“DECLARING THE YEAR THE LORD’S FAVOR”

LOVE’S IN NEED...LOVE TODAY-PART I

Romans 12:9-16 9 Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is
good. 10 Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another
above yourselves. 11 Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fer-
vor, serving the Lord. 12 Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in
prayer. 13 Share with God’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.
14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. 15 Rejoice with
those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. 16 Live in harmony with
one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of
low position. Do not be conceited.

Love must exist toward all, without condition. It must be from the heart,
from the depths of our very being. As believers in Christ Jesus, we do not
have the option to hate! Let me say that again…”we do not have the option
to hate”. Let us understand this declaration that Paul is saying
here— as heirs to the throne of grace—that above all, love must
take precedence! Though evil may exist in this world, it’s the
power of suggestion that Satan uses to convince us that every-
INSIDE THIS one who hurts or offends us is evil. Note: It’s never the person that’s evil;
ISSUE however it’s what’s inside that we should rebuke. We are all God’s

LOVE’S IN NEED...LOVE TODAY—CONT.

As part of one family—but not bonded by blood relations—we must demonstrate “brotherly
love.” We should always be willing to unite with one another in all ways and at all times. We
should never allow pride to be a motivator for not contributing to the outpouring of love, that
was “demonstrated” through the “blood covenant” of our Brother. Note: Demonstrate love
genuinely, and not because it’s convenient for the moment! (John 13:34, 35 & Galatians 5:13, 14)

So, how do we demonstrate love toward others? We demonstrate love with examples of what
God is. We start by asking God to give us a clean heart and clear motives—no matter what—for
others to be blessed. We must be representatives of God’s kingdom. We must be walking bill-
boards of love toward others. As believers, the world should be able to look at us and see the
likeness of Christ. It’s not enough to say that you love someone, but to go a step farther to actu-
ally demonstrate love, is truly in the image of God.

Blessing, and not cursing is a way we demonstrate love to others. How do we bless? We do this
by prayer. We pray for those who can’t or won’t pray for themselves. Those who are in need of
healing, deliverance, and being set free from the chains of life that bind them. We ask God to
heal them, to walk with them through their circumstances, and teach them His ways;
believing by faith that He will do a mighty work in them and at the same time, do a Always follow
work in us. Remember that God is locating your heart in situations regarding others. your heart, for

FROM THE HEART...A WRITER’S EDITORIAL

Praise/worship is one of the ways we show our reverence toward God. It

is a free expression of our love for the one true God that loved us first,
and doesn’t ask for anything in return. When we enter our “secret place”
to render praises, we open ourselves up to receive whatever God wants to
do through us and in us. God’s love is so awesome that the Holy Spirit,
which dwells on the inside of us, is so moved in ways to where we may
cry, dance, shout or even put our faces on the floor in prayer. All these
demonstrations of praise/worship are so powerful, and God welcomes
them all.

“DECLARING THE YEAR THE LORD’S FAVOR”

For those who have faced trials and circumstances, we have a “real” enemy. The
world would have you to believe that things happen...just because. I’m here to tell you
that there is a battle going on and its one of those battles you can’t fight with regular
words and actions.

We have an enemy that wants nothing more than to “steal”, “kill”, and
“destroy” (John 10:10) everything that God has given you, and even the things you
haven’t seen yet. God has given you the keys (weapons) to His kingdom, and we must
know what they are and how to use them.

The word of God, praise and worship, and fervent prayer are the weapons we have to
fight this “spiritual battle” going on for our eternal freedom in Christ Jesus. The
devil—though some would like to believe he doesn’t exist... don’t be deceived—wants
to destroy who we are in Christ, and I’m here to tell you that you don’t have to take
the abuse anymore! Pullout your weapons and start beating the “hell” out of the
devil!! When he starts lying to you, telling you that you’ll never amount to anything,
telling you that its never going to happen for you, or God doesn’t love you...EXERCISE
YOUR GOD-GIVEN AUTHORITY and stomp on the devil’s head!

Choose to be the VICTOR and not the VICTIM! Remember that God knows your is-
sues and your heart; there’s nothing that can’t be accomplished if you speak according
to His word. Depend on God that He’s got your back in any situation, no matter what!

Stay encouraged and tell the enemy that…”you will not defeat me, I am a child of the
Most High God with the love of Christ Jesus in me; you will not steal my
JOY”!
