India is a country with 22 official languages and use of computers is fast spreading not only to create employment in the

IT sector but also to support productive use of IT in daily life - increase productivity and competitiveness, provide better quality of life, enable inclusiveness and strengthen democracy. There are various sectors where Indian language computing can make a substantial impact for their development. In India every government departments whether it is under or central administration, doing majority of their day to day work in local languages only. To avoid this unmanageable, unsystematic work process, now every department seek help of Information technology and advance computing system to make their work more systematic and productive. This may help them to avoid rework or unwanted. So ultimately save several man hours and useful resources for better productivity. The major Bottle neck between the computer and office work is the language interface. Because most of the applications and environments in a computer are in English language and all of their employees are not comfortable doing work in this foreign language. In order to overcome this problem we need to enable Indian languages on Computer. So we have to provide an easy interface for Indian language in which they can use computer and office work in Indian languages Objective of the Study: 1. To find out various areas where Indian language computing will make the work productivity better. 2. To study about how the lack of Indian language can affect their productivity. 3. To study about How Indian language system helps them. 4. To Study about existing computing systems in Government Sectors, Institutions and Organisations

and how can we manage to convert those into Indian language interface. 5. To provide a generic and if needed a customized solution to enable Indian language computing on their work place.
6. 7. 8. 9. Research methodology Research design: Conclusive and Descriptive. SAMPLING All items in the field of inquiry constitute a population. The respondents selected from the total Population for research purpose constitute a sample. A sample represents the total population. 10. There are two different types of sample designs based on the representation basis, they are11. 1) PROBABILITY SAMPLING- under this sampling design every item of the universe has an Known and non zero probability of being selected. 12. 2) NON PROBABILITY SAMPLING- it is that sampling procedure which does not afford any basis for estimating the probability that each item in the population has of being included in the Sample. It is done by convenience sampling method and purposive sampling method. 13. The sample size for this research project will be 50 and sampling technique used will be non probability sampling technique using convenience and judgmental sampling method. 14. Data collection 15. 1) Primary data: Primary data will be collected through a survey with the help of a Questionnaire. 16. 2) Secondary data: Secondary data will be collected from newspapers, journals, and websites.

Scope of the project: 1. To study about the various computer applications used in different Goverenment departments. 2. To study about the need of Indian language computing in departments. 3. To study about the how much cost will incurr while makeing a Indian language computing. 4. To study about security and vunerabilties of the systems. 5. To study about the solution they need, is it a generic one or we need to provide customized soltion to them. Chapter Scheme:
