While working in European level, with youngsters coming from different cultural backgrounds, youth workers should have the skills to be able to manage the conflict that might appear and especially conflicts which happen from cultural differences. As youth workers, we often face conflictions situations among participants in different activities in national or international level. For this reason we think that this training course can provide useful information and tools in conflict management topic for youth workers and they can use afterwards in their job with young people. This project is designed around the notion of a successful and effective intercultural dialogue among individuals of the society, particularly young people. It provides experiential learning and know how in the field of active participation, intercultural dialogue and environment, ICL and promotes the cultural diversity as a value of intercultural societies.

The training course will be held in Vlora city, from 16-23 May, 2012. Participants arrival is foreseen during 16 May during the day until the afternoon before 16 00 and depart from Tirana on 23 in the morning. The objectives: - Train 27 youth workers how to prevent conflictive situation in youth work. - Equip participants with tools on how to approach different conflictive situations in youth work - Promote sharing of experiences and good practices on conflict resolution - Explore impact of cultural misunderstandings in conflictual situation especially in EVS and other actions of YiA - Promote the non formal education approach as a powerful method of dealing with conflict - Promote the YIA program and the space and support it gives to youngster to explore different topic in a multicultural environment The whole training course will be based on the non formal education approach and learning by doing letting space to participants to learn through use of different methods such as: small/big group work, role plays, simulation exercises, debates, theoretical input and practical work, real conflict cases to solve, etc. Kolb Learning cycle will be applied during the whole program. More concretely we want to increase their skills in: active listening, negotiating, mediation, and communication. Task for participants: Participants should prepare presentation of their realities in each country in relation with culture and attitude to conflict. Note: The sums are in Euro, and we will reimburse 70% of the total cost of the foreseen travel cost sum. Info about your accommodation: Vlora is a nice city located in the south of Albania in Adriatic and Jonian Sea. From Tirana to Vlora travel last 2.5 minutes. The hotel is situated in the city in the hill with a very nice view of the city. The name of the hotel is: ALBA EKO situated in hill of Kuzumbaba. Be prepared to be accommodated with 2 OR 3 people in rooms. The hotel is nice and each room is equipped with bathroom, air conditioning, TV. The participants will be mixed nationalities in rooms in order that people mix together and find easy way to create a strong group dynamic

Meals are served in the hotel restaurant. Our working room is in the hotel as well. There is not still a website since the hotel is new. Please prepare a short description of your organization in English for the presentation to other participants. Bring photos, brochures, newspapers or anything that can present activities of your organization for the exhibition. You should be prepared for a short presentation and it's not necessary to use computer or other equipment. You get an opportunity to make posters or other creative things for your presentation what you leave on the wall for longer time and the others can check it anytime. An intercultural evening will take place on second day of activity. Please bring some typical food, drink, national specialties, songs, instruments, brochures etc. to present your culture for the rest of the group. Bring your bath suit swimming to have a nice swimming in sea Good mood and enthusiasm Regarding the prices in Albania: 1 euro = 137Leke (Albanian money) . You could bring euro with you and can change in Leke currency in city. There are exchange offices and banks in town that are functioning till 18.00 oclock in afternoon.
