ACA1 this is a 6 unit performance based course found only in accounting undergrad programs.

. There are 6 tasks that students complete. The first 3 are income tax related (partnership, individual and corporation) and the last 3 are on inventory systems and depreciation. (Taken by students near the end of their program and challenging for most students) AGC1 this is a foundation course that tests a students entry level math skills for college. It covers a wide range of math from fractions and whole numbers to Algebra and Geometry. This objective based assessment has a cut score of 64. The course is made up of 10 modules in the Pearson Math lab with the latter modules being the most challenging. (This math course replaced BAC1 in degree plans for students that started on 12/1/2011 or after. Everything remained the same as BAC1 except the CUs have been increased from 2 units to 3. This course can prove to be challenging for the student who has not had math for several years. If this course has not been met by transfer, it should be passed prior to any other math course in the degree program). ASC1 this is 12 unit objective assessment covering marketing management concepts found only in the marketing management undergrad program. (Cut score is 62. ASC1 uses same COS as AST1). AST1 this is a 6 unit performance based course found only in the marketing management undergrad program. There are only 2 tasks with a recommended length of 2-3 pages each. (AST1 uses same COS as the ASC1 course). ATO1 this is an 8 unit objective based course found only in the accounting undergrad degree program. This course covers financial accounting concepts with a high emphasis on tax accounting. (It is very challenging and has been replaced by CGC1 for students starting after 12/1/2011. The unit value was decreased to a 6 unit assessment for CGC1) AUO1 this is a 4 unit objective assessment only found in the undergrad accounting program. It covers the concepts of auditing and information systems. (Cut score of 52) AYV1 this is an extremely difficult 3 unit professional certification assessment found only in the sales and sales management program. This assessment covers personal selling concepts. (This assessment requires a tremendous amount of preparation before taking. There are only 2 days each month that this assessment is offered and must be scheduled 40 days in advance. Cut score is 75 and there are no preassessments available. Consult the course mentor for all the intricacies of this course. Pass rate is well under 50% for WGU students.) AZV1 this is a difficult 4 unit assessment on sales force management. It is a professional certification course found only in the sales and sales management program. (This assessment is not quite as difficult as AYV1 but still very challenging. Cut score of 75 with no pre-assessments. Like AYV1 cannot be taken with webcam but can be taken with the standard 10 day notice. Consult the course mentor for all the intricacies of this course).

BBC1 this is a foundation course that tests a students entry level communication skills. Some of the basic content of this course includes grammar, punctuation and sentence structure. This objective based assessment has a cut score of 64. (Most students should have little problem with this course, however it can be challenging for the older student who hasnt been in college for awhile, the student who struggled with English, or the student where English was not their first language, so be conscious of this. I always include this in the first term if it is not transferred in as it covers basic writing skills). BDC1 this is a 9 unit objective based course found only in the IT management undergrad program. It covers IT management concepts. BGA1 is a performance based course found only in the accounting undergrad program. This is a 6 unit course with 5 tasks dealing with capital budgeting, analyzing cash flow and income statements and ratio analysis. BMA1 is a performance based course found only in the business management undergrad program. This is a 9 unit course with 4 tasks dealing with quality management and operations management concepts. This course was replaced by QHT1 in the newer undergrad program for students staring after 12/1/2011. BNC1-objective based course covering leadership and organizational behavior concepts. The subject of Organizational behavior deals with corporate culture and how a company or organization reacts to decisions that the organization makes such as wage scales, evaluations methods, and changes to how they operate.(Cut score of 51. This course replaced ORC1 for students starting after 12/1/2011. BNC1 and LET1 both use the same e-text). BVC1-This is a 3 unit objective based course covering US and World Geography. This is a new course available only to students in programs starting 12/1/2011 or after. (Cut score of 71) BWC1-is a 3 unit objective based course covering concepts of anthropology, sociology and psychology. (This is a new course only for students starting after 12/1/2011. It has a cut score of 69). CASM- This is the capstone project found only in the Sales and Sales Management undergrad program. The student has 3 performance tasks to complete based on a case study that includes a PowerPoint presentation and 2 reports prepared for the senior management team. (Found only in the BSSM program for students prior to 12/1/2011)

CHV1- This is a professional certification exam course taken only by students in the HR undergrad program. This assessment is taken near the end of an HR students degree program. There are only certain test windows for students to take this assessment during each term. The student will need to work with the course mentor to ensure preparation and scheduling for the exam. Both the national and WGU pass rate average is 50%. CGC1 this is a 6 unit objective based course found only in the accounting undergrad degree program for students starting on or after 12/1/2011. This course covers financial accounting concepts with a high emphasis on tax accounting. (It is very challenging and has replaced ATO1 for students starting on or after 12/1/2011. The unit value was decreased to a 6 unit assessment for CGC1 from the 8 units of ATO1). CLC1 This is a critical thinking objective based course. It has a cut score of 70. CMO1 This is a 6 unit objective based course covering cost and managerial accounting. It has a cut score of 54. CPN1 This is the capstone project for the accounting undergrad programs. The capstone is a business plan prepared by the student for a hypothetical start-up company that provides accounting services or products. The business plan will be 17-25 pages when complete. (Found only in the accounting undergrad program for students prior to 12/1/2011) CWBM This is the capstone course in the business management undergrad program. The capstone is a business plan prepared by the student for a hypothetical business and will total 17-25 pages when complete. (Found only in the business management undergrad program for students prior to 12/1/2011) CWHM This is the capstone course in the HR undergrad program. The capstone is a business plan prepared for a hypothetical business that will provide HR services or products. The business plan will be 17-25 pages when complete. (Found only in the HR undergrad program for students prior to 12/1/2011) CWMM This is the capstone course in the marketing undergrad program. The student will develop a business plan for a hypothetical startup company that will provide some type of marketing product or service. The capstone will be 17-25 pages when complete. (Found only in the marketing undergrad program for students prior to 12/1/2011) CWIT This is the capstone course in the IT Management undergrad program. The student develops a business plan for a hypothetical start-up company that sells computer services, equipment or software. The capstone is typically 17-25 pages when complete. (Found only in the IT management undergrad program for students prior to 12/1/2011) CWV1 This is an objective based course available only in the new IT management program. This third party professional certification exam covers Networks. This course is only available in programs for students starting after 12/1/2011. The student will not be able to use their webcams for this assessment.

EGC1 This is a 4 unit objective based course covering economic principles. (Cut score of 53. Despite the relatively low cut score, this course tends to be challenging for most students. Students typically take EGC1 and EGT1 back to back). EGT1 performance based course with 4 tasks covering various economic principles. (These tend to be challenging as well, and students should allow sufficient time to complete including time for revisions. Students typically take EGC1 and EGT1 back to back.) EST1- performance based course with 2 tasks to complete. Task 1 has a recommended length of 3 pages where the student is given a scenario and writes an essay analyzing a companys actions. The second task has a recommended length of 7 pages where the student writes an ethics program for a company in a given scenario. This course has an e-text that is also used for the LWC1 course. (This course is usually taken in a students first 2 terms). FNC1 objective based course covering financial accounting concepts, managerial accounting and IT concepts and application as they apply to the financial accounting world. Students also will learn and incorporate the different formulas businesses use to compute financial analysis. (The cut score is 54. It would be advisable to pull in FNC1 and FNT1 together in a term as they both total 12 units. Halfway through the FNC1 course the student will be asked to complete task 1 of FNT1. ). FNT1 performance based course that is a companion course to FNC1. Students are given business scenarios and have templates to fill as they complete financial statements for a business. Halfway through the FNC1 course the student will be asked to complete task 1, then will do task 2 after going through the remainder of the course. (It would be advisable to pull in FNC1 and FNT1 together in a term as they both total 12 units). HMP1 performance based course in the HR undergrad program. The student will use a JetBlue Airways case study to complete a (maximum of 10 page) research paper. Topics covered include EEO laws, recruitment, performance evaluations, 360 degree feedback and employee benefits as they apply to the case study. (This course is only in the HR undergrad programs for students starting after 12/1/2011) INC1- is an objective based course covering the natural sciences. The student will engage in studying the universe and solar system, earth science, ecosystems and organisms. (The cut score is 58. This is a challenging assessment due to the multiple facets of science in this course). INT1- is a performance based science course with 3 tasks to complete. The first 2 will be completed as power points and the third is a scientific experiment. (The science courses prove fairly challenging for most students, and it is highly recommended that the student engage the course mentors for completion, especially the experiment) IWC1 objective based course covering the arts and humanities. Cut score of 57.

IWT1 performance based course with 2 tasks to complete on the arts and humanities. Both have a recommended length of about 7 pages. (Many students report these tasks seem to be more lengthly and time consuming than they were expecting for a 2 unit course). LAE1 this is a performance based persuasive essay course. There is only 1 task here, a 150-200 word essay. There are 5 options for the student to choose from to write their essay on. (If the student can form their thesis statement to pass, this course can be passed very quickly. Include this course in the first term if it hasnt been met by transfer). LAT1- This is a performance based research paper course. There are 5 tasks for completion including task 1 with 10 annotated bibliographies (1 page each) and task 5 (10-15 page essay including title page and reference pages). (LAT1 proves to be a very time consuming course for students. As a mentor, expect a minimum of 4 weeks for the majority of students and often that number is more like 6- 8 weeks to complete. This is a lot of work for a 2 unit course, and was changed to QBT1 for all students starting after 12/1/2011). LET1 this performance based course ties in with the leadership concepts of ORC1 / BNC1 using the same e-text. There are 4 tasks dealing with leadership that have suggested lengths of 2-5 pages. (Recommend doing in conjunction with ORC1/BNC1 or shortly after). LIT1 performance based course with 2 tasks to complete. The first has a recommended length of 7 pages and analyzes different types of business ownership. The student will also write a memorandum to the owner (letter of recommendation). Task 2 has a recommended length of 5 pages. The student is given a few scenarios and must research various labor and employment laws to determine it that law is applicable to the given situation. (Skillsoft modules and government comprise the learning resources for older degree programs. For those students still with the tasks to complete or starting after 3/15/12, a new e-text is being added as a supplemental resource). LUT1- This is a performance based presentation course. There are 2 tasks with the final task being a 7 minute oral presentation, including a visual aid, done with the students webcam or another recording device. (Students use a research paper for this course, so a good strategy may be for the student to use their paper from LAT1/QBT1 for this course). LWC1- this is a 6 unit objective based course covering the subjects of business law and business ethics. The course of study directs students to read 11 chapters of the business law text and 4 chapters of the business ethics text (both available by e-text). (Many students find EST1 & LIT1 are good prep courses to help prepare for LWC1. Cut score is 60.) MAP1- performance based course found only in the marketing undergrad program. This course has just 1 task based on a case study that has a recommended length of 8-15 pages. This course is new and only in the marketing program for students starting after 12/1/2011.

MGC1- objective based Principals of Management course. The student has both an e-text and skillsoft modules (videos) as their learning resources. (The cut score is 52, not terribly difficult making it a nice course to pull into the first or second term for students). MKC1 - is a 6 unit objective based course that covers marketing concepts. (The cut score is 69, and there are over 20 chapters of material covered). MKT1 MKT1 is a performance based course with just 1 task to complete. It is fairly involved however, writing a 3 year marketing plan for a company that has a recommended length of 7 pages. (Just one task, but it has many components that need included). OBC1-7 unit objective based course that is only in the business management degree program. This course covers the concepts used in strategic management. (Cut score of 64 and can be challenging for students) ORC1-objective based course covering leadership and organizational behavior concepts. The student has 5 tasks to include in their portfolio that includes the students resume, a strength essay, supporting documents such as transcripts and letters of recommendation and a market outlook for future jobs in their field of study. PFIT-performance based course at the end of the IT management undergrad program. The student has 5 tasks to include in their portfolio that includes the students resume, a strength essay, supporting documents such as transcripts and letters of recommendation and a market outlook for future jobs in their field of study. PTSM-performance based course at the end of the Sales and Sales Management undergrad program. The student has 5 tasks to include in their portfolio that includes the students resume, a strength essay, supporting documents such as transcripts and letters of recommendation and a market outlook for future jobs in their field of study. QAT1 This is a quantitive analysis performance based course. The student has 5 tasks to apply different quantitative principles such as Graphic Linear programming models, Pert / CPM Method, Decision Making tree and Economic Order Quantity models. (It is a challenging course and it would be recommended that the student has the other quantitative courses completed first). QBT1 This is a performance based course where the student writes a research paper. There are 5 tasks for completion where the student selects the topic, develops a thesis statement, finds 10 appropriate sources to use, writes an annotated bibliography for the sources, and in the end submits the completed research paper with a length of approximately 10 pages. (It is a time consuming course for

most students. The accelerating students will spend 3-4 weeks at a minimum, while the nonaccelerating students often spend 6-8 weeks or longer to complete. It is advisable to surround this course with some easier courses on whatever term it is pulled in to give the student ample time for completion. QBT1 replaced LAT1 for students starting after 12/1/2011. QBT1 is a 3 unit course while LAT1 was a 2 unit course in the older programs). QCT1 This is the business capstone project for the accounting undergrad program. The student puts together a business plan for a company as the capstone. This capstone has the accounting emphasis as it applies to the given situation of a startup company. This is only in the new accounting program that rolled out 12/1/2011. QDC1 This 8 unit objective assessment is only offered in the business management undergrad degree program. This assessment covers the concepts of Operations Management. (Cut score of 60. Very challenging for students) QET1 This is the business capstone project for the HR undergrad program. The student puts together a business plan for a company as the capstone. This capstone has the HR emphasis as it applies to the given situation of a startup company. This is only in the new program that rolled out 12/1/2011. QFT1 This is the capstone course in the IT Management undergrad program. The student develops a business plan for a hypothetical start-up company that sells computer services, equipment or software. The capstone is typically 17-25 pages when complete. This is only in the new program that rolled out 12/1/2011. QGT1 This is the capstone course in the Business Management undergrad program. The capstone is typically 17-25 pages when complete. This is only in the new program that rolled out 12/1/2011. QLC1- objective based math course covering algebra and geometry principles. It is an extension of the last half of the modules studied to pass the BAC1 assessment. Students use the Pearson Math Lab as the learning resource. (Cut score of 57. Students should pass BAC1 first before attempting QLC1) QMC1 objective based math course covering quantitative analysis (statistics and probability). This course uses Pearson Math Lab as the learning resource. (Cut score is 58. Student usually will take the QLC1 course first although the statistics course does not build off the principles found in the algebra course).

QLT1 performance based course with 5 graphing equations to complete. (Not related to either QLC1 or QLT1, but usually taken after they are completed). RWT1 performance based business plan research and writing course. The student will select a business scenario from a given list and conduct research on the topic of that scenario. 10 appropriate resources must be used. The student then writes a business report, puts together a multimedia presentation and includes a reference page to complete the tasks. (This is more challenging and time consuming than the 2 units indicate.) RZT1 This is the capstone project found only in the Sales and Sales Management undergrad program. The student has 3 performance tasks to complete based on a case study that includes a PowerPoint presentation and 2 reports prepared for the senior management team. (Found only in the BSSM program for students after 12/1/2011) SSC1 an objective based course covering general social science concepts. (Cut score is 56). SST1 performance based course with 2 tasks, 5-7 pages in length, on social science concepts. TPV1 is an objective assessment course in all newer undergrad programs. In this project design course students will pass the Comp Tia 2009 professional certification exam in IT concepts. (This course is only in programs for students starting after 12/1/2011. Students will not be able to use their webcam for this assessment and will need the 10 day lead time in the referral process. WFV1 is an objective assessment course in the newer IT management program. WFV1 is a professional certification exam covering basic IT principles including e-commerce, website development, and networks. (The cut score is 63. It is only available in the new IT program for students starting after 12/1/2011. Student will not be able to use their webcams for this assessment and will need the 10 day lead time in the referral process).
