Statement of Faith
1. We believe in one God, eternally existing in 3 persons: Father, Son, & Holy Ghost. We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His sinless miracles, in His substitution & atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, & in His personal future return to the earth in power & glory. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. We believe that all humans are born with a sinful nature & are thus separated from God, & that salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, a free gift given by God to those who repent and believe. We believe that the Scriptures of the Old & New Testament are verbally inspired by God, & that they are the supreme & final authority in faith & life. We believe in a literal six-day Creation by the direct act of God as recorded in the book of Genesis. We believe in the personal, imminent coming of the Lord, & that at death the unsaved enter everlasting punishment & that the saved enter everlasting life. We believe that marriage is intended by God to be the union of one man & one woman for life. The family is important in the training & nurture of a godly generation. We believe that it is the will of God for Christians to refrain from force & violence in human relations & show Christian love to all men.

Objectives
Shiloh Christian School (SCS) is a ministry of Shiloh Mennonite Church, & is directed & staffed personnel selected & approved by the school board of Shiloh Mennonite Church. SCS provides a comprehensive Christian education through a nationally tested & proven curriculum known as Accelerated Christian Education (ACE). The instructional program includes not only basic subjects necessary for high school graduation, but also spiritual, social & physical training necessary to prepare the student to be a responsible, mature Christian citizen who will honor God.

Learning Center Rules

General:
A student is not permitted to communicate or be out of his office without permission. He should not turn around in his office or tip back his chair. Activities not related to prescribed material are not to be conducted in an office. A flag should be raised for supervisor guidance in academic difficulties. Personal questions should be asked at break time.

Student Offices
SCS offers a high quality of Christian training, but it cannot meet the educational needs of all children. It is not designed to be a correctional institute for problems arising beyond those usually encountered in average school children, the school is not equipped to meet their needs. Offices are assigned & changed only by the supervisor. Offices must be cared for by the student. Anything placed in office must be approved by the supervisor. Students are not to lean or sit on an office or divider. The Goal Card is to be kept up-to-date; it is placed on the students office bulletin board. A Progress Card is also placed on the students office bulletin board Calculators are permitted in the Learning Center only at the supervisors discretion.

Discipline
Because we are not a corrective institution, we ask that a child not be enrolled with the idea that he will be reformed. We are here to work with the home, but are not designed to be a correctional institute for problems arising beyond those usually encountered in average school children. If your child comes home complaining about a policy or discipline, please consider the following: Give the staff the benefit of the doubt. Realize that your childs reporting is emotionally biased & may not include all the facts. Realize that the school has reasons for all the rules & that they are enforced with partiality. Support the school staff & call to get all the facts.

Academic Objectives
The measure of success in achieving academic objectives is made through administering standardized tests & comparing the results with the national norms sometime during each even academic year. The measurement of non-academic qualities may also be assessed. The evaluation is based on evident qualities of Christian character, changes in behavior, & the observable desire of the student to make right decisions. The standards for this are the Scriptural principles of ethics & morality. Found among the objectives of Shiloh Christian School are the following: To provide an atmosphere conducive to moral & spiritual fidelity & the pursuit of godly wisdom, knowledge, & understanding, discerning truth from error To help each child learn & live to honor the Lord by meeting daily responsibilities with which God has entrusted him. To aid each child in seeking his purpose for lifes servile & necessary preparation for eternity through emphasis upon Biblical principles. To promote self-discipline & graciousness through training in selfmotivation, consistency, appreciation, responsibility, & thoroughness. To teach the skill of independent study, so that the pupil shall be prepared to acquire knowledge through research. To install appreciation & respect for government & church, for officials in national & local places of authority, & for the God-ordained law & order.

Shiloh Christian School is dedicated to the training of children in a program of study, activity, & living that is Bible-centered. We believe that all things should be done decently & in order, & that our students should be taught to accept responsibility & to walk honorably before all men. Our staff maintains standards of behavior in the Learning Center & school grounds through kindness, love, & genuine regard for the student. Positive methods of motivational tactics are used to encourage the child to obey. However, when disciplinary action is necessary, it is firmly carried out, exercising good judgment & understanding. Corporal training may be administered in this school. This may include spanking on the buttocks the number of times thought necessary by the principal or person in charge, in the presence of a parent or another person.

Dress Code

Students dress may affect academic achievement, student attitude, & student/staff behavior. All students are expected to adhere to the specific uniform requirements of the given school year of enrollment. Students MUST attend class in complete uniform. If not, the parent will be called & the student will be sent home, or some type of disciplinary action will be given. The Bible gives guidelines to follow concerning our dress. These include: Modesty (1 Timothy 2:9; 2 Timothy 2:22) Gender distinction (Deut. 22:5; 1 Cor. 11:14-15) Conformity to Gods will (1 Tim. 4:12; Rom. 12:1-2; 1 John 2:15-16)

Student Conduct
Shiloh Christian School is for students who are sensitive to the many principles of Christian living that are found in the Bible. Because of this, SCS expects students to refrain from certain activities that are not in accordance with Biblical principles. Although man-made regulations cannot improve our standing in Christ, they can strengthen the life & testimony of the individual & the school. Students at SCS are expected to conduct themselves in a way that is consistent with Biblical standards. These behaviors would include wholehearted devotion to God, respect of others, & of those in authority. We expect students to be aware of the many morally degrading elements found in the theater, the entertainment media, music, periodicals, & other forms of literature. Because of the adverse affect these venues have on a persons life, we ask students to abstain from all aspects of these that are counter Biblical. We expect students to refrain from alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs, & tobacco. Listed below are some general guidelines & principles regarding standards of student conduct: It is expected that all students of SCS will conduct themselves in an orderly courteous manner at all times with prompt & respectful obedience to all school personnel. Every student is expected to respect the feelings & rights of others. Students should learn to be quiet in class, raise their hands to speak, not interrupt others, walk quietly in the building, & eat with proper manners. Dishonesty, such as lying, stealing, & cheating will not be tolerated. Cheating on homework will be considered just as serious as cheating in the Learning Center. Students may not use profanity, be involved in coarse jesting, or use any language not becoming of a Christian.

Attendance Policy
Daily school attendance is essential if the student is to be successful in academic life. Doctor appointments & family vacations should be scheduled so that school attendance is affected as little as possible. When your child is absent, please call the school before 8:25 a.m. & let the supervisor know the reason for the absence. Making a call is not automatically considered an excused absence. Excused absences usually result from situations that arise beyond the control of the student. Some examples could be: - Personal injury/ illness - Medical/dental appointment - Family emergency - Natural disaster or car accident, etc. Both excused & unexcused absences shall be considered when determining excessive absences. Missing school more than 20 days in one year would be considered excessive. If possible, notify the supervisor in advance when your student will be absent. A student is counted absent if arriving after 10:00 a.m. or leaving before 1:00 p.m. When a student is absent for an extended period of time, the student may be required to provide a written excuse from a physician. Being absent from class for 2 weeks without prior notification may result in termination of enrollment. If a student arrives at school later then 8:25 a.m., he will be counted tardy. The students parent/guardian should notify the supervisor as to why the student was tardy. 3 tardies in one quarter will count as one absent. If a student needs to leave school early, the parents must notify the students supervisor. Only parents or designated persons listed on a restricted pick-up form will be allowed to pick up a student. No telephone permission for pick-up will be granted, unless the caller is the person who regularly picks up the child, & is known by the person in charge.
