2012 MBA Golf Tournament

The annual MBA Golf Tournament is scheduled for Thursday, May 10 at Arrowhead Country Club. The tournament is a fellowship event that averages approximately 80 golfers from 16-18 churches. While the event is primarily fellowship, it does have a missions component to it. Each year, the MBA Golf Committee chaired by Steve DuBose, First Baptist, selects an MBA ministry to provide financial support. Money is raised through donors who sponsor a golf hole. The goal is to obtain as many sponsors as possible so that a maximum amount of money can be raised. The levels of sponsorship are listed below. One unique aspect of the tournament sponsorship is that MBA churches are asked to participate by sponsoring a golf hole. The cost for churches sponsoring a hole is $100.00. Associate Director of Missions Bob Dempsey indicates that this is a great way for churches to provide much needed financial support for our ministries. He says that if, a majority of our churches will sponsor a golf hole it would have a profound impact on our ability to present these ministries with significant financial help. The ministries that will benefit from this years tournament are: Samaritan Inn and Community of Hope. The money raised will be divided equally between the two ministries. Golfers are encouraged to begin organizing their teams. The tournament schedule is listed below. For further information about how your church can become a sponsor, call Bob Dempsey at 271-6227.
