ON-THE-JOB TRAINING-FINAL REPORT (Interior Design, Furniture, Architecture)

On-the-job training program is one of the best training methods because it is planned, organized, and conducted at the employee's worksite. OJT will generally be the primary method used for broadening employee skills and increasing productivity. It is mainly appropriate for developing proficiency skills unique to an employee's job especially jobs that are relatively easy to learn and require locally-owned equipment and facilities.

Here in our University which is PUP they offer this program to those student in 3 rd year level as a requirement for every course. In our course which is B.S. Interior Design, we have 200 hours to take with the summer period. These hours divided into three categories: Interior Design covered 100 hours: Architecture and Furniture covered 50 hours each. We need to complete this 200 hours within the OJT period deadline.

The first company I apply was the Masterpiece Furniture and Interiors by Simbulan. It is for furniture category. My experience there was so quite why it is so? It is because Im the only one of their OJTs its very quite I have no people talk although there is; it is because Im too shy on the first day. But suddenly it change as days pass, I learned to talk with them especially to Ms. Charmie my mentor and also an alumni of PUP BSID. She teaches me everything about furniture the production, CADD drawings, detailing and specification. She also teaches on how to make a full size drawing. The experience was fun and I cant forget it especially when I visited their factory. I learned a lot there.

The second category I took was the Architecture in Best Partition. The experience was not like the previous one it is lot of laughter and fun thats because I have co-students take OJT there. The works there is more complicated its more on space planning. The common space they have was office space. There I learned a lot of consideration in office space planning thanks to them.

Lastly, Interior Design firm, I hired there just by luck. WHY? Because I replace their new hired OJT because this OJT was not taking serious he always take under time and absences without knowing the mentors. Thats why they call me and hired, this part of OJT was my favorite, I really dont forget this moment. I meet other students from Holy Spirit it was Cyril, Bianca, and Julie. Oh theres more its Jeri. Oh my Jeri. I meet her on my last 2 days in Grupo Santamaria that was the name of the firm owned by Maam. Nina Santamaria. Oh back to Jeri she is from UP Diliman. Shes cuteheheh oh thats enough.

My experience there in Grupo Santamaria was great. By the way my assigned mentors there aside from Maam Nina. Its Sir Archie, Sir Dexter, and Maam Joyce(I dont think that was the right spelling) they are also alumni of PUP BSID. Thats what the PUPians are, actually we almost conquer the LRI Design Plaza because of lot of PUPian working there.

They teach me there new commands in auto CADD, I really enjoy doing auto cadd, making details, sections and more. The best moments there was when we were

on site, its so interesting I learned a lot there and meeting some important persons most commonly the clients and of course the workers. I enjoy traveling on different places, entering in condominium units, its inspired me to study hard and wish someday I have this one. I meet also some of celebrities there in Grupo, I meet Jericho Rosales. He and Maam Nina are good friends. Oh theres one and I really hate it. Its KC Concepcion but I missed to see her its because im texting, thats why I didnt noticed that she passed through my side, its so sad.

Back on Site Visiting, we visit the Verar Residence that experience there was thrilling. Its because on the day of turn over there still more pending design, Maam Nina was so angry. But still we make in time although there still more back jobs to do. Others site visitation are the RDS Tile Showroom, Cailao Residence, Silva Clinics, and De Quiros Residence. Its so sad im not there on final set up of De Quiros.

Aside from there is also fun happenings with my co OJTs and Mentors. Are mentors are always treat us. ang sarap ng libre. Hehehe.

Oh its too long naI think its enough, the want thing I can be said now im proud to say that I finished my OJT with more knowledge about my course and Im thankful that I meet these people, all of them are the best I really dont forget them and im thankful that they exist in my life experience, im hoping someday I can work with them again but not an OJT but as an Interior Designer.
