It appears, therefore, on the basis of the minor components of the
blanks and pre-blanks, that we have three possible 'batches' of alloy
exhibiting different minor component profles. However, the same patter is
not present when te contollable components are plotted, suggesting that an
attempt was being made to maintain a consistent 'fineness' of these
components across more than one mix of alloy. The same patter is also
apparent for the analyses of te cut-pellet, although the smaller data set makes
the diferences less profound. It is, however, the combination of Ward's
method cluster analysis and the PA which suggests greater stucture in the
minor components (fig.6) tha in the major components (fig.5).
