Secured access to critical reimbursement streams for local public charter schools, enabling access to millions in local and federal funding to support public education in the Washington, DC. On behalf of a Medicaid provider, recovered more than $500 million of past receivables, as well as restructured process for ongoing revenue recovery. Accomplishments:
Co-Chaired annual city Budget Review Team, which created and shepherded the annual budget. Identified operational savings, closing back-to-back budget gaps in excess of $100 million. Coordinated development and implementation of citywide strategic plan and citizen summits. Increased federal funding to city over $200 million over prior years, as well as White House, regional and federal agency coordination, as well as led local and federal initiative to secure record financial support for education reform initiatives. Created the Districts first Ex-Offender Coordinating Council and Constituency Office, providing comprehensive reintegration, workforce readiness and job placement support for returning offenders.
