Assumed department oversight of in-house Event Management System and Archtics ticket tracking database, streamlining workflow processes and ensuring accuracy and credibility of data. Reconciled over 300 expense reports per year. Red-flagged 10% for noncompliance with NBA Business Expense Policy or incorrect project coding. Took pride of ownership of 2010 Hall of Fame Induction project by serving as line producer for two (3) camera roundtable shoots with 1960 and 1992 Mens Olympic Basketball teams (13 Hall of Famers combined). Oversaw comprehensive logistics planning including site selection, manpower scheduling (local crew, PA, grip, gaffer), catering, set decoration. Reported to Sr. VP, Production Operations and Planning. Conducted due diligence negotiating agreements with hotel properties in cities of potential NBA Finals participants to hold available inventory, at below-market rates (generally under $200 per/night), for 80 NBA staff/vendors. Averted potential hotel room shortage crisis during NBAs signature event with little to no monetary liabilities through rigorous cold-calling, follow-up, and coordination with network of hotel contacts throughout country. Expanded client relationships with major hotel chains, freight logistics companies, rental car agencies. Instituted utilization of NBA Finals staff/vendor Charter. Established numerous processes and procedures that enhanced time and cost-efficiency, thus improving event coordination workflow and cutting unnecessary expenses such as exorbitant commercial flight costs and ancillary baggage expenses for crew gear. Supervised logistics coordination which included notification to approx. 180 staff/vendors of departure time/location, seating plan, directions to/from charter to hotels, pre-departure/in-flight catering, luggage/gear check-in requirements, rental vehicle pickup/return, ticket distribution and contingency planning. Facilitated continuous improvement of operational procedures and best practices leading to successful operational execution for the past 15 years.

OPERATIONS MANAGER

1996 - 1999

Established open communication that promoted maximum efficiency by facilitating meetings with senior staff, producers, creative directors, to discuss cross-platform (internet & TV) content integration, confirm mutual understandings, and ensure pipeline of two-way communication. Cultivated philosophy of take the time to listen among two direct reports, creating an environment of swift, confident decision-making guided by precedent. Evaluated over 75 basketball savvy applicants to fill 25 coveted, entry-level Production Trainee positions to support GameTime, the fast-paced, flagship program of up-to-the-minute news, scores, game highlights, and live look-ins of games in progress, airing live six days per week on specialty channel NBATV (currently 60 million U.S. TV homes). Designed live game logging techniques and procedures to meet expectations of show producers and show format. Completed accelerated TV production skills training program for new hires, within budget, ahead of aggressive deadline with no overtime accrued. Through ongoing coaching and timely performance management feedback, increased employee morale and decreased employee turnover with over 90% of all Production Trainees ultimately earning promotions to midand senior-level management positions.
