Pre-Promotion Test of ES to Engineer/AM/ABM NEW PAPER PATTERN

By replacing old pattern, the new paper pattern containing modern telecom trends for pre-promotion test of Engg. Supervisors (Technical) (B-11) to Assistant Engineer / SDO (B-17) have been introduced. There shall be three parts of the paper i.e Part-I, Part-II & Part-III. Part-III relates to specialization which is divided into following four groups: Group-A: Group-B: Group-C: Group-D: Access Network Switching Network Transmission Network IT (Information Technology)

For taking test, the candidate shall have to choose anyone group of the above specialization with due care by ticking and signing relevant box given in column15 of the prescribed application form. However, once specialization is selected, no subsequent change is permissible. During test, part-III of related specialization will be delivered to the concerned candidates. The candidates will have to score at least 50% marks to qualify the exam. The paper pattern is further elaborated as under. Part-I: Accounts, Administration and Management. Compulsory part for all candidates. This part shall comprise of 50 multiple choice questions each carrying 2 marks. Time allowed will be 60 minutes. Part-II: Introduction to Telecom Technologies It is compulsory for all groups. It shall include general introduction to all telecom technologies but not in depth. This part shall comprise of 50 multiple choice questions each carrying 2 marks. Time allowed will be 60 minutes. Part-III: Specialization in Telecom Technologies Each group shall be given paper for their respective specialization, so the part III shall be of four types. Type-I: Type-II: Type-III: Type-Iv: Access Network (Specialization) Switching Technology (Specialization) Transmission Technology (Specialization) IT (Information Technology) (Specialization)

This part shall comprise of 50 multiple choice questions each carrying 2 marks. Time allowed will be 60 minutes.
