Classroom Management Plan

Classroom Rules I implement the common school wide rules such as no gum, cell phones, antibullying or hands off policies, etc Many of my rules stem from one main principle in the classroom, that is, Respect. Respect is three-fold: first, respect the teacher. This branches off into many of the daily aspects of the classroom like raising your hand to speak or permission to leave your seat; subsequently, demonstrating respect for peers includes giving all peers the opportunity to learn and not have their learning be disrupted; lastly, having respect for oneself and making sure that they are doing their best to be successful. One last general rule to ensure that I cover all bases in the classroom is titled Keep Your Dear Teacher Happy! Although comical and at first glance may seem teacher centered rather than student centered, it definitely serves a point and is absolutely student centered. This rule really ensures that there are no loop holes in our classroom rules. With this rule a student is unable to argue, twist, and find someone past a rule; if students are doing something that displeases me, than they are breaking a class rule. As far as being student centered (also what I tell my students at the beginning of the school year), what makes me happiest as their teacher is them being successful. So this rule is really a rule to hold students accountable for reaching the high expectations I have for them. Management Plan/Procedures Tardy: Students who are late to class, without an excuse, must have a tardy slip to come into class. Students are to come in, without disrupting others, and place the tardy slip in the tardy slip basket near the teachers desk; then take their seats and get straight to work.

Absent/Missing Work: Pocket Chart on the wall will have any work or handouts (practice tests, weekly homeworks, note-inserts, worksheets, etc) from the previous day, if any. Students are responsible to make sure to pick up any work that they have missed

Late work is placed in Late Work basket; if it was excused absence then ABSENT should be written on top of the missing work. Homework is written on the Whiteboard next to the objectives for the whole week; and will also be written on the Homework List (list on butcher paper). Each section taught (Math 6, Math 7, Math 7 Accel., etc..) will have their own list of homeworks. Notes are kept in Classroom Notebook for each period. It is the students responsibility to copy notes from a peer or come in and copy the notes from the classroom notebook.

Bathroom Procedures: Ten-Ten Rule: Students are not allowed to use the restrooms the first and last 10 minutes of class period. It is the students responsibility to use the restroom facilities before class. Hall passes are hung on the wall by the door so that students can grab them on the way out without disrupting the class. If Ten-Ten Rule doesnt apply, students must get permission from the teacher to be allowed to leave the classroom. Only 1 boy and 1 girl allowed out of the classroom at any single moment. Not allowed to ask during instruction/notes.

Behavior Binder: Binder is kept in a place easily accessible by the teacher during class. (Likely somewhere near the front where most instruction takes place). Each period has a folder, w/ a sticky note on the front of each periods folder. Misbehavior is kept track on the sticky note (chewing gum, cell phones, etc..) 1st time name goes on sticky its a warning. 2nd name goes on binder its a parent note home. Copies of all parent notes, referrals, etc are kept in each respective classs folder.

Consequences Verbal Warning Moving students seat Parent Note Home (both to place on desk as a warning or fill out and send home for parents to sign). Behavior Binder
