Entering transactions 1) Enter transactions on the "Journal" tab by entering the date, description, check number, account number,

and the debit and credit amount. When the account number is entered the account name should appear automatically. Changing account names 1) Change account names by using the "Accounts" tab. In the Accounts tab choose the cell that has the name you want to rename and rename it. Viewing a ledger report 1) To view a ledger report select the filter box in cell E1 2) Next select the "select all" box to unselect everything. 3) Then select the box for the account name you wish to view. The journal will then be filtered with only the account selected being shown. To see the entire journal again select the filter box in cell E1 and then select the box for "select all", and the entire journal should appear. Viewing the cash ledger report with a running balance 1) Follow the steps for "Viewing a ledger report" for cash. 2) Next hide columns "D" and "E". 3) Select the visible cells and copy them. 4) Paste the selection underneath the green highlighted cells on the "Ledger" tab for cash ledger. There should now be a running balance for cash. Viewing any ledger report with a running balance 1) Follow the steps for "Viewing a ledger report" for the account name. 2) Next hide columns "C" thru "E". 3) Select the visible cells and copy them. 4) Paste the selection underneath the green highlighted cells on the "Ledger" tab for "normal debit balance" or "normal credit balance" depending on whether the account has a normal debit or credit balance. 5) In the blue colored cell enter in the account number. The account name and opening balance should then appear.
