Missionaries to India and Nepal

Randy Gideons . Lead Pastor . Warehouse Church

There are four basic commitments that come out of the book of Acts: 1. 2. 3. 4. To learn To care To fellowship To worship

To learn: they devoted themselves to the Apostle's teaching. What was the Apostle's teachings? They did not have the luxury of the New Testament to use as a point of reference...they were writing the New Testament! What they had was what they had witnessed. They devoted themselves to the Apostles testimonies of what they had observed Jesus doing on a day by day basis. Not only did the Apostles share what they had seen, they also passed on the mandate to their followers to carry on the mission of Christ. To care: they were moved with compassion to care for those inside and outside the community of believers. They sold there possessions and gave to those in need as just one example of this commitment to others. To fellowship: Adam was created for fellowship with God. God wants us to be in relationship with Him and with the other believers and to share life with one another. Forsaking not to assemble together is not a suggestion. God wants us to live in community with one another. They met daily in the Acts days...we surely can commit to a regular schedule of getting His family together. To worship: worship is more than singing and playing music to God. Worship is living our lives unto God with appreciation and giving God our whole life worship in every act we do. Sunday worship in song is just one aspect of the worshippers life! Jesus sat with His disciples at the Last Supper table just before He would go to the cross. Somehow I imagine Him going over everything one more time with his disciples, making sure they understood they needed to carry on His mission once He ascended to Heaven. He had come with a purpose that is revealed in the Gospels and He was leaving that mission with those closest to Him. When He died on the cross and was resurrected His spirit was released upon those He left behind. Immediately they were filled with His spirit and began to carry on the work He had started. It is our responsibility to carry on the work that Jesus had started! Easter is around the corner. Take time to read the scripture about the resurrection, the empowerment and look at the model Jesus left us to learn and to follow in order for His work to be completed!

Acts in Motion!

ell, Ive been home two weeks now and my sleeping schedule has returned to normal but my thoughts are still in Nepal. We had a very successful five day medical camp in Kadrae. Kadrae is in the west central southern part of Nepal, in the foothills before the snow mountains. This area, like most of Nepal is very poor and the people struggle for most basic necessities. The food they eat is only what they grow; rice, daal (a watery bean soup) and a few vegetables. Meat is only for special occasions, like a medical camp. We had mutton one day and chicken one day. The other th days were vegetarian. We left Orlando Saturday Feb 4 and landed in Kathmandu Nepal their Monday 11:30am . . . thats 33 hours travel time and 21 of that was in the air. As soon as we arrived we loaded in a 4wd Toyota truck and traveled 15 hours on the roughest roads in the world. When we arrived we were greeted by the whole village with garlands; we were covered! We stayed in the local believers house... mud walls, grass roofs. That next day while we were eating I noticed three men working . . . they were making our toilet ready. I couldnt believe it... a western toilet sitting on a hill of mud with a polyurethane tarp around it 30 ft away from our dining area. No plumbing, just a bucket for flushing. It was hilarious! The medical camp ran form Wednesday morning till Sunday evening and for those five days it was crowds of desperate people and hundreds of decisions to make. We conducted the camp in a school grounds: one building with six rooms for the doctors and one building for the pharmacy and prayer room. After the people received their medicine they were directed to the prayer room. Each evening we had programs after supper and they were great... cultural dances and gospel preaching. I never counted but many were saved and healed. Fourteen hundred people were treated and prayed for. Sheryl and I also took a day with the school children and taught a health class and gave a gospel presentation. Kadrae has a church now and I have already heard of many testimonies of salvation and healing. Kadrae, Nepal will never be the same. Thank you Warehouse church for giving and praying. Ron & Sheryl

"What do you see when you view the Cross?"

Another Big Give-A-Way Our Thanksgiving and Christmas give-a-ways were a great give success and you were responsible for helping people to have a more enjoyable Thanksgiving and Christmas than they would have had otherwise. April 1 , 2012 We are gearing up for our big food give-a-way... The Storehouse team will have 100 bags of food in the lobby. We are asking that as you leave church that you take a bag of food to someone you know who can use helping hand. The bags will be filled with everything from soups to soaps. We are showing Gods love in a practical way by giving food to our neighbors. With gasoline prices skyrocketing people are putting more money in their tanks and less food on their tables. We can help remedy this by continuing to donate and distribute. Thank you for all that you are doing to contribute to The Storehouse. Many lives are changed because of your participation. This month we are focusing on peanut butter, jelly and batteries. These are items that can go a long way and helps g those who have no electricity. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Act 2:45 If you would like to be part of The Storehouse Team, please contact Sonia Shearer @ ShearerSonia@hotmail.com or the church office. We are always looking for volunteers. Our next meeting will be Saturday, March 31 10:00 AM @ The Warehouse. The Storehouse Team

Anu Tamang ~ "It was my death too." Lori Behr ~ Personally Ive never been one to hold the cross in high regards. What Jesus did on the cross, absolutely. But if Jesus had waited and came in later years his death would have been by hanging, or electric chair, or by lethal injection. I get that its a reminder of eminder the sacrifice, I just use a different reminder I guess. Jeff Light ~ I see a symbol that has been so I commercialized that even Christians lose the realization of what terrible, awful, gruesome, selfless act that actually occurred atop that mountain on that day. ntain day. Lydia Beaudion ~ When I look at the cross I see the When road way to life and I feel the love that God gave to us through His s Gift of His son Jesus Christ (Jesus' selflessness) and in so empowering us with yet another Gift of the Holy spirit. Mary Cullinane ~ When I see the cross, I see Jesus When resurrected. If He had not come back from the g grave He would only have been a great prophet. But He rose from the dead and He is Lord. He suffered so terribly to pay for my sins and the sins of all others and He did it s all with love. I see the loneliness of the cross, his disciples fled and He cried out 'My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?' He was so lonely! He was crying 'why are you hy leaving me behind? Why are you deserting me? Read hy Psalm 22:6-8 The loneliness may have been more to bear than the physical suffering. Everything we ever go through in this life, Jesus has suffered. We are so blessed to know Him and can run to Him in every situation and He comforts our hearts.

ALL THINGS FOR MY GOOD

Warehouse Childcare provides a secure, caring environment for infants to PreK that contributes to their well being, complements the nurturing that they receive at home, and introduces them to the love of Christ. This care is provided to allow parents to participate in worship services, programs and activities that take place at the Church. For the safety of our children please follow these guidelines: Sign your child in at the Childcare desk and place a nametag on their back and belongings. Let the attendant know of any special needs your child might have. On pick up please sign your child out. We only release a child to the person who signed them in. Should your child need you an attendant will locate you in the worship service or a message will appear on the screen.

For safety purposes we ask that drop off and pick up of your child be done at the Childcare counter. To help with safety we do not let other adults into the childcare dcare area other than the attendants who will be caring for your child.

Just want to share how proud I am of our Church family. Chip and I had an old friend from Alaska visit the church recently and she was so moved by Gods spirit while she was here. From the worship, the love shown to her by the people she met, and especially Pastor Randys message. She had what she described as a major breakthrough in her walk with Christ. All day long she ith kept commenting that God had begun a new work in her and was revealing things that hadnt made sense to her in the past. It all had to do with our aim to be the "Radical Middle", between Evangelical/Fundamental and Pentecostal/Charismatic. She could hardly believe that we were actually making that work! We really do have a unique thing going on here in the body of Christ. I pray that we will continue to reach out to those who have fallen through the cracks of traditional church, and to reach those who do not know of Christ's love. rch,

"God does not have to come and tell me what I must do for Him, He brings me into a relationship with Himself where I hear His call and understand what He wants me to do, and I do it out of sheer love to Him... When people say they have had a call to foreign service, or to any particular sphere of work, they mean that their relationship to God has enabled them to realize what they can do for God." Oswald Chambers "Have you noticed how much praying for revival has been going on of late - and how little revival has resulted? I believe the problem is that we have been trying to substitute praying for obeying, and it simply will not work. To pray for revival while ignoring the plain precept laid down in Scripture is to waste a lot of words and get d nothing for our trouble. Prayer will become effective when we stop using it as a substitute for obedience." A.W. Tozer

s many of you know, I enjoy cooking. I enjoy the planning of the meal. I enjoy the prepping of the individual ingredients. I enjoy putting the things together in an order so as to maximize the likelihood that the intended outcome is achieved. As weird as it may be to hear me say, its like poetry in a kitchen to make everything work together to achieve something really good. I have to say, sometimes, I get things out of order and it doesnt turn out like I had hoped. Sometimes, everything just works right and I hit it out of the park (like my bacon wrapped bac backstrap recipe). We sing a song that says; You cause all things to work together for my good. Consider this for a minute; ALL things to work together for MY good. This has to take into consideration both the good and the perceived bad things that occur each and thin every day. If you consider a simple recipe, there are major changes that happen to create a different thing. There can be slicing, dicing, grating, whipping, separating, blending, boning, frenchingall to achieve a desired outcome. At outcome the end, nothing looks as it did before. Major changes had to be made. As things are put together and then heat is applied, chemical changes occur. When your creation comes out of the heat, it is a changed creation. It can never again become its individual parts again. As you are going through your days, remember this; you are not where God wants you yet. You are on a journey to become what He has intended for your life. He might have to take you through some major changes to prep you to become what He wants you to become. After you are prepped, you might have to endure the heat for a time. At the end of the heat, you are a new and different creation; His own creation. Keep in mind; He causes all things to work together for our good. Even the days when we feel we are being beaten, sliced, diced, whipped and the heat is on; ALL THINGS FOR OUR GOOD! We become a new creation and we are better than we were in our own individualness.

Just for Today

Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow has enough worries of its own. Matthew 6: 34 ast October when Neal lost his job and our major source of income, I found myself thinking about this scripture quite a bit. Ive heard from others who have been laid-off or let-go that finding a job is not easy in go this economy. When I heard and thought about this, the words of Jesus constantly played over in my mind about not worrying. I learned a lot through this trial and the biggest lesson is that, st when you are going through a battle, it is very important to Stay in the Moment. I remember driving down the road one day and my mind rehearsing the what ifs. What if Neal doesnt find a job? What if we cant pay our bills? What i he if has to take a job that he doesnt like? What if he starts getting depressed? Then I remembered, Dont worry about tomorrow Focusing on what I was doing at that very moment, how I was not hungry, how beautiful the sky looked and how thankful I was to have a vehicle to drive helped me to s not worry. There were many moments of time that could have been ruined by worry. Sometimes Neal and I would sit on the back porch, enjoying the weather and looking out at the garden he planted during his forced time-off and I would think about how off the moment could be spent worrying or enjoying one anothers company. Neal is now employed and none of the catastrophes that tried to play in my mind has come to pass. I heard once that 90% of the things we fear never come to pass. Similar to the saying: Stay in the Moment is the saying: Just for Today. This also has its roots in Jesus admonition to not worry about tomorrow. Just For Today I can do anything. Just for Today I can choose to not eat pie. Just for Today I Just can choose to exercise. Just for Today I can not let that statement make me angry. Just for Today I can wake up early. Just for Today I can give my worries to God. Thinking this way has made a huge impact on my life. When I think about giving up something forever it seems too overwhelming. When I think about fitting exercise into my busy schedule for the rest of my life, it is just too big of a thought. But, Just for Today I can do anything. The Tonia interpretation of Do not worry about tomorrow t translates: Do not try to think too far ahead. Stay in the moment and realize that grace and strength comes at the very minute you need it. Youll have enough to deal with tomorrow; therefore, dont try to deal with tomorrows problems along with lems todays load. You will have grace when you need it tomorrow. Tomorrow will be affected good or bad by the choice you make in this moment. Choose this day.

He is a Friend

hat is a friend? A friend is a person you know well and like to be around, but is not related yet you have a relationship with this person called a friendship. A friend is a person with whom you dare to be yourself. Your soul can be naked with Him/him. He does not ask of you to put on errs only be what you are. More and more Americans are starving for significant relationships. In a recent Christianity Today Editorial, Look at All the Lonely People says, As of 2004, the average American had just two close friends, compared with three in 1985. Those reporting no confidants at all jumped from 10 percent to 25 percent. Even the share of Americans reporting a healthy circle of four or fine friends had plunged from 33 percent to just over 15 percent. If there were an arena in which friendships should and could develop, I would think it would be in the church community. I recently went to a Christian conference for pastors and church leaders. The participants were very congenial nevertheless coy. These leaders were proper and polished but not interested in enjoying each others company in the faith. I dont want to go as far as saying they were superficial but.... The dilemma today is that the role models for us as evangelical pastors are the superstar pastors. Read any periodical geared to church leadership it reeks with overtones of bigness is good. Evangelical megachurches have sprung up around the country, concerns have grown over whether superstar pastor help or hurt faith communities. Many Godly pastors have come to realize that they are not talented in administration so they have gone out and hired administrators to guide in the daily management of church affairs. In many situations, this is good thinking, but, the Spirit does not lead some of these staff members as much as does the envisioning of the church in terms of buildings, diversity of pastors, terrific ministries and marketing of a post-modern faith. New paradigms, spiritual formation, community outreach/missions, leadership development, and cultural impact/transformation take the place of people touching people authentic relationships. This is all done in appropriately ministering" to the current congregation while also attracting new seekers into your midst. The Christianity Today Editorial goes on to say, The pressure to isolate ourselves is longstanding in our increasingly fragmented society based on the radical autonomy of the individual. Perhaps the same thing that is sabotaging marriage is undermining friendship: our increasing unwillingness to commit to relationships that require sacrifice, mutual accountability, and a generous share of humility. That refusal is often not so much willful as fearful. Back in the 60s, cultural critics Simon and Garfunkel noted the temptation to what is now innocuously called cocooning: Ive built walls, a fortress deep and mighty, that none may penetrate. I have no need of friendship; friendship causes pain. Its laughter and its loving I disdain. Betsy Hart in her syndicated column, Resolving to combat isolation, asked this question. As we see the relationships foundational to our society falling apart, is that translating into a fear of other kinds of friendship because they, too, might end? Maybe Jerry Seinfeld in the TV shows Seinfeld would say excuse me has this conversation gotten off the subject. Then he would come to the consensus that yes, it had and so he would reply let us get to the subject that matters me.

As a society with renewed attention on self, we are isolating ourselves, building wall, and yet craving relationships. When all we talk about is self-centered, it is very hard to find close friends with out manipulating them into being such. What I fear the most is to commit, sacrifice, and serve with the possibility of loving and not receiving love. Therefore, I opt for loneliness as I yearn for friends good friends. What would happen if we would reach out to someone in need and serve that person as Jesus did? Do you think that through the abundant grace of God, He could use that relationship to the benefit of both?

You can communicate to Him whatever you think, so long as you are sincere, honest with Him, and eventually willing to do as He has instructed.

The scriptures tell us to be friends to the sinner. In John 15 Jesus said, You are my friend, if you do the things which I command you. No longer do I call you a servant, for a master doesnt confide in his servants. Greater love hath no man than this that man lay down His life for His friends. His is that He is a fire that purges the soul and then leaves a fire deep in you that will never go out. With this fire in you, He requires nothing on your part for He receives you as you are for better or for worse. When He dwells in you (in that fire), you feel as a prisoner feels who has been declared innocent, vindicated. Your do not have be on your guard, He does not force Himself on to you, but on the other hand you cant keep from being and acting in the way He has called you to be one of His servants. You can communicate to Him whatever you think, so long as you are sincere, honest with Him, and eventually willing to do as He has instructed. The Father understands those contradictions in your soul and spirit that lead you to desperation. You, O Lord, are a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering and abundant in mercy and truth (Psalm 86:15). With Him, you can breathe freely and receive freshness like the fragrance after a rain. You can weep with him, confide in Him, believe in Him, laugh with Him, and talk with Him about ordinary stuff. Through it all, He is there, in heaven, in the earth and underneath, He sees, knows and love you. Jesus Christ, what a friend, the only one to whom you dare commit your life as a Savior and Lord thereby responding like wise to the unchurched, unloved and sinners.
