You are hereby summoned to attend a MEETING of NEWPORT PARISH COUNCIL to be held on MONDAY 14 MAY 12 at the RIVERSIDE CENTRE, ISLE OF WIGHT commencing at 6.45pm for the transaction of the business set out in the agenda below.

ANNUAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL AGENDA


1. To elect a Chairman of the Parish Council and receive the Declaration of Acceptance of Office of the Chairman. To elect a Vice-Chairman of the Parish Council and receive the Declaration of Acceptance of Office of the Vice-Chairman. To review and update the Register of Interests if applicable Standing Orders - To review and adopt Standing Orders for 2012 (attached) Financial Regulations - To review and adopt Financial Regulations for 2012 (attached) with the following amendments: 3.4 increase the limit to 300 Insert item 3.5 The Clerk may incur expenditure on behalf of the Council for routine purchases e.g stationery, stamps and office equipment, provided there is a budgetary provision for the expenditure, subject to a limit of 200. The Clerk shall report the action to the Council as soon as practicable thereafter. Insert item 3.6 The Allotment Working Party may incur expenditure on behalf of the Council which is necessary to carry out any repair, replacement or other work which is necessary to the smooth operation of the sites, subject to a limit of 300. The action shall be reported to the Council as soon as practicable thereafter. 7.1 Remove reference to the IW Council and replace with DouglasTonks 5. Representatives to outside bodies IWALC plus deputy Newport Rivers Any other groups as appropriate

Committees: To appoint a Planning Committee To consider the appointment of other committees Working Parties To consider forming a number of working parties: Allotments Transport and Tourism Events (Firework, Christmas lights and Fair) Parish Plan/MVAAP Chairmans Regalia To consider the purchase of a badge of office for the Chairman (one example of type attached) Option A with silver gilt, ribbon and case - 788 Option B with sliver Gilt, ribbon and case - 472 Job Titles To consider a change to the job title for the Clerk and Assistant Clerk If a change is resolved there are a number of options proposed: Clerk: Newport Parish Manager, Executive Officer, Chief Officer, Council Executive Manager Assistant Clerk: Newport Technical Officer
