PRAYER AND PRAISE

Pray for opportunities to reach out to families in need in our community. Pray that we can show the love of Christ through our words and actions towards those in need. Please pray for our church's loved ones who are far from the Lord. Pray that the Lord would break through the walls of their hearts with His love and His grace. Please pray that as a church, we would be sensitive to the Lord's leading, and be responsive to His conviction and leading in our lives moment by moment. Praise God for a recent evangelism campaign in Burkina Faso, Africa. "On the first night, before the programme had even started, about five boys, ages 12-16, arrived and said they had come to give their lives to Christ!". Later that night, four men and eight youth made commitments. On the following night, the villagers cancelled the evangelism programme due to a funeral and then changed their minds and allowed it to proceed; seven young people received Jesus that night. "We are reminded once again how God orchestrates these events and prepares the way before us," writes Kevin. Pray for these new believers.

We know that it can take a lot of energy to attend a new church, so please note that: The toilets are located down the passage to the right as you exit the sanctuary. We have a crche available diagonally from the sanctuary should you wish to take your infant out from the service. The Childrens Ministry begins part way through the service. This is for children between the ages of 3 13 years. These take place in the hall during the sermon. A notice will appear on the screen when it is time to dismiss your children.

Two of our local churches are holding seminars on sharing your faith in Christ, and have extended invitations to the wider Christian community to join them. For information on times and places, please see Pastor Matt today, or email him at mordaunt6@gmail.com A chance to help those in need . On the weekend of 25 27 May 2012, Dianne McGowan is going to take part in the 40hour Famine. She watched a programme on a Christian TV channel about the children in Africa who are starving and suffering terribly with related illnesses and it was placed on her heart to do something for these children, even it is only in a small way. If you would like to sponsor Dianne, with donations either big or small, your generosity would be very much appreciated.

I just dont understand the Bible. Thats a comment I hear quite often, even from believers. We can understand why those without Christ are unable to comprehend biblical concepts, but why do those who know Him struggle? Some people think that a seminary education is the answer, but I have met several trained pastors and teachers who didnt really understand the Word of God. They knew facts, but they had no excitement for the Scriptures or for the Lord. The key is not education but obedience. As we act on what we read, the Holy Book comes alive, and we begin to hear and understand the voice of God. However, if we have not obeyed what Hes previously revealed to us, why would He give us His deeper truths? The secret of the Lord is for those who fear Him (Ps. 25:14), and those who fear Him are the ones who obey His commandments and are promised a good understanding (Ps. 111:10). Living a fleshly lifestyle of disobedience to the Lord clouds our eyes, diminishes our ability to hear, and fogs our thinking. Although we have full access to the mind of Christ, our attachment to our own sinful ways keeps us from tapping into the rich treasures of wisdom that are found in His Word. As you read the Scriptures each day, look for Gods instructions. Then with reliance upon the Holy Spirit, commit to do what He tells you. When you obey His voice, Hell reveal deeper truths, and your understanding will grow. Soon your time in the Word will become a delight instead of a duty.
