Brushed Metal Name Plate

1. From the File menu, select New then Blank file. 2. In the Dialog box, enter a Width of 1600 px, Height of 400 px, resolution of 300 px, and Background content of White. 3. Zoom the view by pressing cmd/ctrl +. 4. From the Toolbox, select the Gradient tool. 5. In the Options bar, click the down arrow and select Copper. 6. Starting at the top left of the image, click and drag a line to the bottom right extending the line off the image. 7. From the Filter menu, select Noise then Add Noise. 8. In the dialog box, adjust the slider to 20%, Uniform distribution, and check the monochromatic box. 9. From the Filter menu, select Blur then Motion blur. 10. In the dialog box, set the Angle to 0 and the Distance to 70-80. 11. From the Toolbox, select the Horizontal type text tool. 12. In the Options bar, click the down arrow and select a Font. 13. Adjust the size to 60 pt and centre text. 14. Click on the image and type in your desired text. 15. In the Toolbox, select the Move tool and center your text. 16. In the Effects tab, select the Layer styles icon. 17. Click the drop down box and select Bevels. 18. Click on the Simple sharp outer bevel, then click Apply. 19. In the Layers palette, double-click the fx on the text layer. 20. In the Dialog box, tick the Down box and adjust the size of the bevel to 7 px. 21. In the Layers palette, unlock the background layer by double-clicking on the lock. 22. In the Toolbox, select the Simple rounded rectangle shape tool. 23. In the Options bar, select a 30 px radius. 24. Draw a rectangle around your letters, leaving some padding. 25. In the Layers palette, drag the Shape layer below Layer 0. 26. Holding the alt/opt key on your keyboard, click the line between the shape layer and layer 0. 27. In the Layers palette, click on the Text layer. 28. Click the Adjustment layer icon (B&W cookie tool) then choose Hue/Saturation. 29. In the Adjustments tab, tick the colourise box then adjust the hue and saturation sliders to the desired colour. 30. From the File menu, select Save as then name your project and choose PNG from the format drop down box. 1. Open the name plate PNG file. 2. From the Toolbox, select the Move tool. 3. Drag the name plate on to the image.
