Statistics is the collection of data and its representative or its interpretation. Statistics uses three means of comparisons through the data mean, median and mode. Statistics is a very broad subject applied daily in just about everything. It is applied in various forms and styles in many careers around the world.

One such uses for statistics is the assessing of risk in the insurance and financing industries, in other words, actuarial science.

Besides that, statistics is also used in other fields such as psychology, as quantitative psychology as the science of statistically explaining and changing mental processes and behaviours in humans, and also psychometrics, as the research on the theory and technique of educational and psychological measurement of knowledge, abilities, attitudes, and personality traits.
