The Chairman, Subang jaya Municipal Council, 34500 Subang Jaya, Selangor. 21 February 2012

Dear Sir, Stray Dogs There is a serious problem concerning the stray dogs in my housing area, Taman Muda. On behalf of the residents, I wish to draw your attention to this problem and request your immediate action. 2. We residents have been tolerating this problem which recently has become

unbearable. The stray dogs are daily nuisance. 3. The stray dogs are a threat to our safety. They chase and attack passers-by.

The postmen especially, are their favourite targets. We are afraid that the postmen might not deliver our letters regularly if this persists.

4.

I personally have witnessed the stray dogs chasing school children waiting for

the school bus. One child has been bitten. His parents took him to the hospital for immediate medical treatment. 5. The dogs also scavenge our dustbins. As a result, rubbish is strewn all over our

roads. At times, the dogs create a lot of noise at night which discrupts everyones sleep. 6. I have tried getting the RSPCA to take away the dogs. Unfortunately, the

RSPCA authorities have told me that they do not have enough places for the stray dogs in their premise. I therefore request for an immediate action by the Municipal Council as the dogs pose a threat to the security and health of my family and the rest of the residents here.

Thank you.

Yours faithfully,

(ZALINA BINTI RASHID)

Rajvind Gill, 10, Jalan Jujur, Taman Bukit Dahlia, 68000 Ampang, Selangor

The Director, Ampang Jaya Municipal Council, Bangunan Mentari, Ampang Jaya, 68000 Selangor. 23 Februari 2012

Dear Sir, Poor Maintenance of Taman Bukit Dahlia I am writing this letter on behalf of the residents of Taman Bukit Dahlia to complain about the dismal conditions we have been putting up with for the past three months. 2. One of the main grouses of the residents concerns uncollected rubbish. Initially,

rubbish was collected three times a week. However, since June this year the garbage collectors have only been coming once a week. Our litter bins are always filled to the brim and we have no choice but to leave our bags of rubbish next to the bins. The rotting waste causes a terrible stench. Worse still, stray cats and dogs scatter the rubbish while looking for food. This is not only unpleasant but also unhealthy. 3. Most of the drains in Taman Jayadiri are clogged with rubbish resulting in the

water becoming stagnant. It is not uncommon to see plastic bags, bottles and dry leaves in these drains. There is an urgent need to clear these drains as the stagnant

water is an ideal breeding ground for mosquitoes . The residents are worried as there has been a sharp increase in dengue cases in the last two months. 4. The street lights along several roads are also not working . This has caused

several accidents at night , mostly involving motorcyclists as they are unable to see in the dark. Unfortunately, the dark streets have also led to another problem an increase in crime. Several residents, especially women, have fallen victim to snatch thieves. 5. The one and only playground in our area is also not well-maintained . The grass

is overgrown as it has not been cut for almost three months. Besides, the playground equipment is damaged . Many of the see-saws and swings have been spoiled by vandals. I hope the council will look into our complaints and take prompt action to solve our problems.

Thank you.

Yours faithfully,

Dear Mr. Halim, Application for the Post of Assistant Computer Programmer I am applying for the position of assistant computer programmer, which was advertised Februari 20 with the career services centre at The Putra World Trade Centre. The position seems to fit very well with my education, experience, and career interests. 2. According to the advertisement, your position requires excellent communication

skills, computer literacy, and a B.S. degree in Computer Science. I will graduating from University Malaya, Malaysia this month with the required degree. 3. I understand the position also requires a candidate who is team-and detail-

oriented, works well under pressure, and is able to deal with people in departments troughout the firm. These are skills I developed both in my course work and as a parttime programmer in the Malaysia Student Finance Centre.

4.

My background and goals seem to match your requirements well. I am confident

that I can perform the job effectively, and I am excited about the idea of working for a dynamic and nationally recognized investment management firm. 5. If you would like to schedule an interview or otherwise discuss my interest in this

position, please call me at 013-7000280. I will be available at your convenience.

The Manager, Inter Town Bus Services, Jalan Kiambang, 81700 Pasir Gudang, Johor. 24 Februari 2012

Dear Sir, Irregular Bus Services I am a student of Sekolah Menengah Taman Nusa Damai. As school bus service is not available in my area, I depend solely on the public bus run by your company. 2. I must say your drivers are careful and polite. Unfortunately, of recent, the

services have become irregular.

3.

When I started using your bus services, a bus was available every twenty

minutes. Then, I noticed it took half an hour for a bus to come by. Now, it takes almost three quarters of an hour to get a bus. 4. I am at the bus stop by half past six every morning. I manage to get a bus only

about 7.15 a.m. or even later. This has caused me to be late to school. 5. The school authorities do not accept the bus being late as an excuse. They have

told me firmly that I have to find an alternative which is almost impossible for me. I hope you will look into this complaint in a positive manner and take quick action to rectify the situation. I wish to offer my thanks for your co-operation and efficient service.

Yours sincerely,

Principal, Sekolah Menengah Nusa Damai, 81700 Pasir Gudang, Johor. 1 March 2012

Dear Sir, The Conditions and the Services Provided by the School Canteen

I would like to make a formal report on the conditions and the services provided by the school canteen at Sekolah Menengah Nusa Damai. 2. I am a form four student and am presently staying at the school hostel. I am

happy and proud to be studying here if not for the problems I am facing here at the school canteen. 3. The canteen workers do not practice cleanliness in mind and body. Specifically,

they are very ill mannered and speak vulgar language. For instance, they do not wash their hands before handling food, they spit everywhere, their hands are covered with sores and their fingernails are long and dirty.

4.

There are inadequate chairs and tables for the students to sit and eat their food.

To illustrate, students can be seen sitting, squatting and eating by the drain, on the canteen floor and on the stairways. Besides, the chairs and tables are old and rotten and not in good condition. For instance, most of the wooden chairs are infested with termites and the plastic chairs are either broken or torn. 5. The food is very expensive, stale and not nutritious. For example, a small plate of

nasi lemak costs RM 2.00. a bowl of curry mee costs RM 1.50, and a slice of papaya cost 60 cents. Also, the food is usually tasteless and stale because it was cooked overnight. 6. Lastly, there is no water for the students to wash their hands before and after

taking food. There are about five sinks around the canteen but they are not functioning, for there is no water supply. In fact, the sinks are clogged with rubbis and rotten food. 7. I hope to get a fast, prompt and satisfactory response from the school

management for the betterment of our students. Thank you.

Your student,
