3.5 The contents of the Questionnaire.

The questionnaire consists of 16 questions: 11 being closed ended questions, 5 being open-ended ones. The first question asked for the classes of the student, normally starting from form 2 and ending at form 3 as the investigation is only for lower secondary students. The second question inquired about the gender of the respondents. The third question inquired about the marital status of the parents. Question number four investigated whether indiscipline is acute, neutral or not acute at the target school. Respondents had the choice to answer in different possibilities. They could agree, strongly agree, neutral, disagree or strongly disagree (likert scale) with reference to the above. The fifth question attempted to understand the most recurrent form of indiscipline in class. Respondents were asked to enumerate the recurrent forms of indiscipline in class. It allowed the respondent to add other forms of reasons that he may deemed as important or most recurrent in his class. The sixth question was set in order to know the most repeated disciplinary problem outside the class room. Respondents are expected to enumerate the problem of indiscipline. It allowed the participant to add other forms of reasons that he deemed important or most repeated outside the class. The seventh question solicited the personal opinion of the respondent being active agent in the school. They were expected to identify the causes (internal or external) that causes indiscipline at school. They had the choice to benchmark the degree (strongly agree, agree) of the internal or external causes of indiscipline at school through the likert scale. The seventh question is set in order to understand how respondent reacts in matters of indiscipline at school. They are called to assess their conduct at school, whether they are engaged

more or less in cases of indiscipline. This helps the researcher to know if the respondent is a disciplined or an indisciplined student. Question number eight, through the use of the likert scale, asked whether the parents is held as a promoter or opponent of his childs education. The ninth question are series of questions that helps to know if the student is disciplined or indiscipline through his way of behaving at school . Question number ten asked the student if he considers himself to be a discipline or an indisciplined student. Then, he is called to answer why he thinks so. The eleventh question dealt with the marks of the student in the three main subjects that are Maths, English and French. This question is asked in order to see if there is a relationship between indiscipline and poor performance and good discipline and good academic performance. The twelve question asked if the respondent thinks that indiscipline in himself impacts his academic performances. Then, he is asked to justify why he thinks so. Number thirteen was set in order to understand if indiscipline is properly managed at school. It is anticipated that this question will help in understanding internal reasons why there indiscipline. Question fourteen; thirteen and fourteen are open-ended questions. These questions are related in finding solutions and remedial measures for the problem of indiscipline. It is anticipated that the responses of students will help in understanding where there is the need for change in the school in order to minimize indiscipline and to maintain good academic performances. are
