Republican Candidates who have confirmed their participation in addition to Long are Julius Melendez and Mark Oxner. Announced Candidate John Quinones has failed to commit to this debate as of press time. Long welcomes the opportunity to debate the pressing issues important to the Citizens of the new Ninth Congressional District and is looking forward to meeting his contenders in this forum. I welcome my fellow Republican candidates to this race as this gives the people of Central Florida an opportunity to study each of us as they carefully consider which candidate will best serve them and which candidate can best counter the liberal policies of Alan Grayson (the likely Democrat Candidate for the November election). says Long. Long continues Im running for Congress because we need real conviction, substantive solutions and principled people to stop the madness in Washington. The Obama/Grayson school of governing has run up trillions of dollars in debt, with no plan in sight to balance the budget. And no plan will work until Congress is led by people who act based on our nations founding principles of less government and protecting liberty first. - MORE -

District 9 Congressional Candidate Debate 2 April 30, 2012

I dont need a poll to tell me that adding trillions of dollars of debt on top of the $14 trillion Washington has already borrowed is not acceptable to the American Citizens. And I dont need a consulting team to tell me that balancing the Federal budget is at the crisis stage. Waffling on a budget plan with no resolution for almost the entire Obama Presidential term is not leadership. I am running for Congress to supply the Leadership that is sorely lacking in the current Congress so that we can solve this crisis. This Candidates Forum/Debate is open to the Public and the Citizens of the newly created Ninth District are particularly encouraged to attend. - 30 Todd Long is a conservative small business owner and talk show host from Winter Park running for the Republican nomination in Floridas 9th Congressional District. He is the published author of The Conservative Comeback, a book that gives clear and substantive solutions to Americas biggest challenges based on Americas founding principles.
