APPLICATION Visual Arts

Application Process
1. Fill out the 2 page application
2. Schedule an audition through the MSA office: auditions will be held mid Jan-Feb 18.
3. Audition appointment includes:
a. Visual arts audition (see below)
b. Interview a short interview with the art staff about goals and aspirations
c. Writing prompt a short essay to be completed within a maximum time of one

Final audition date: Friday, February 18th 2011
Students will be notified the week commencing February 28th 2011
Letters of Intent need to be returned by Friday, March 11th 2011

Audition and Portfolio Requirements

Visual Art Painting / Drawing / Sculpture: A portfolio presentation must include:

A still life, in any medium
Something from your imagination, in any medium
A painting using color
A photograph or slide of a 3-D work, in any medium
2 5 other pieces that exhibit the best and most interesting aspects of your work

Works can be submitted in any media or technique and should represent a variety of
approaches. For two-dimensional works the original work, slides, or photographs will be
accepted. For three-dimensional works please submit only slides or photographs. Please
identify each work with your name, address, and phone number on the back of each work.
Portfolios are accepted in both hardcopy/traditional form or digitally, either via email or
on a disc.
