This means that players can only harm one another in PvP (Player vs. Player) specific scenarios (see On Duty for additional information). All powers include a Damage, or DPS (damage per second), role as well.

Movement Mode: This will specify how the character will get around the world. They can fly, run with super-speed, or jump and glide with acrobatics.

Weapon: The weapon you choose will determine what skills and fighting combos you obtain throughout the game.

Summary: When all gameplay options have been selected, you will be shown a summary screen. At that point, you may make adjustments to any of the gameplay options through the summary menu, or you may choose to move on and customize the look of your character by selecting "Costume."

When there are no more items on which to roll, the window will automatically close. The outcome of the Roll will appear in the Loot chatbox window.

When the current item is assigned, the next item in the queue will automatically be displayed for you to assign. This will continue until there are no more items to assign, at which point the window will close automatically. You may click the red button at the top right of the window to close the window. As long as there is still group loot remaining to assign, you may reopen the window again.

Choosing a Role: A character's role is based off of the power type chosen in character create. There are four possible roles, Tank, DPS, Healer and Controller. All players may choose DPS when selecting a role. A player may choose more than one role. Cancelling a Queue: Cancel a queue by clicking the cancel button with the mouse when the queued scenario is highlighted. You may also cancel a queue by opening up the scenario and clicking the instance button again. Group Queuing: If a player is in a group, only the group leader can queue the group. Players that are not the group leader will see a lock on the scenarios.

Pending Group Queues:

A Player gets a pending group queue when the group leader queues the group for an Alert, Arena, Raid, Legends match or Duo. The group leader's screen will turn into pending queue mode and will show a small window for the other group members which will show who has responded to the queue remission. The group members will receive a popup asking if they want to join the group queue which will send them into the on Duty menu in the PDA. The group members will enter group queuing mode once in the On Duty menu in the PDA and see all of their group members and who have responded. Once the group members have responded, the group will be placed in the queue. Once their instance is ready, they will all receive a popup asking if they want to enter the instance.

Reasons a player can be removed from a queue: 1. A queued player joins a group. 2. A player left the group and the group was disbanded. 3. A player in the group took too long to respond to the queue invite. PvP Brackets: If a group of players queue for a PvP instance, they will all need to be in the same bracket. Here are the brackets at the time of launch (subject to change):

Arenas Levels 1-5 Levels 6-10 Levels 11-15 Levels 16-20 Levels 21- 25 Levels 26- 29 Level 30 Legends PvP o Levels 1-29 o Level 30

Ready Instances:

A ready instance occurs when a player gets a popup that a queue is ready but then doesn't enter right away. The player is then given 100 seconds in which to enter the instance.

Your promotional items will then appear under the Claim Items column on the right side of the screen. Highlight the item that you would like and select "Claim". Please note that you must have room in your inventory to claim an item. Once claimed, exit the Marketplace and enter your Inventory to access the item.

Vendor
Vendors allow you to buy, sell, or repair items.

Buy

Items can be purchased with in-game currency, Influence, or Tokens. In-game currency is represented with a dollar sign, Influence will be labeled as such, and Tokens will have a picture of the token needed (see Inventory/Currencies section for additional information). The items available will be shown on the right side of the menu while the left side of the menu will display the tooltip for the item selected. In addition to the name and description of the item, a tooltip will include requirements to equip the item (e.g., 'Requires Level 30') and the "stat deltas" that would be provided if you equipped this item (i.e., how much better or worse will this item be compared to the one you currently have equipped).

Sell

Some equipment that you're no longer using can be sold to Vendors for in-game currency.

Repair

Items lose durability and become 'worn-out' over time through battle. You can check your item durability in the item tooltip in your Inventory.

Item benefits are gradually diminished the more an item is damaged. If an item loses all durability no benefits from the item will be applied. If your equipment is significantly worn, a broken shield icon will appear next to the minimap on your HUD (see HUD section for more information). Choosing the Repair option at a Vendor will restore items to their full durability. Items may be repaired individually or all together.

Buy Back

This is a list of items you've recently sold to a Vendor. This gives you the opportunity to purchase them back, just in case a mistake was made.

Mail

Inventory and send them to the recipient. You may also attach in-game currency to messages.

Messages without attachments may be deleted by clicking the X in the message header.

When the Bank is opened, you will see your Inventory slots on the right side of the menu and your Bank slots on the left. Move items by clicking and dragging to an available slot. If an item is moved to an occupied slot the items will swap places. You may also place items in your Shared Bank. You can reach the Shared Bank by clicking the "Shared Bank" button. The Shared Bank is shared amongst all your characters on the same account and server. "No-trade" or bound items cannot be placed in a Shared Bank.

Disconnected
As the name suggests, DC Universe Online is played 100% online. On rare occasion, servers may need to be taken down for maintenance. During those times, if you attempt to login, you will see the Disconnected screen. This screen will also appear if the server is brought down while you are playing (though a warning will generally be messaged to all players beforehand letting them know when the server is coming down). If you see this screen, please try back again soon!
