Woman Welcome to the theatre, where love is champion, Young man& young woman Welcome to the theatre Woman To the theatre Man The theatre Young woman Welcome to the theatre, where youre embarrassed to go for a piss Woman Welcome to the theatre Man To The theatre Woman The theatre Man Welcome to the theatre,

Man Welcome to the theatre Woman To the theatre Young man & young woman The theatre Man Welcome to the theatre, where escapism is our theme. Woman Welcome to the theatre Man To The theatre Young man & young woman The theatre

Woman Where we hope to live out our dreams. Man We travelling pheasant mistrals Shall weave you a tale tonight A tale that will sit within the tapestry of your thought. Woman We travelling peasant minstrels Shall tell you a story tonight A story well worth the ticket you bought Young man We travelling peasant minstrels should not build this up too much For they look like theyre not going to enjoy it anyway. Woman We travelling peasant minstrels shall stick to what we rehearsed, If we want to receive our pay Young man We travelling peasant minstrels join the hero of our tale Woman Upon the morning of a Friday, He awakes in a bed, full of longing and lust. In the monotony of perfection he has discovered disgust.

Man He is the prince of a city. The largest city, of all the land. He has everything he could wish for He has a life most plentiful and grand. Woman But he knows something is wrong He knows it deep within his heart He knows that something must change Young man He just isnt quite sure where to start Greensleves is played on violin, drum and bass beat begins behind violin. Prince awakes and turns off alarm clock. He is wearing a sheet, looks out over balcony

Prince: How can a princes life be so mundane? I would trade in my fortune and fame To exist in a time where love knows no tame Boundaries paved with rain but gain through passion. I fail to fashion myself a bride, I long for this ever changing tide To consume me and wash away the lies that run through me I try to hide from my Fathers watchful eyes That begrudgingly judge me, and with sorrow sigh. With no soul mate Id rather die.

I must find a woman that loves me In order to do this she must not see That I am part of the royalty, She must take me for who I am. I must tear off my gold and jewellery to become a man and conceal my identity to succeed in my plan. Enter Noah and Ramsay the princes two best friends. Ramsay Yes Prince! Noah Now then Prince! Prince No my friends, you must refrain From calling me by that name Noah Why must we refrain from calling you by the name Of which every last day has been the same? Ramsay You are the son of the Citys King, We could only possibly call you one thing Prince Would I not exist if a name had not been given to me?

Ramsay Just tell us what youre doing Noah Yeah, put us out our misery Prince You see my friends, this plan I have constructed is mine, And...Im not sure I wish to share it at this time. Noah No no Prince, no. You know you cant do that, You cant go to tell us something And then withdraw it back To the darkness of your mind Where no matter how we rummage It will be impossible to find. Prince Now curiosity rears its inquisitive head When only moments ago you wished for my plan not to be said! Noah Oh please mighty Prince! Ramsay Or whatever you wish to be called Noah Tell us the ingenious plan For we are ever so enthralled

Sarcastically

Prince First you chomp at the bit Now you serenade me with sarcasm The lowest form of wit Noah Now, dear prince, arrogance is not a virtue Tell us this plan, or Ramsay will hurt you. Prince Alright, fair shout, Let me explain what this is all about, Were constantly surrounded by woman that only what us for one thingRamsay -Yeah I know its great! Prince But before too long we will reap the re-percussions That this is bound to bring, Im not talking about our sex lifeIm talking about finding a genuine wife! I need a woman that wants me for me In order to do this she cannot see That I am part of the royalty For then her actions will surely be affected by greed Which is not something anyone needs. Ramsay So whats the plan then prince? What do you intend to do?

Prince Something that I invite you to do too, Secretly strip ourselves of our status Reject the church Noah You think its easy To revolutionize yourself secretly? Think of what the vicar would say Let alone your family! Ramsay How can we go about it without it destroying our integrity? Prince I have thought on the vicar, I have come to realise the power shift that has taken place. I am the son of the citys king And he cannot refuse the authority of my grace. He will play along, as if he never knew For since we had wings, I think its about time we flew. End scene

Scene 2 Church. Vicar is kneeling praying. Noah bursts in.

Noah Vicar! Dear Vicar! The Prince is on his way here, and has something bizarre to tell you! Vicar Thank you Noah, yes hide over there! Comic kafuffle as vicar hides Noah. Noah is hidden badly. Vicar goes to return to the position he was in but falls over and groans in agony. Prince walks in, sees this strange position the vicar is in and watches for a moment, unnoticed, bemused and confused. Vicar becomes aware of his presence and consequently lets out a little scream Prince I scare you? Vicar Give me a heart attack is what youd do! Prince Then it would be a heart attack for two. Vicar Thank you, I think, so Prince, what brings you here? Prince Never mind what brings me here, What were you doing over there?

Vicar Err, just trying out a new religion Seeing what the fuss is about Prince are the finest vicar this city has to offer Without a shadow of a doubt. What is this new religion? Tell me what you found out. Vicar I, young price, have come to realise That the fruits of life are spread far and wide And to quote the holy book...chapter one...page thirteen for words a mans gotta try all the fruits of the forest Do you know what I mean? Prince I dont recall the holy book saying anything of the sort In fact Im pretty certain a polar opposite lesson is taught Helps vicar up Vicar By a cat my tongue is caught! Mocking the princes rhyme You think you knowledge of the book is greater than mine? Prince I think its viable to say you cant even sense the divine! Vicar Then why do you seek my education, Week after week? You

struggles

Pour your heart out at my confession, Whining about how your future is bleak! Prince Because my father forces me! You think I would share with you willingly The trials and tribulations My life has dealt me Vicar You are the son of the Citys king What trials and tribulations could your life possibly bring? Prince Love loss through lack of labour. Vicar The lack of labour? It is surely a dream for a teenager Prince Yet recently a realisation has revealed itself to me Vicar The prince has had an epiphany! Care to share this information with me? Care to darken my illuminative blindness And stop my mind from being free? Prince I dont want to be here vicar,

Conversing with you causes the flesh of my ear, to sear. And dont get me started on the way you look at me in your confession booth You fucking queer! Prince goes to the door Vicar Walk out that door and face the wrath of your father. Prince stops Prince Oppressive confession, thats typical of the church, Alright, then vicar, you have a deal. Vicar Come into the booth and reveal what you have concealed Vicar and price move into the booth Prince Forgive me father, For this will be my last sin; I will never after ask for forgiveness again. For tomorrow my life will begin Vicar Too good for the church now? Is that what youre trying to tell me?

Mock

Have you thought for a second about your father? The disgrace this will bring on your family? Prince This is where the difference lies Between you and I. I have conspired a master plan To ensure my honour will not die Vicar What is this master plan? Or do you endeavour to leave me in the dark? Prince To ensure the fire of this plan ignites You must create the spark! Vicar So you seek a favour? Yet seconds ago you almost fled and flew! Prince This favour benefits me as well as you. How do you think it will look? For my personal tutor in spirituality If I turn my back on the one thing my father thinks matters to me? Vicar I always give credit Where credit is due

And this blasphemous blackmail Demands much credit for you. Prince So we have a deal? I turn my back on the church And you keep your lips sealed. Vicar Yes prince, we will both be forsaken if not Still my curiosity begs For you to reveal your plot. Why have you turned your back on the church?

Prince I must play my game With my cards close to my chest For it does not suit the royalty To be under unnecessary unrest I consider us both through different means blessed and now I shall fly vicar no longer possessed by the oppressed. Prince exits. The vicar watches him leaves then beckons Noah out from the shadows.

Vicar Noah, I speak to you now, Not as a tutor, But as a member of the hierarchy. I order you to occupy the princes presence And watch his every move Dont allow him to breathe a sentence Without you knowing who its to. Report back to me on a daily basis And may the hierarchy protect you. Noah bows and exits. End scene

Prince Out Queen I did not wish for an answer so weak Prince Ramsay and Noah will be here shortly So forgive me for leaving so abruptly Prince goes to his room Surely I am of an age Where my mother can no longer confine me to this cage We must define a page, that we both can read from Where she will not constrict our harmony By singing a different song Then our melody will transgress to a utopia of emotion. Her suffocating loving devotion is a poisons potion Not a clear succulent solution Noah and Ramsay enter Noah Oh do stop this melodramatic whine! You think you are the only person who has problems with their parents At this time? Prince What have your parents done to cause you to speak in this way?

Scene 3 Royal palace. The queen of the City, the Princes mother is waiting for him to come home.

Queen Prince! Where have you been for the past nights of this week? No answer to share the answers I seek?

Noah Same old shit mate, just a different day. So whats the plan for tonight? Prince My plan is to get far away from my mothers sight. Lets go for a drink, And see where the night takes us from there. Is it me, or can you smell a sate of ecstasy Potent in the air They laugh, and leave. Queen I worry about my son Again the darkness of the night engulfs him Without a second thought to his closest kin I fear a dark sin has taken him under his wing I can feel the wind of madness soaring within I can feel temptation beginning to win I can feel frustration breeding bloody creation I can feel its sting. I cannot cause the sound of redemption to ring I pause for inspiration to bring the right words to my lips, so I can send them to his ears and encourage him to break free from his negative peers.

Scene 4 Pub. Pre drinks. Prince Noah and Ramsay are sitting on a table in the middle. A table is to the left of them and one to the right of them. One has to men sitting on it. The other has an old man, a young man and a woman sitting on it. Noah Well then friends, This place seems as good as any To inebriate ourselves with alcohol And be merry Ramsay A nice quiet place to get the night started Prince And then without a trace We shall be departed Onto a space where base rattles bones And we will experience our first taste Of methadrone Attention moves to the side table with the two men on it Man one I disagree whole heartedly In my vision I see a nation that is free Free from the grip of a dying economy By destroying the impure that decays our society My ethnicity dictates my priority

End scene

And these job thieving bastards have really started to bother me. They are clearly a lesser human being than I. And for this cause I would gladly die. Attention moves to the other table Old Man I am an old man That has managed to survive Whilst masses of people around me have died I went head first into war, a bore the flag with pride No with old age my body is sore, I just want to sit inside With a pint and a cigarette, nothing more. Time is something I cannot bide. Attention moves back to the table with two men Man two Well I believe in a demographic society Where ethnicity does not dictate priority I will die before the governing authority Is lead by the likes of your minority I cannot fathom understanding For why youre so derogatory To a human being because theyre different And thats what bothers me. Prejudice blinds your sight, The freedom to think, believe and say what you like Is a basic human right And just because these people are different to you, You think its them you need to fight?

What you believe is wrongSo shut the fuck up and get out of my sight! Attention moves to old mans table Young man Old man, I have to make you understand Times have changed since your generation ruled this land I realise this is not what you had planned But my life is at risk due to that cigarette in your hand The smoke fills my lungs and tastes of decay The smell on my clothes lingers for days And all this for that cigarette you blaze? Its not fair that I am constricted by your old fashioned days. Young woman Try and open your eyes To see the obvious compromise Surely both of you can be pleased By emphasizing with each others made up minds Why not let the pubs, clubs, and workplaces decide? Why not publicly vote to conclude Where each party can freely reside? Attention moves to princes table Ramsay What are these people talking about? Prince I wonder if that man can define irony

Noah I wonder if that man has a cigarette for me Prince and Noah move to respectable tables, they return in sync. Prince is smoking a cigarette.

come back and grab Prince; they all go outside for a cigarette. Ramsay is hanging off prince and giving him a head massage. Noah It appears Ramsay Is in a state of ecstasy Prince Well light his cigarette Before it gets the best of me Noah I see the prince Has already found tonights princess Prince Being away from her causes my heart un-rest Noah I think thats a bit much prince. Do you fancy a key? Prince I think now is the last time you will see me tonight.

Prince Drink up then lads They drink the rest of their drinks Noah Lets go They leave Prince Could he define irony? Noah Ironically no.

End scene

Noah No Prince! I cannot let you out of my sight! Prince Noah, you are a good friend And I appreciate your concern

Scene 5 The club. A mostly improvised scene. The prince gets talking to a girl. They talk for some time. Noah and Ramsay disappear for some time. They

But the time you wish to spend with me Will have to wait its turn Noah Why do you want to leave? To spend the night with a whore? Prince Within this whore I see a beauty that is pure Noah Your physical attraction Has left you blatantly blind Pure beauty is surely Harder to find Prince If Im making a mistake, Noah There will be a lesson to learn from it Until then I will conduct my actions as I see fit. Ill see you tomorrow After my meeting with the vicar In the meantime I suggest you . . . Consume a-lot more liquor. Prince exits Ramsay Relax Noah, Im sure...

Noah starts to exit Where are you going? Noah Nowhere Ramsay stay here, Ill be back soon! Ramsay is left alone. He looks around, goes to mingle with a group of people, decides against, then goes to mingle with a different group, this group includes grace. End Scene

Scene 6 Church. Vicar is kneeling praying. Noah runs in, out of breath. Vicar Noah please take a seat Noah Vicar, I regret to inform you I have suffered a defeat. The prince has escaped my company To spend the night with a common girl Where he is staying and what her name is Im afraid I cannot tell Vicar This is dyer news indeed Noah

For the hierarchy has foreseen The prince will grace the presence of an un-fit female And produce a child un-clean, If the one he is with now Is the one of this prophecy Then down from the sky will thunder fiery debris And on your head Noah will be The collapse of the hierarchy! Noah How can I stop this Vicar? How can I redeem my disgrace? Vicar You must find the girl That goes by the name of grace And to prevent this tale of woe You must take the princes placeYour seed must occupy the womb Of the Princes Grace. Leave me now Noah, I must meditate on this further If you do not succeed, I will be witness to your murder.

Back at the club. Ramsay is chatting to a group of people, Noah enters, sees him and pulls him aside.

Noah Ramsay, what was the name Of the girl Prince left with tonight? Ramsay I cant remember her name Noah, Why, is everything alright? Noah This is a matter of upmost importance Ramsay Try to remember her name, please think very carefully. Ramsay I cant remember Noah, But I was talking to a girl a minute ago Whose name was Grace Im sure shell know Noah Whos name was what? Ramsay Whos name was grace Noah Is she still here?

End scene

Scene 7

Ramsay Yes Noah Can you see her? Ramsay Yes Noah Can you describe her face? Ramsay Shes. . .the most beautiful human being Noah. I swear that much is true But why Noah? Why do you insist I describe her to you? Noah I have been given an order Ramsay An order you could not possibly comprehend If I carry out this order, The foundation of society is what I will defend But I cannot complete this task Ramsay, I cannot complete this task alone. You are the one I need Ramsay struggles to find words If you help me. . .our names will be. . .written in stone And for a thousand years to come Children will learn of what we did tonight,

They will see that you and I are the ones That sacrificed ourselves of what is ultimately right. But you must swear your allegiance to me Ramsay Swear to follow me with every step For I, am a member, of the Hierarchy Ramsay A power you know you must accept Ramsay In you I place my faith Noah Surely what you say must be true. But what is it that I must do Noah? Noah Lead me to grace, and do as I do. Noah and Ramsay see Grace walking away from the crowd and follow her. Noah attacks her. He and Ramsay hold her down. Ramsay is reluctant. Noah engulfs himself in the act Ramsay and Noah exit leaving Grace alone. This is the end of the night. End scene

Scene 8 Woman And so it is the morning after the night before. Much has happened in a day for the prince; Young man

Secretly rejecting the church, Drugs, music, and sex with a common girl, His best mates raping his future girlfriend Man If hind sight did serve him well He would see that close guarded secrets Are, for some, too tempting not to tell. Young woman And now again we see his poor mother Waiting for his return Her over powering intense love Is something that he must discern Mother again is waiting for the arrival of her son. Prince enters.

Prince Mother you smother me, My anger must be vented For the integrity of my sanityQueen Vent your anger then prince, I wish Id vented mine When my breast was raw from the gums That were attached to your screaming lungs, I should have delivered you back to the divine! Prince Your cheeks are wet With tears that are filled with regret And the reason your upset Is that you didnt kill me as a child? Your inner-pressing oppressive depression Is infectious and running loose and wild! Prince leaves. Mother is on the floor. Queen This blood I bleed runs in vain Not in artery, for I am forsaken by The one person that matters to me. My family tree, Is bombarded by debris That falls from the suns sky

she cuts him off

Queen Have you already outgrown The desire to be in your parents favour? I can no longer tolerate this deceitful behaviour. Please honour me Prince And recognise me as your saviour You constantly hold yourself back with needless labour she holds him close, he pushes her away, she falls over and cuts her head

And systemically buries me All I have ever tried to be Is a loving mother-can he not see!? All I am now is a solitary banshee, Wailing to warn him of death And misery. End Scene

Paranoia is persistent in bettering you I see. I ask my questions out of innocent curiosity Prince Well since your curiosity is in full swing I take it you have other questions For this table That you wish to bring Vicar Oh yes Prince Your actions as of late Has caused the quantity of my questions To become very great Prince Ask away then Vicar, Ill warn you I may lie Vicar Then it seems within you Is where the power will lie Prince Your first question please vicar! It seems forever is when I have been here since Vicar My first question is

Scene 9 Church. The vicar is kneeling praying. Prince Enters Vicar Why is it That when the prince penetrates my presence The stench of melodrama Reeks havoc on my senses? Come in Prince My noble boy, Tell me have you successfully executed The plan you aspired to employ? Prince Your fakery fails to masquerade your apathy Vicar Fakery masquerading apathy? to self

What are you doing here Prince? You told me you would never ask forgiveness again Prince I am not here for forgiveness I can never sin! Vicar How ironic that you sit there with arrogance Yet claim to have every positive virtue Prince I gaze on morality From a different view Vicar Morality only differs In the eyes of the sick Prince Well from where Im standing You need a bucket! Moralitys fluxations are parallel to times Its impossible to decipher a definitive divine. Vicar You say defining divinity must be a sin But the obscenity I see is irony again You describe something as in-describable

You prove that something Is not provable Prince Id respect you more, vicar If you articulated you points With ideas that are real As opposed to bombarding me With stupidity and non-senseical spiel. Its time for your next question vicar, I regret to inform you It will be your last. Vicar My second question will be my last? Prince As surely as the present Will become the past. Vicar It seems blood and power Are parallel in rushing to your head Prince You will see some things Are left better un-said Vicar Rather than threat

Why dont you answer me instead Is the colour running in your veins red? Prince I waste my time Talking with this senile old man Vicar My last question price Concerns your secret plan Prince Ask away vicar Ill inform you if my senses Say I can Vicar Rumours are circulating Regarding your where-abouts as of late You must understand that The hierarchy controls your fate You must yield to them prince For there numbers are great And it is them that truly control this sate Prince I will not grovel and kneel At the knees of a self proclaimed hierarchy of man

Vicar The hierarchy is hereditary And soon you will rule this land Prince Must the sea of equality fail to wash against our lands sand? Vicar Can you not understand That the common man Must be ruled with an iron fist For his numbers are too great For the devil to resist Prince I will not be the sun In a universe of hate! Vicar You are the son of the king And resistance is too late For since before you were born We had mapped out your fate Prince I have one direction In which I wish to walk

I have no words left Of which I wish to talk. End scene

Ramsay How can I come to terms With the evil I did last night? Noah Evil is not evil If the individual feels its right Ramsay Noahs voice echos in my mind still Noah Then be still and accept that you have done no ill Ramsay But inflicting pain... That cannot be fair A duo, a pair Turning a girls life into a nightmare

as if infiltrating his mind

Scene 10 The park, evening. Noah enters. Noah Her screaming sound Waves through my body and mind Manic peace is found And congealed blood tells no lies Individual integrity is beneficial to man And I am forever protected by the hierarchys plan. A close eye on the prince is what I must keep To provide the answers the hierarchy seek I will gladly be a pawn In this just and fair game For ultimately it will be me That is granted personal gain. Enter Ramsay, opposite side of stage Here comes my less able partner in crime I will hide to see if his emotions are stable Or if he feels he has crossed dome sort of line

paces

Noah It was necessary Ramsay Comes out from his hiding place Think the Vicar, and the lesson he taught Ramsay I think of the princes face Gazing on a scene distraught

Noah I feel the princes grace Something you should not try to abort Prince enters Prince Green has turned to black Ive seen the burning back of human shame As attack on each other ends all gain and hope Now our neck is in the noose of the rope We must pull it from taught to loose to cope In a sea of hate we cannot stay afloat In order to be great we must board the boat That cuts through the waves of tradition and hate I shall not succumb to the power of fate As the hour is becoming late The waves drown you and I. I see myself standing as the outstanding fly Towards the holy palace of the sky But I see this paradise on earth Noah Explain how these thoughts were given birth Prince Through the hate of equality and mirth! The vicar has confirmed What I always suspected was true.

The hierarchy controls all of us Noah, This includes you. Noah Paranoia Prince Do not give into its grip Can you not see How your logic has been stripped Prince A guerrilla army Tries to harm me By spreading fear Your propaganda wont calm me Or make me think that its right I blink in the night And I know theyre watching me just out of sight Their spies are everywhere Spreading the fear Brainwashing minds looks at Ramsay So they cannot think clear Noah You feed us lies You patronize Prince You cannot see straight With wool covering your eyes Pull it away and see

Whats happening to you and me Victims of corrupt power we will be Must we forever and always Live through these days Of injustice and corruption? Noah I will not stand and watch this self destruction! Maybe its best they do control our lives I can see us blessed by abiding by their lies Prince Can it be that you are one of their spies? Noah hits Prince. Prince falls to the floor. Noah kicks him until he is dragged away by Ramsay. Noah and Ramsay exit. Injustice is inevitable In a society of class But I was certain friendship Would forever last. My friends forsake me in my despair Upon realising corruption is potent in the air Surely all thats left to declare Is that they are a part of this dyer affair. Mankind has the potential of such phenominal flair But I am continually confronted By the apathy of those who dont care. Grabs prince

Enter Grace, smoking a cigarette. She is walking from one side of the stage to the other. Eyes the hypnotize in the most humble of ways And mercifully thore cold dismay! Please! What is your name? Who should I thank for the eyes that so wildly tame? Grace My name? Its Grace. Tell me, do you always approach strangers With that melodramatic look Spread across your face? Prince laughs So Ive told you my name, No you tell me yours Prince My name is. . . .is Noah Grace Its Noah? Prince Of course! Grace Well then Noah, could you do me a favour And walk me home?

Its just the dark sort of scares me When Im on my own. Prince Grace, I would consider it a pleasure To walk with you from this place And I will do so with, A Princes Grace.

End of Act I

Act II Scene 1 Man And so the prince has met his grace. Woman These two lovers fates, Are hopelessly interlaced. Man Their predictable doom lies in wait. Young woman So; she thinks that his name is the name of his friend that raped her? Young man And he doesnt know that his friend was told to impregnate her? Young woman And I presume that they will find all of this out later? Young man No doubt in the theatrical fashion as we have seen, Only I fear it will be greater Woman Well yes, thats the long and short of it If you want to be so blunt. In fact you just sort of ruined the ending You miserable little Man We join our infatuated hero Woman As he basks in the morning haze of desire fulfilled, Man Blissfully ignorant of plentiful blood that will be spilled.

Scene 2 Church/Graces bedroom. Prince and Grace in bed, Vicar and Noah speak in Church. Vicar: You have done well Noah And will be rewarded sufficiently, Although I am still undecided on the princes fate In light of the news you have given me. It seems he is confused, And therefore wishes to wage war on our hierarchy We must open his eyes to make him see That this method of government Is beneficial to society. Noah

The prince is a danger. What if he refuses to see What if he rejects the hierarchys Magnificent company? Vicar Then he will be dealt with properly. The time has come for the king to be alerted About these pressing times. Deliver this to the Queen And they will know the full length Of their childs crimes. Deliver this letter Noah And do so with the up-most haste, For there is little time left, None of which we can afford to waste. Graces bedroom. Prince is getting dressed. Grace Why must you leave so soon? So hastily depart from the sanctity of bed? Come back into my warmth And upon this pillow your head And let my head lay upon your chest And fill your senses with the sweet sent you like best. Noah with you I am truly blessed And in your arms I blissfully forget the rest.

Prince Grace, I long to lie with you on this day and every other But I must meet with the vicar To appease my father and mother. You are too beautiful to look so sad. Smile and be happy my sweetheart. I will be back soon and hold you in my arms And make it certain that we shall never part.

Grace Its true I dont want to see you go Equally in truth I dont want to be left alone There is something you must know; I am a devils seed, thats been sewn. A weed that has grown into your life And emitted its deadly pollen To leave you swollen in strife! I have a womb bearing a bastard entity For the night before last Two bastards raped me! Prince Can you remember anything about them? What they looked like?

Think hard. Grace I can only remember pain, Pain that makes me never want to leave this room Such potent pain Will drive me insane soon. Prince Then we must leave this city And start anew For outside these walls Is a life for me and you. Grace How can I believe what you say is true Prince Because I love. Please trust me Grace I do. Prince Then we shall leave tonight and be guided by moonlight. If you place your fate in my hands Then in return I will place my love in yours And teach this child all he needs to learn.

But I must leave you now to meet the vicar So I do not arouse suspicion. I also fear that I must inform My mother of my decision.

Prince leaves. Royal Palace, Noah enters Queen is waiting. Noah Your majesty, Queen Noah Noah I have a letter for the king. Queen takes it from him Queen Thank you Noah. Pause I know what you have done. I am aware of the seed you have planted That will grow to destroy my only son. We must all serve our hierarchy Noah. We must serve it through struggle and sacrifice.

I came back to find you moments later But you were gone Prince Forgive me for having to leave the place Where you had done me so wrong. Noah walks past coming back from royal palace on to way to church, they see each other. Now I must leave for my time is precious Far too precious to spend with you Ramsay Please prince, there are things I must say to you. Prince I must meet with my mother, and then the vicar. Meet me here after if you wish to talk Ramsay Meet with your mother, why where did you sleep last night? Prince I slept with my Grace, under sweet moonlight. Ramsay is left alone. Prince enters royal palace. Queen is waiting for him. Queen

Prince, walking to church, is confronted by Ramsay Ramsay Prince, Prince, Must you ignore me And walk past me like a ghost? Prince For these feelings of frustration You named yourself the host. Ramsay Noah is the one that hit you If you remember correctly I pulled him away Prince Then into the night you disappear As quickly as dawn becomes day Ramsay

I hope you have come to apologise, For causing such physical and emotional pain, For since the last time you graced my presence Our relationship was subject to tremendous strain. You struck me down and opened my skin And watched with no remorse as the blood flowed from within. Prince Mother I beg of you, forgive my sins! Queen I forgive you, for our Lord would too. Prince I accept your forgiveness And now I must ask for it again. Tonight I am leaving the city, For beyond these walls there is no sin Beyond these walls I can live in peace For I do not wish to rule I cannot dictate pain and suffering He who can is a helpless fool. Queen Goodbye Prince, you have truly reached the point of no return. I can no longer teach you, for you can no longer learn. Church, Prince enters

Vicar Sit down Prince, We have much to talk about This agreement you and I have Has come to an end. This secrecy I can no longer conceal And your heresy I can no longer defend. Prince Your words are noises I cannot comprehend On what do your accusations Of heresy depend? Vicar My accusations depend on solid rock, Rock you have extracted from a quarry of hate First you reject my teachings and the church, But this was not what sealed your fate. You are rejecting our hierarchy In doing so you will destroy our society. But you can be our leader in years to come If only to our power you will succumb. Prince Must you bombard me with repetition Of your a-moral disposition Do not speak, now you must listen.

You claim to have a moral monopoly, You base your actions on moral authority, But you still allow people to live in poverty. You should not beat the masses down With an oppressive hand You should deliver unity to this land! Who truly feels the benefit of your plans? It isnt the poor It isnt the ones who need it the most It is yourselves, as you play a perfect host To a regime of oppression and terror most gross. Vicar This system of government Keeps all men that serve it united Its cruelty keeps the population loyal Terror may make the blood boil But it boils through fear and fear leads to love Compassion is blind, But power has the beauty of the stars above Prince Your badly phrased metaphor Has no beauty Nor does un-just Systematic cruelty. Graces room, Ramsay enters.

Grace Who are you? Why are you here? Ramsay You dont know me, but I am afraid to say I know you My conscience has persuaded me telling you is the right thing to do The night before last you were visited by two, One cowardly stood and watched, As the other savagely raped you. I am that coward, And I come to you this day To offer my most sincere, And useless apology. I am sorry I stood and watched, Watched him commit this this sin, I now I am trying to make things right, Grace Who was the other that was with you that night? Ramsay I am sorry Grace Redeem yourself by telling me his name Ramsay His name is Noah

Grace The Noah that speaks with the vicar? Ramsay The same. Grace You must go now. Go. Go. Leave! Be satisfied with the woe you have weaved! How can I be so wickedly deceived? Is he who promised me everything, Taken everything away from me? He who gave me hope Of love and security Is the same man That planted this parasite within me. This virus that eats away at my insides Is the spawn of the man who so bitterly lied. I shall not give another soul to evils side I must make his unborn die For my womb will bear misery If I let it survive! And so must end a short, troubled innocent life For I must tear a wound in us both with my knife! She stabs herself through the stomach Church

Vicar It seems to me you have confused your role in our society, A prince is not a law giver, the law giver is the almighty. Prince Worthless tricks may set up transitory bonds But only solidarity makes lasting ones Vicar Our lord is not a worthless trickster You must honour him And ask for his forgiveness to set you free!

Prince I do not need permission to be free! God and man are one sea Crashing waves of empathy Eroding away the rock and tree! When he is ready he will capture and deliver me Through my rapture to the vicinity Of his divine divinity And I will see Not what you have foreseen for me But an age of equality and prosperity! Justice will overthrow your hierarchy! Vicar

You have gone too far prince You have reached the point of no return Forever in hell is where you will dwell Your skin will boil, blister an burn Princes goes to leave And your beloved Grace will be the least of your concern Prince What do you know of Grace? Vicar I know she carries anothers unborn child. Prince How Vicar Her body is promiscuous And her love wild. Prince hits vicar to the floor, grabs him by the throat and threatens him with knife. Leaves. Prince, walking to Graces room meets Ramsay Prince Ramsay

What have you done? They run to Graces room. They find her dead. Prince cradles her. Prince My one true loves life has been taken, But by whose hand? Her womb pierced by a knife! Was this abortion planned? Why have you taken yourself from this world? Why is the innocent un-born damned? The ruthlessness of deaths scythe Proves there is no justice in this land. It is said man is born free, But the shackles of life weigh him down. The bells of redemption may ring But hate muffles their harmonic sound. He picks her up Come with me now my sweetheart, As beautiful in life as you are in death. I will take you from this place, And lay you both where you can finally rest. Church, Noah enters Noah Vicar, I carry orders from the king

In light of the letter you did send, Upon reading the news I did bring He did not find the content hard to comprehend. And so he places in you The power to do what you see fit, For he believes that you are wise and just And if the Princes life must be forfeit, Then it must. Vicar Thank you Noah, you have done well, But now I have another task for you; As you predicted the Prince has rejected Our glorious hierarchy In doing so he has proven What a danger he is to society. He seeks anarchy. Anarchy is an evil beast That will bring much suffering and pain We must put an end to this prince Before he can spark this ferocious reign. You must find him, and arrest him, and bring him to me If he resists you, bring me his body. Graces grave. Ramsay and Prince are digging a grave. Grace is wrapped in a blood soaked sheet. (Prince can hear her singing.) Prince stops digging and cradles her body, Prince

Reflected by a thousand ripples Warm rays of sun beam down Onto a shallow stream that glistens And trickles over rocks with harmonic sound This is where I will look When I wish to see you standing strong Continually singing in perfect harmony Your beautiful life song Noah enters with two guards. Prince goes to him, Noah hits him back and draws his sword.

Prince Armed? Noah I have come to arrest you Prince of the city! Prince In whose name Noah In the name of our glorious hierarchy Prince Ours? If it were ours it would not drive this wedge between us,

If it were yours you would not be forced to kill in its name, If it were Ramsays he would not stand here broken and weeping. If it were the peoples they would not suffer under its reign. And if it were Graces, she would not lie here slain. Ramsay I weep Prince, for Noah and I Are the reason Graces blood has bled. The hierarchy ordered us to rape her And now she lies here dead. Noah I knew youd tell him about the rape thing. Stop your jaw from moving Ramsay, Before I detach it from your head, You should be standing next to me But you stand with the heretic instead. We must honour our hierarchy, Ramsay For they guide us down the path of light Please, come and stand by my side And do what you know is right. Ramsay joins Noahs side, then stabs Noah in the neck. Ramsay then stabs guard 1, simultaneously Guard 2 stabs Ramsay and Prince stabs Guard 2. Both guards fall to the ground. Ramsay looks at prince, the falls. Prince What is this life that I have come to lead? The life of a slave that never shall be freed.

Rife grief causes my heart to bleed And into this pain, I must concede . But no. Not in this time and not in this place For my glorious death shall not be a disgrace It will be a testament to my love, Grace. It will enlighten my people And let revolution take place! I must sacrifice myself, For with the public death of the heir to the throne The hegemony of the hierarchy shall be other thrown ! Optional scene Royal palace, Vicar enters. Vicar Your majesty. Queen Do you know why I have summoned You? Vicar I do not want to dishonour you by taking a guess Queen I am well aware of your honour Do not attempt to impress

Vicar You have summoned me to see Weather I followed your orders correctly Queen Yes Vicar. Tell me what you have done. Vicar I have served the greater good By sacrificing one. The Prince is being arrested as we speak Then he will be executed. His words are strong, but his actions are weak. The people will forget him City square, people busy, going about daily business. Prince walks to centre. Prince My fellow people Listen to me this day. My fellow slaves/country men Hear what I have to say; You the people Are the backbone of our society You give your body, your mind, your heart and your love For the benefit of humanity

But you are enslaved We are oppressed By a monolithic hierarchy of men. Self-appointed dictators, whose actions only benefit them I call them men. But they are not men. They are monsters. Monster that strangle us with their greed! Upon us they enforce ignorance And blind us with false wants and needs. They enslave us, and would have us believe, That we do not need to be freed. They hold the clouds above us To shield us from the rain, But do not fear my people Do not disdain! The love hope hate and pain That you feel in your gut Has swelled up so much That it soon will erupt. That feeling is power, That you yourselves hold inside. It is the power of the people And that can never die! So I bid you now, fight on this day For the love of humanity So your children can say;

My parents died For the sake of, democracy! My parents died For the sake of my liberty! My parents united, And so I am free! The prince killed himself, To overthrow the hierarchy! The prince stabs himself. Black out Woman And so ends out tale Of bereavement, debauchery and woe. Man Into the tapestry of revolution Its themes have been sewn Woman The prince has martyred his own life And in doing so seeks change But the misconceptions of his suicide Wold to him, seem strange Young man Some people say he was a misled fool, Who didnt change anything at all Young woman Some people say he was a glorious man Who killed himself to spread equality though the land

Man But whatever is said Woman Whatever is written in years to come The radical reader will recognise his struggle Man And see a small piece of liberty was won. End
