How do we proceed with decontamination?

Under the Basic Policy announced by the National Government, the decontamination will be basically conducted by the National Government and Local Governments for public facilities, such as roads; by Municipalities for housing facilities: and by cooperation of community residents for spots with localized high radiation dose, such as gutters and drain pipes. Please feel free to consult with us if you have any question on decontamination. Contact: Please make inquiries on radiation at One Stop Consultation Contact (0120-988-359) You can easily check radiation dose of all areas of the prefecture. Website of Fukushima Prefecture

How much can we reduce the radiation dose by decontamination?

The effects of decontamination have been promising. Effect of decontamination Decontamination of gutters in the road After decontamination 1.6 Sv/h Before decontamination 13 Sv/h

Decontamination of paved covers of drain pipes After decontamination 3.7 to 4.2Sv/h

Before decontamination 40Sv/h

What are the regulations for radioactive substances contained in the food?
The foods exceeding the provisional regulatory value specified by the National Government are not edible. The provisional regulatory values are specified as follows. However, even if you kept eating and drinking foods exceeding the provisional regulatory value for the time being, there will be no effect on health. The provisional regulatory value Radioactive cesium / 50 Bq/kg Radioactive cesium / 100 Bq/kg Unit of radiation Becquerel (Bq) is a unit to express the strength of radioactivity. Sievert (Sv) is a unit to express the degree of effect on a human body. (Millisievert) 20:

Q. Please teach me about the Healthcare Control Survey for prefectural residents.
A. The Prefectural Government is undertaking the Healthcare Control Survey for prefecturalresidents (Basic Survey), in order to attend to the health of residents for a long time and enhance their future health condition.
Subject: All the residents (residents who stayed in the prefecture as of March 11) Content of the survey: To estimate and access the exposure dose from radiation focusing on the behavioral record from March 11 to 25. The external exposure dose will be calculated based on the information that you describe in the delivered self-report questionnaires about when, whereabouts and time span. Survey result: The result will be notified to each respondent.
