Allegra School of Music and Arts Premier Youth Theater Camp is having auditions for Dear Edwina the Musical. Follow the adventures of advice-giver extraordinaire, Edwina Spoonapple as she directs the kids in the neighborhood in production number after hilarious production number in her Advice-A-Palooza extravaganza. Written in the style of School House Rock Live! and Youre a Good Man Charlie Brown, Dear Edwina is the perfect musical for young theater lovers who want to explore themes such as table manners, saving money, sibling rivalry, foods you dont like, tolerance, making new friends, and believing in yourself!!!

The Allegra School of Music and Arts is in its 13th year of its Premier Youth 2-week intensive theater summer program. Alumni of the program have gone on to land leads in their school musicals, regional theater companies, and have also been leaders in their school academic programs. Actors and Singers will audition to perform in this fully staged musical with a final performance accompanied by a professional rock theater band. Allegra Premier Youth performers can expect to gain confidence as actors and singers, develop a theater vocabulary that includes knowledge of stage directions, learn how to interact with other actors and develop authentic portrayals of their characters. Attention to facial and body expressions, projection of dialogue and music, as well as forming a foundation for a strong acting technique will be explored. Allegra Premier performers will work with professional musicians and actors who have graduated from advanced programs around the country and are highly experienced working with young theater lovers of this age who desire an advanced theater workshop that will provide them with a performance edge.
