BE THERE AND SUPPORT OUR PRO-LIFE CONGRESSMEN AGAINST THE RH BILL! Dear Prolifers,

The leadership of the House of Representatives is scheduling a crucial vote

on the controversial reproductive health (RH) or responsible parenthood and population development bill. Majority Leader Neptali Gonzales II told reporters last March 7, that he has suggested to Speaker Feliciano Belmonte Jr. that the House vote to terminate debates before Congress goes on its five-week Lenten break on March 23. The Speaker has already agreed to my suggestion, he said.
He said the debates have been going in circles, but still, there are about 20 more House members wanting to be enlightened about the measure. He said that a vote to terminate plenary debates means the RH bill has a chance of eventual approval. http://www.philstar.com/Article.aspx?articleId=784540&publicationSubCategoryId=63 With this in mind, if the RH proponents can gather the votes to cut off debate, it stands to reason that they also will have the votes to pass the bill, so this may be our last chance to prevent passage in the House. We have to plan our next moves well and double our efforts if we are to see this bill defeated.

Our efforts to get in touch with legislators and provide them with materials that provide logical, legal, and constitutional arguments against the RH bill have been effective in getting them to our side, as well as establishing good relations with them. Needless to say, we have been praying unceasingly for the culture of death to be defeated and for life to prevail. Many of us are ardently praying for the success of the pro-life congressmen in defeating the bill. Many have also started to become more active in bringing the arguments against

the RH bill to their parish churches and lay organizations. Many bishops have also pledged their support by saying that they will try to talk to their congressmen and convince them to abandon their support for RH. While there are lots of people who are helping us out, we fear that they may not be enough to defeat the bill, with the mainstream media biased against the pro-life side and the Church. This is why we ask for your help regarding this matter. The appeal is for all to do MUCH MORE by being where the ACTION is! Our presence in the gallery will boost the morale of our allies in congress and the fence sitters maybe encouraged to jump to our side. The congressmen of the majority party, seeing our great numbers, may also be encouraged to cross party lines. In this light, we request that you organize your organizations, parishioners, members and constituents to troop to congress. We need to spread out our schedule. Please be at the Batasan gallery on March 13, 14, 19, 20 & 21 sessions. You may choose any of the schedule dates to participate.
