NEIGHBORHOOD HAPPENNINGS
2nd ANNUAL EASTER EGG HUNT UPNA will host an Easter Egg Hunt Saturday, April 7th at 3:30 in the afternoon. There will be eggs for hunting in two age categories. Children under 5 will find their eggs in the new playground area and the 6-10 year olds will hunt for their eggs throughout the park. Bring your Easter baskets and come out and enjoy a fun time with your children and neighbors. COAST-TO-COAST US 50 GREAT YARD SALE University Parks participation in this event last year was a huge success. We will join the nationwide yard sale again this year on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, May 18,19,20 2012. In addition to the national advertising this event receives, the UPNA will pay to advertise in the local papers so no one will have to place ads on their own. New this year, we would like everyone to sign up that plans to have a sale so we can print maps and also have them available on our blog for buyers. You can sign up at our website: myupna.blogspot.com, email: upna@comcast.net or call: 557-1498. Deadline to get on map is May 14. Each individual seller will be responsible for their own permits and sales taxes associated with their sale. You may participate any one of the three days or all three days. This joint effort will draw many people to our neighborhood. So dig out your unused items, it could be just one or two or a whole garage full, that will become others treasures and take advantage of this national event. NEW PLAYGROUND Wow! Our neighborhood children are out playing in the new playground area almost every day. What a beautiful sight! Thanks to all who contributed to the JAX structure, we raised a little over $5000 with Legacy Banks contribution of $1500. The landscaping should begin soon with trees, shrubs and flowers planted. We will continue to fundraise to complete the area with benches, picnic tables, and hopefully a shade structure. Simply check the box on the dues form and include your donation to the playground with your dues.

?? DID YOU KNOW??

Every homeowner and renter must comply with neighborhood covenants. If you need a copy, go to myupna.blogspot.com
Park your boat, camper, trailer and unused vehicles behind your fence, off-site or in your garage. Maintain green, weed free lawns of at least 50% of your front and side yards. Control the weeds in all rocked areas of your property including easements outside your fence. Remove dead trees and shrubs. Keep your trash can out of sight. Repair and repaint your home exterior in earthtone colors only. Covenants insure that everyone does their part to preserve our property values and keep UP an excellent neighborhood to live in!
