ANDY WARHOL

Andrew Warhola (known as Andy Warhol) was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on the 6th of August 1928. Andy Warhol was known for his work which was screen printing, painting and filmmaking. His work was different because of the different patterns that he used in many of his work. Andy Warhol says that the time when he had chorea was the most important time in his life because when he was sick and was an outcast from school he would draw, listen to music and collect pictures of movie stars around his bed. Andy Warhol is important because he was the greatest leading American pop artist and had a very different perspective to art as other artists do, his paintings became unique and famous because of its simple and colored designs (Campbell soup, Elvis, etc.) Also he was the person who developed pop art the most and was most absorbed into it since he loved it so much. He researched in many different types of arts and had very good results for all of them. Andy Warhol said many important quotes and one of them were Being good in business is the
most fascinating kind of art. Making money is art and working is art and good business is the best art. I think that Andy Warhol is a person that really liked earning money and using it

probably because since he was a child his family didnt have much to spare so it was a whole new experience for him. Below are the evaluations for 3 of Andy Warhols Work:

Artist: Andy Warhol Name of work: eight Elvises Size: 12ft Location: this piece of work has not been seen since Angeles 1963 This Andy piece of work is significant because it is the only art work that he has never doubled (never been done twice) this is also a piece that he did on his own without any assistance. Also it is significant because of the technique that he uses for the space and the fading of Elvis

Artist: Andy Warhol Name of work: Marilyn Diptych Size: 205.44 cm x 289.56 cm Location: Tate Gallery, London This piece is significant because it uses the face of Marilyn Monroe and also each face of the print is not at all the same (the saying could be put for this painting same, same but different). It is also significant because even though the painting doesnt have that much detail it is still effectual and has a message behind the painting even if its a good meaning or bad. Artist: Andy Warhol Name of work: 32 Campbell soup cans Size: each of the cans- 50.8 cm x 40.6 cm Location: Museum of modern art (New York) This piece is significant because it expresses Andy Warhols view on modern culture by putting anything that is used or eaten in those modern to become art on the canvas. Another significant thing is that theyre just cans they dont have anything special to it but once its created into something unique and different its something else and something special.
