Course Description
Fundamental Strength of Materials in Biological Tissues: Introduction to Viscoelasticity and Comprehensive Review
Topics in this unit include (but are not limited to): Ability to identify a given bone, ligament or muscle by name, anatomic, function or location. Recall the general characteristics, appropriate constitutive model, material properties, and adaptation Potential for organs and tissue studied. Identify relationships between structure and function in tissues. Analyze the forces at a skeletal joint for various dynamic and static human activities. Analyze the strains and stresses in biological tissues, given the material properties and loading conditions. Identify the appropriate viscoelasticity model for the mechanical behavior of a given biological tissue. Predict the overall creep and stress relaxation behavior for a basic visco-elastic material model. Learning Outcomes At the end of this course, students will be able to: 1 Knowledge Learning experience Assessment
