Executive Summary
When I graduate from Arizona State University, I plan to gain experience in working on the medical field with my bachelors degree in Health Science and my degree in Social welfare from my minor. I plan to become a healthy lifestyle coach for children to educate them to be concern about their health and I want to help out children whom come from a low-income family and suit them with support and beneficial information. I also plan to pursue my education and earn a degree to become a Pediatric Nurse later on in the future. These professions require at least one-year experience or more in the medical field, administered support to patients, and additional skills. As I searched for myself in the web, I figured my name came out and the entire social network such as Facebook, twitter, and google+. My name also came out in websites where you can find out information from a specific person by buying an unlimited access online, such as whitepages.com and PublicRecords.com. Besides my wordpress blog posts from TWC301 course being visible, profiles that I made to search for scholarships also appeared such as Zinch.com.

The Future Professional Me

Right after I graduate, I want to help children when they are ill or need assistance by becoming a Healthy Lifestyle coach or a social worker. I am majoring in Health Science and minoring in Social Welfare but I plan to also become a Pediatric Nurse. I plan to start my career in being a health promoter and coach children how to have a healthy lifestyle. With my minor in social welfare, I plan to attend my Hispanic community by helping out families with low income and suit them with support. Since I plan to pursue my career after gaining experience in the medical field, Im interested in becoming a nurse. Not all nurses can speak more than one language. Being bilingual is a must not all minus in America since half of the population in the U.S. is Spanish speaking. My personal experiences have helped me shaped up and pick the right major that suits me best. I became interested in the medical field when I first took my dog to the hospital because he got sick with parvo. As the Doctor explained to me about my dogs health, I learned so much and I enjoyed helping him and taking care of him. Another thing that made me realize the medical field suited me was when my sister gave birth to my niece. The baby was born premature and having the experience of being at the hospital for almost a month visiting her, I realized that becoming a Pediatric Nurse is what I want to become. Seeing how the nurses took care of the babies, especially my baby niece, interested me. Unfortunately my baby niece passed away but I knew the doctors and nurses did their best. When looking for a job, companies are often looking for people who are committed to their work, who are passionate on their job, and people who are loyal and responsible. As a Health Promoter, health coach, medical social worker or a nurse, jobs are looking for people who are willing to have experience on the medical area and those who are supported and provides assistance in health education programs and have knowledge of health related. Job as a Health Promoter: Since Im majoring in Health Science and it is a growing field, there are a lot of different positions that are related to this profession and there will be plenty more in the future. For this major, I found a Health Education Trainer-PER DIEM job in a State Health Program. The job is managed through health care services, health plans, and government-sponsored care plans. The mission is to help people be healthy, secure and comfortable. The job is to be a health education trainer implementing and evaluating health education programs for members and potential members. To discuss and make presentations/performance to increase health knowledge, present various health and prevention services to groups, provide administrative support and compile information, monitor class/health classes, assist with researchers, and collect and track program data for reports. The skills that are required for this job are: Minimum one year of experience planning, teaching/facilitating and evaluating health education classes, having knowledge of managed health care preferred, be a content expert in nutrition/obesity, diabetes, asthma,

hypertension and other chronic diseases preferred, having experience conducting blood pressure and body fat screenings preferred, and having experience working with diverse multicultural communities preferred. Professional Identity 1: For this profession, I evaluated Bonnie Taylor (see Appendix B) who is currently a Sr. Staffing Consulting at Health Net, Inc. Taylor is also a Human Resources Director at Canyon Ranch in Tucson who is a team player with a positive attitude, commitment to excellence, and serves as a strategic business partner to senior management and interface with all levels of the organization. Taylor has been employed in Relations and Preventative Care, has performed in Management/Coaching and Counseling to held policy and manage procedure development. Job as a Medical Social Work: Since Im minoring in Social Welfare, I found a position where they need a Social Worker Case Manager. This position is to be responsible in services of mintraumatic brain injury patients. The duty is to interview caregivers, support systems and coordinate with them in order to determine the patients health and psychological needs. The skills needed for this job is that a Masters in clinical Social Work or Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology must be needed, must have an active valid license in any of the fifty states, must be committed in working liable with people who have special needs. Professional Identity 2: For this profession, I evaluated Julie Teague who was a special assistant to the President at I have a Dream Foundation and was a Senior Recruitment Associate at Teach for America. She is now a full time Social Worker at hospital and Health care in New York.

She deals with financial managements, recommends program analysis and evaluation for her patients, manages public Service Organizations, performs measurement and management, and develops Human Resources. Teague also founds people for a project management. Job as a Pediatric Nurse: I plan to pursue my career into becoming a Pediatric Nurse right after I get experienced in working in the medical field. I found a job at Lucile Packard Childrens Hospital that is hiring Registered Nurses and Managers. They are looking for people who are passionate about the challenge of medicine and the rewards of doing a good job well for those who are in need. Also, they are looking for nurses who explore the qualities of distinctive hospitals and who are willing to learn how to use their personal and professional goals to their mission. The skills for this job are: to have a current State Register Nurse (RN) license, a current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) & Pediatric advance Life Support (PALS), issued by the American Heart Association, and any Previous pediatric and/or cardiac experience is required. Professional Identity 3: For this profession, I evaluated Aleefiya Khan who is a registered Nurse at OConnor Hospital. She has more than five years of practical experience. She implements nursing care for two patients requiring cardiac monitoring and advanced airway management including ventilator dependant critical patients. She conducts focused assessments, prioritizes care, administers medications, formulates care plans and provides patient and

family education. She also coordinates patient care with multidisciplinary health care team.

5 Characteristics
If I were an employer seeking for a Health Promoter, there will be many specific characteristics I will be looking in order to chose identities. The first characteristic I would look to hire a someone will be a person who has a degree in the Health related area, this is because a person should have knowledge about any health care awareness. The second characteristic I will be looking for is people who have at least a minimum of one-year experience in the medical and/or health care area. This is important because people should be familiar with any type of setting they are working on and be familiar with working with different people/clients. The third characteristic is people who have patient-care, it is important for them to be able to approach and have care for other peoples health, healthy lifestyle, and about nutrition. The fourth characteristic I will be looking for is people who can work in teams, especially in multicultural communities because it is important for a health promoter to go to different communities and work with people of different ethnicities and being able to approach them and be cultural competence towards them. The last characteristic I will be looking for is good communication skills. This is important because health promoters should be able to present anything related about health to people who are unfamiliar, they should be able to have a conversation with clients and make their point across

The Current Me
The sites that I am aware that I am visible are facebook, twitter, and tumblr. As I searched for my name Merlyn Reyna in Yahoo, the first thing that popped out was my twitter profile, which is visible for everyone to see, and second, was my facebook. One thing that also popped out which I was surprised was word press deadlines assignments. As I searched in Bing, my twitter and facebook also came out and some of the assignments I did for other classes like commenting on a Live podcast assignment I did for my Intro to Social Work class came out, also and my wordpress blog. As I searched for images on yahoo and Bing, a picture of a friend came out. As I searched for my name in Google, more things popped out besides my twitter, facebook, and my wordpress blog and where I have commented on other blogs and where other people have commented on mine. The postings I have shared in Diigo came out, a site called MyLife.com, whitepages.com, and PublicRecords. Com (which are also listed in Appendix C) pooped out where you have to buy a unlimited access in order to see my information; where I live, my telephone number, age, and relatives (which is scary), my Google+ account came out, and Zinch.com where it lists the scholarships I'm interested and that I have liked. For images on Google, more actual images of myself came out, and more pictures of friends and relatives. As I tried for my full name on all the sites, Merlyn Larissa Reyna, less information came out, just twitter and facebook popped out and just one image in Google popped out and that's the one I had used as a default picture in my twitter account. So far for most of this search engines, I only popped out until the fourth page. Since my name is not really common, Merlin people around the world popped out or people named Reyna or Reina.

Bridging the Gap!

One of my strengths is to help out anyone who is in need of assistance. I am currently a tutor for an after school program where we work one on one with children from kinder to eight grade. We set the example to show leadership roles by helping our tutees in their homework, talk to them if they seem to have a problem, and talk about the importance of continuing with school. Another strength I have is that I care for others and I am very determined when I set a goal I do my best to achieve it. Volunteering is one of my greatest aspects. I have volunteered in helping making blankets for children who are sick in hospitals. I also have volunteered by giving out food to the ones in need with my church called "Church of God for the Nations. Also, by teaching children Bible lessons from my church and helped in their summer school program for 3 years. I have also volunteered by recording my Pastor preaching on live and by canvassing, giving out flyers and knocking on doors to support Eve Nuez who was running for House of Representive in 2008. I think these experiences will help me to develop my character better with working with any type of clients in the medical field. One of my weaknesses is that I still get shy while being around people who I dont know. At the beginning I can be very quiet and serious but as see a specific group or person more often, my attitude changes. I think this weakness can overcome if I try to attend more volunteer options like talking to a large crowd over a change or maybe doing more canvassing like a volunteer experience I had before. Another weakness I have is that I been told by my English professor that my sentences are too vague. I do believe I have improved since then and I know I can overcome this by taking my work into a writing

center on-campus before submitting my work. Knowing that Nurses, Social workers, and health promoters need to write legible and clear for their patients to understand them, I think I can achieve this on time before I start my career.
