To make them, cut the handles off plastic grocery bags, then, starting at the top of the bag,

cut a oneinch wide continuous strip, spiraling around the bag to the bottom. (Don't use the seam at the bottom.) Do the same with other bags until you have several strips. Tie the strip ends together and trim, then just use the plastic strip as you would yarn to crochet. This pair took about 20 tan bags and one red bag.
