Life is healthier with Acesita Stainless Steel.

One of the most well-known applications of stainless steel is in household utilities. Products that are present in the daily life of consumers, such as cutlery, professional knifes, pots, and tableware, feature recognized advantages when they are made of stainless steel. Stainless steel is highly resistant to corrosion, thus keeping the products original qualities for a long time. Due to its nonporous smooth surface (similar to glass), it makes it difficult for food to accumulate and facilitates cleaning, thus preventing the proliferation of bacteria in utensils. It is the ideal material for applications where this contamination risk exists (it retains ten times less microbes than plastic or enameled steel), thus contributing to the asepsis and hygiene required for health and food handling. It also doesn't alter the smell, colour and taste of food and beverages, since it doesn't release metal particles, even if they remain in contact for a long time. Applications to this sector include:

One of the most well-known applications of stainless steel is in white goods. Products that are present in the daily life of consumers, such as stoves, microwave ovens, electric ovens, refrigerators, washing machines and dishwashers have advantages and recognition when they are made of stainless steel. Besides being an aesthetic, versatile and modern material, it features several attributes that make kitchens extremely practical. White Goods It is an easy-to-clean material and residues are removed in the turn of a hand, therefore it is very practical for cooktop applications. There is no need to coat stainless steel for protection, and thus it doesn't peel off with use. Stainless steel is highly resistant to soaps, detergents, bleaches and softeners, which are widely used in white goods, therefore affording long life to those products. It is a strong material, even when in contact with water at high temperatures.

Acesita Stainless Steel: it is so essential that it is difficult not to use it.

Architects and engineers have been using stainless steel for more than 80 years now, for several internal and external applications in civil engineering. Its elegant and modern look is ideal for projects that require quality, durability and strength, without giving up aesthetics. For these cases, stainless steel is the perfect option. It doesn't require coatings or any other protection against corrosion, and keeps its original look for a long time. It is easy to adapt to any architectural project, since it may be cut, welded and shaped according to the specifications of architects and engineers. Versatility: the surface of stainless steel can be bright, mat, brushed or colored, and it may be applied to plane or nonplane surfaces. Stainless steel can meet any specification, no matter how bold the project is. Easy to clean. Water and neutral detergent applied with a soft sponge are usually enough to remove dirt. For specific cleaning, see Acesita Cleaning and Maintenance Manual. Low maintenance cost. Several options for surface finishes (see the finish chart). 100% recyclable. Stainless steel is environmentally friendly. High mechanical resistance when compared to other types of steel. Stainless steel resistance is 20% higher than that of common steel. Therefore, lower thicknesses and sections can be used. Its low rate of particle retention makes it the ideal material for use in situations where rigorous hygienic conditions are required, as in hospitals and industrial kitchens. It has excellent applications in street furniture, elevators, escalators, lining panels, handrails, and pavements, and it has a very good cost-benefit ratio. Choosing the most appropriate type of stainless steel for the envisaged application is essential to obtain the best possible results in architecture and civil engineering. Even when it is hidden, stainless steel works beautifully.

You might not see it, but the most modern cars in the world use stainless steel in several of their components. And one should keep in mind that the automotive industry is most demanding with regard to the safety and efficiency of their products. It is used, for instance, in exhaust systems of automotive vehicles, a classic application spread all over the world by now. The specific consumption by Brazilian-made vehicles is growing every year, due to the tendency of car warranties to increase, which leads to the specialization on materials that are more resistant to corrosion, that have a good weldability and are easy to shape by mechanical means. Nowadays, the automotive industry uses stainless steel in ironwork and parts, exhaust systems, road tanks, catalysts, break disks for motorcycles, bus structures, rail coaches, clamps, fuel tanks, fuel and oil filters, etc. Due to Brazil's continental dimensions, the transport of goods is an extremely important issue for the development of the country. Recent development of new steels at Acesita, the current state of Brazilian industry, and the tendency to weight reduction, with its consequent fuel saving, bring good perspectives for the use of stainless steel in several implements and vehicles for the transport of goods.

Many other uses are being researched and discovered - it suffices to keep our eyes open to new opportunities. Acesita Stainless Steel: those who know about quality use it.

Acesita Stainless Steel. New applications each day.

The use of Acesita Stainless Steel has been growing at the same rate as the discovery of new applications for it. New alloys transformed Acesita Stainless Steel into a more competitive product with an excellent cost-benefit ratio when compared to its competitor materials. Today, stainless steel is an important element in sugar mills, winegrowing farms, beer breweries and other industries, e.g. petrochemical and paper and cellulose. Liquid containers and storage and cooling tanks are among the most common applications of stainless steel. In the food and pharmaceutical industries, Acesita's stainless steel offers a series of advantages, mainly for allowing for a high level of cleanness and for the possibility to preserve the original characteristics of the products, such as color, flavor and smell. Since it presents a low roughness level, the cleaning of tanks and other reservoirs is done more efficiently and at low cost.

Maintenance and cleaning.

Routine cleaning: The best products to preserve stainless steel are water, soap, mild and neutral detergents and ammonium-based stain removers diluted in warm water and applied with a soft cloth or nylon sponge. After that, you only need to rinse its surface with plenty of water, preferably warm. It is important to dry it with a soft cloth, in order to prevent stains. Moderate dirt / Light stains: If water and soap are not enough, apply a paste made of plaster or sodium bicarbonate dissolved in alcohol for household use (cleaning products that can be found in the market). Rub the surface gently with a soft cloth or a soft-bristle brush. Avoid rubbing with circular movements. Rinse the steel with plenty of warm water and dry it with a soft cloth. Heavy dirt/stains: Pre-immerge the dirty surface in warm detergent or in an ammonium-based stain remover solution. If this is still not enough, make use of caustic soda-based removers (used in household cleaning). As a last resource, use sapolium-like products. Finally, rinse and follow the steps for "Routine cleaning". Maintenance and Cleaning Guide

Tips.

Fats and oils: Remove excess with a paper towel. Clean with a warm solution of detergent or ammonium, and then follow the steps for "Routine cleaning". Fingerprints: Clean with a soft cloth previously damp in isopropyl alcohol or in an organic solvent (ether, benzine). Stuck labels: Unstick as much as possible. Wet the area with warm water and rub it with a soft cloth. If the glue resists, dry and rub gently with alcohol or an organic solvent. Never scrape the surface with blades or scrapers, and don't use abrasive cleansers. Rust stains: Their presence indicate that a fragment of common steel has been in contact with the stainless steel surface for a long period. Apply water and nitric acid at 10% with a cotton swab, keeping the area wet with this solution for 20 to 30 minutes. Repeat if necessary. Rub the heavier stains vigorously with a paste made of sapolium, water and nitric acid at 10%, using a polishing sponge. Rinse with an ammonium or sodium bicarbonate solution and then follow the steps for "Routine cleaning". Water stains: Wash with water and dry thoroughly with a dry soft cloth. Paint and graffiti: Use alkaline or solvent-based paint removers. Never use scrapers or knifes to prevent scratching the surface of the stainless steel. Widespread, resistant, and hardly identifiable dirt: Use a polisher for chrome-plated metal parts or a polisher for automotive paint.

Care / Recommendations.

Usually, the stainless steel used for the lining of refrigerator doors and washing machine cabinets has a colorless coating to prevent fingerprints. In such stainless steel components, it is very important to use water and soap or detergent only, and no other chemical products, due to the risk of damaging the protective coating. Never use common-steel wool to clean stainless steel products, since it can rust and stain them.
