I am currently doing BS(Mass communication) and all my majors are in english.i have also done my schooling from an English Medium School. 11. Personal Statement (Please structure your essays in paragraphs and limit your response to 250 words, or approximately half a page, single spaced) Explaining yourself is the most complex thing ever but let me make an effort. My name is Farwa Kanwal. I have done my Matriculation and F.Sc from Garrison Academy Quetta Cantt. During my school and college life, I have participated in many extra-curricular activities like compairing different events, acting, essay writing etc. These experiences have earned me confidence and an ability to communicate and express myself. Currently, I am doing BS(mass communication) from Baluchistan University of Information technology, Engineering and Management Sciences. I have always had a great interest in Media and Communication. I feel it is my kind of field where I can express myself and communicate with as many people as possible. I also believe that one can contribute to the social good of the society by being in media as it gives you a chance to not only aware people about the happenings but also help them. Even personally, I am a very outspoken and straight forward person. I like to be vocal about my thoughts and opinions. I also am very much keen to learn proper English as many of our students lack behind on this aspect. I also like dramatics and have been acting in many dramas in my school and college life. I believe that is another way to help and entertain people. I also have a desire to do social work in my country as Pakistan is facing many problems today. I believe that if I make a little difference to my country, then that would be the biggest achievement for me. I also desire to attend as many trainings and lectures as possible, because you learn a lot from expert people. Personally, I am a very patriotic person and being young, I have an urge to do something or the other for my homeland even if it costs my life. In future, I would like to prepare for CSS and make my career in journalism as it is the most dangerous, yet interesting profession in Pakistan.

I am currently doing BS(Mass Communication). As it is quite evident from my course of study that I have great interest in learning and enhancing my communication skills. I have been partciapting in many extra-curricular activities as well like compairing, dramatics etc. I will try to use my skills to contribute to my group. In future, this training will not only help me to communicate efficiently and be a good leader but also help me in my profession. Personally, It will increase confidence in me.

What might you do to help resolve this problem? A great issue that is being faced by my community today is that we are divided into sects and groups. We do not think collectively about our country but only fight with one another on petty issues of sects and caste. This problem has greatly affected our country and we are not prospering because we are not united. I will try to make an effort to bring people closer if I get some influential post in future. I will try to take my people away from such discrimination and remind them that UNITED WE STAND,DIVIDED WE FALL When you go abroad, you are representing Pakistan. Participants act as ambassadors for their countries. How will you fulfill this role? What qualities does a good ambassador exhibit? It is very difficult to represent your country and that also, in a very positive way. It is a great responsibility. I will try my best to fulfill this role by being responsible and keeping in my mind, the culture and moral values of my country and institute. A good ambassador should be confident, bold, responsible, efficient, a good speaker and communicator. Discuss the most difficult criticism you have received. What did you learn from it? Well, I have not received a very difficult criticism but personally, people have called me aggressive. I have tried to take that in a healthy way and overcome my anger. What are some of the negative ways technology and media affect your community? How would you combat these negative influences? The wrong use of technology and media affects our community and especially children. Technology had made us lazy and spoiled our children to a great extent, whereas Media has also made our community vulgar. We have become quite distant from our own cultural values.
