Where does the waste from sanitary bins go?

It is a common misconception that waste from sanitary bins must be incinerated.

Sanitary bin waste is not clinical or hazardous, and usually goes for landfill, not incineration. European Waste Codes control what waste can go into which landfill. Not all sites are permitted to accept bulk quantities of sanitary waste. Sanitary waste should not be sent for incineration where capacity is overloaded with waste that must be incinerated ie clinical waste.

Exchange bins are taken to a transfer station and the contents emptied into bulk containers for onward shipment.

We gained the approval of major waste management companies in the UK.

Bulked up sanitary waste may travel many miles further to landfill sites with the required permits.

We made sure that the disposable bin was totally acceptable within waste legislation. Whole bin and contents have correct calorific content for incineration in Energy from Waste Facilities.

With the disposable bin, the contents do not leave the bin during the disposal process.

Bin cleansing

Bin is taken to a waste transfer station. The bin is washed requiring water, chemicals and electricity in the process. Solid plastic bin made from fossil based fuels. Hardy construction to withstand delivery and collection handling, washing and re-use.

Made principally from Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC) certified board. Film made from cellulose, not fossil fuel based plastic.

What other elements did we incorporate?

Contract Exchange Service Bin Bins are for women. We have got used to the grey and white utilitarian bins supplied by service contractors. Exchange bins can be washed but surface damage occurs over time. Chemicals and/or fragrances are added to the bin. A glossy waterproof film on the outer & inner surface of the bins. No additional chemicals required.

Checking the odour issue.

In the unlikely event of odour from a bin, the problem will remain until the next bin collection. Solid plastic bins not known what happens to end of life bins. Contents will generally biodegrade in landfill, although there will be an element of plastics such as applicators and wrapper included that may not bio-degrade.

In the unlikely event of odour from a bin, the bin can be swapped out immediately. The majority of material in the disposable bin is bio-degradable including the glossy surface film. Contents as service bins.

Odour from bins is a much overrated problem that occurs very rarely.

We ask for feedback from our customers, and they confirm no odours from our bins.

Will the bins and contents bio-degrade?

Bio-degradability is not an issue if the disposal route is to incineration at an energy from waste facility.

What about operational considerations?

Contract Exchange Service Bin Bin changes For a typical premises, service contract staff find parking for their vehicle, come into the building and show identity badges, and may require escorting around the building by staff.
