reducng the blurs caused by hand shake, under low lumnance, or slow shutter speed. Swtch to take stll pctures n 20 dfferent scene types by your choce. Swtch to record vdeos. Swtch to take portrat pctures under normal condton.

Settng Date/Tme and Language


The Date/Tme and Language setup wll automatcally appear when the camera s turned on the first tme. To set the language, date, and tme, go to the followng setup optons n the Setup menu. Language Date / Tme To access the Setup menu, do the followng: 1. Press Power to turn the camera on. button, swtch among the settng 2. Press the menus by usng the Left/Rght button to select the correspondng basc settng menu.

1. Use the Up/Down button to go to the Language. Then press the Right button to enter the settng. 2. Use the Left/Rght buttons to select the desred language. 3. Press the button to confirm the settng.

About the LCD Screen


When you turn the camera on, varous cons are shown on the LCD screen to ndcate the current camera settngs and status. To learn more about the dsplayed cons, see LCD Screen display on page 24. If the LCD montor s damaged, take partcular care wth the lqud crystal n the montor. If any of the followng stuatons arse, take the recommended mmedate acton ndcated below: If lqud crystal comes n contact wth your skn, wpe the area wth a cloth and then wash thoroughly wth soap and runnng water. If lqud crystal gets nto your eye, flush the affected eye wth clean water for at least 15 mnutes and then seek medcal assstance. If lqud crystal s swallowed, flush your mouth thoroughly wth water. Drnk large quanttes of water and nduce vomtng. Then seek medcal assstance mmedately.

LCD Screen notes:


Extremely hgh-precson technology has been used to manufacture the LCD screen so that most of the pxels are operatonal for use. However, there may be some mnute ponts (black, whte, red, blue or green) that constantly appear on the LCD screen. These ponts are normal n the manufacturng process and the recordng s not affected n any way.

Avod exposng the LCD screen to water; please remove any mosture on the LCD screen wth a soft dry cleanng cloth.

Usng the Zoom Functon


Your camera s equpped wth two types of zoom functons: optcal zoom and dgtal zoom. Press the Zoom button of the camera to zoom n or out on the subject whle takng pctures. Zoom button

Auto mode s the easest mode to take photos. Whle operatng n ths mode, the camera automatcally optmzes your photos for best results. To start shootng, do the followng: 1. Press Power to turn the camera on. 2. In the Mode menu, select the Auto mode (
AUTO

).

3. Compose your pcture on the LCD screen and press the Shutter button halfway to focus on the subject. 4. The LCD screen wll show green focus frame after the subject s n focus. 5. Press Shutter fully to capture the mage. Zoom ndcator (See Dgtal Zoom on page 44)

When the optcal zoom reaches ts maxmum value, release the Zoom button then press t agan for t to go further at the dgtal zoom. Zoom ndcator s hdden after the ) for the Zoom button s released. The screen shows ( current zoom status.

Basc Functons Menu


The Basc Functon Menus of the camera nclude Flash, Self-tmer, Macro Capture, and Exposure Compensaton. The sutable functon settng can let you shoot better photos. Set the basc functons as per the followng steps: 1. Pull up the Basc Functon Menus by pressng Rght/ Flash button.

4. Press Left/Rght button to select the basc functons requred to set, press Up button to enter the settng screen for selectng basc functons, or press to confirm the settngs and ext the screen. button

Flash
2. Press Left/Rght button to select the settngs of the requred functon. 3. Press button to confirm the settngs and ext the menu, or press Down button to enter the selecton screen of Basc Functon. Flash : Auto Camera flash goes off automatcally based on exstng lght condtons. Flash : Red-eye reducton The camera exposes a bref flash before the pcture s taken to reduce red-eye effects. Flash : Forced flash Flash always goes off.

Flash : Forced off Flash s turned off. Flash : Slow Synchro Ths allows you to take pctures of people at nght that clearly show both your subjects and the nght tme backdrop. Flash : Red-Eye + Slow Synchro Usng ths mode for slow synchro shots wth redeye reducton.

Macro Mode
Macro : On Select ths to focus on subjects 5cm from the lens. Macro : Off Select ths opton to dsable Macro.

Exposure Compensation
The exposure compensaton allows you to adjust the lght exposure value and shoot the best photo.

Self-timer
Self-tme : 2 sec A sngle pcture s shot 2 seconds after the Shutter button s pressed. Self-tme : 10 sec A sngle pcture s shot 10 seconds after the Shutter button s pressed. Self-tme : Off Dsable the self-tmer.

The adjustable range of exposure value s from EV -2.0 to EV+2.0.

Advanced Functons Menu


The Advanced Functons Menu of the camera nclude Image Sze, Image Qualty, Whte Balance, Image Color and ISO etc. The sutable functon settng can let you shoot better photos and vdeos. Set the advanced functons as per the followng steps: 1. Pull up the Advanced Functon Menus by pressng button.

4. Press Left/Rght button to select the advanced functons requred to set, press Up button to enter the settng screen for selectng advanced functons, or press button to confirm the settngs and ext the screen.

2. Press Left/Rght button to select the settngs of the requred functon. 3. Press button to confirm the settngs and ext the menu, or press Down button to enter the selecton screen of Advanced Functons.

WB (White Balance)
The Whte Balance allows you to adjust the color temperature under dfferent lght source to ensure fathful color reproducton.

ISO
The ISO functon allows you to set the senstvty of the camera sensor based on the brghtness of the scene. To mprove the performance n darker envronments, a hgher ISO value s requred. On the other hand, a lower ISO value s needed when n brght condtons. Pctures at hgher ISO wll naturally have more nose than those at lower ISO.

The optons of Whte Balance nclude: WB : Auto WB : Daylght WB : Cloudy WB : Fluorescent WB : Fluorescent CWF WB : Incandescent WB : Manual (Press the shutter button to set WB) The optons of ISO nclude automatc, 80, 100, 200, 400, 800 and 1600. The avalable ISO values vary on dfferent camera models.

Quality
The qualty settng adjusts the compresson rato of the mages. Hgher qualty settngs gve better photos, but wll take up more memory space.

Size
The sze settng refers to the mage resoluton n pxels. A hgher mage resoluton allows you to prnt that mage n larger szes wthout degradng the mage qualty.

The pcture qualty of mage has totally three optons: Qualty : Best Qualty : Fne Qualty : Normal The bgger the number of recorded pxels s, the better the mage qualty becomes. As the number of recorded pxels becomes smaller, you wll be able to record more frames on a memory card.

Color
The color settng allows you to add artstc effects drectly when takng pctures. You can try dfferent color tones to alter the mood of your pctures.

Panorama mode
Panorama Mode allows you to create a panoramc pcture across a dstant scene. The camera wll automatcally compose a panoramc pcture usng the ndvdual shots that you take. Follow these steps to create a panoramc pcture: 1. Press the mode button to select Panorama Mode. 2. Use the Left/Right buttons to specfy the drecton of pcture takng, and then n 2 seconds the panoramc sequence wll commence automatcally. 3. Compose the first vew of the panoramc pcture on the LCD screen and press the Shutter button to capture. 4. After the first shot s taken, the sem-transparent mage of the first shot wll appear at the edge of the screen. You can use ths mage to compose your pcture before you press the Shutter button to capture and finsh manual sttchng.

5. The camera wll then sttch the pctures nto a panorama automatcally. 6. Press the button to enter Playback mode and revew the panorama result. After takng a Panoramc pcture press the func/ok button to save and ext or press the Delete button to cancel and ext. Flash Mode, Self-tmer, Macro Mode, and Exposure Compensaton are dsabled on Panorama Mode. Pctures cannot be deleted, nor the zoom adjusted untl the seres s finalzed. Panorama Mode can sttch 2 or 3 maxmum pctures.

Scene mode
In Manual Scene mode, you can select from a total of 20 scene types to match your needs. You just need to select the rght scene for the occason and the camera wll automatcally adjust to the optmal settngs for you. Press the button, select the Scene Mode menu wth the Left/Rght button, and the LCD screen wll show the figure as below. Select a scene usng the Left/Rght button and press the button. The Trm settng allows you select an area of the photo you want to keep and then save t as a new photo. To trm a pcture: 1. Select the Trim settng from the menu. 2. Use the zoom buttons and navgaton buttons to adjust the trmmng box to fit the locaton and sze of the new pcture.

Resize
Ths settng allows you to resze a pcture to a specfed resoluton, and saves t as a new pcture. 1. Select the Resize settng from the Playback menu as descrbed prevously.

Connectng to a PC
Use the USB cable and ArcSoft software (CD-ROM) suppled wth your camera to copy (transfer) pctures to a computer.

Transferring files to your PC


The computer wll automatcally detect the camera as a removable drve. Double-clck My Computer con on the desktop to locate the removable drve and to copy the folders and files n the drve to a drectory on your PC as you would copy any typcal folder or file. By usng the USB cable, you can transfer the captured photos and vdeos to a PC. Follow the steps below to connect the camera to a PC. 1. Start a computer to whch ArcSoft software has been nstalled. 2. Make sure both the camera and PC are turned on. 3. Connect one end of the suppled USB cable to the USB/ AV OUT port on your camera. 4.
