E4E is accepting applications for our first Los Angeles policy team. The team will generate a high-profile and high-impact policy proposal on teacher evaluation and present their recommendations to our district, union and key education stakeholders. Applications are due Wednesday, March 28.

Join a team of impressive teachers examine teacher evaluations through a critical lens
E4Es policy team will meet once a week for six weeks to study myriad approaches to evaluation, including those currently being piloted in district and charter schools.

Produce a high-profile and high-impact policy proposal


Drawing from research, a survey of E4Es local membership, and classroom experience, the policy team will propose a new teacher evaluation system.

Advocate for teacher-created recommendations

Be part of a team of 15-20 current teachers that learns about and tackles a challenge facing LAUSD and districts across the nation.

generating alternatives to seniority-based layoffs
E4E teacher policy team recommendations were included in a 2011 New York state assembly bill proposing an alternative to layoff practices based solely on seniority.

Policy team members will present their recommendations to district leaders, school board members, UTLA leaders, education advocacy groups and the media.

Building a new teacher evaluation system for new York


E4E teachers built a multi-measure evaluation system. Key components of the Policy Team proposal were included in a 2012 teacher evaluation reform signed by Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
