Comme latelier de Tadashi Kawamata

forthcoming : May 2010 authors : Martin Friedman, Tadashi Kawamata, Guy Tortosa, Jonathan Watkins publisher : kamel mennour bilingual French / English format : 21 x 27 cm illustrations colour and black & white

Collection Comme latelier : The Childrens workshop invites creators (visual artists, architects, designers, choreographers and illustrators) to design books based on their approach that can be manipulated, cut out and built. This offers a playful and creative way to become familiar with their universe, through observation and through building elements based on their vocabulary of colours, forms and words. This monograph (bilingual Fr/Eng) brings together the artists various Tree hut projects Japanese Tadashi Kawamata, born in 1953 on the island of Hokkaido. Realised between 2008 and 2010 at Madison Square Park (New York), in Miami, at the Donjon de Vez (Vez), At the Haus der Kulturen der Welt (Berlin), at the kamel mennour gallery, in the Tuileries Gardens and at the Centre Pompidou (Paris) - they are put into perspective, through essays and critical texts by Martin Friedman and Jonathan Watkins, with other, earlier interventions by the artist. These contributions, in addition to the interview conducted by Guy Tortosa, offer a broader point of view on the Tadashi Kawamatas work and enable the reader to have a clearer grasp of his approach.
