Kouebokkeveld was truly blessed. From the moment our team arrived you could see that God had big plans in store. There were many amazing things that happened. God truly touched a lot of people in many different ways. I think the thing that amazed me the most was how disciplined the youth were. Kids from as young as 8 to 15 years old all intently listening to us tell them about Jesus and how he

died for us. You could feel the hunger the people had for God there. People looking for hope, seeking something to hold on to, and what theyre looking for is Jesus. The team itself was just as amazing! Each one hand picked by God to serve there at that specific time. It was encouraging to see each member of our team growing in their faith as well. Of course we had our obstacles, but

God was able to work through all of us and overcome anything standing in our path! It was an incredibly blessed time. GOD IS GOOD! Please continue to pray for Koue bokkeveld... the community, the farm workers, the youth, the JAMmers. Prayer can move mountains and we believe that through our prayers God will flip this community upside down for his Kingdom! -Charl

Koue Bokkeveld
There was a team of about 35 young people from about four different churches that went with us on this trip. Koue Bokkeveld has a main town which is called Op Die Berg (which means On The Mountain) and then it also has many farms with communities on the farms. We split the outreach team into four groups together with the JAMmers (young people from Koue Bokkeveld who are involved with JAM) and we reached out to Op Die Berg as well as three farms. The childrens ministry was incredible. We spent four days with the children and went through the story of Easter with them. At the end of the four days it seemed like the children really understood the Gospel through the story of Easter and they were really excited to go and tell others the story that they had learned. This is incredible, because it means that these children are going to go out and share the Gospel with other people because they want to share the story that they learned and the good news in that story that Jesus took our punishment in our place and that we can be saved if we accept that. Youth: In the evenings we spent time with the young people on the different farms. This time was really good and they really got a vision for using the gifts that God gave them to make a difference and to disciple others. Some of them also want to get more involved now with the JAMmers. We encouraged them to start groups on their farms. Plant outreach: Two men from Stellenberg church felt Gods call to make a difference and they decided to use the gift they have of planting. They planted hundreds of cactuses in cans and put labels on the cans with Scripture on it. They sent these plants with us and explained that these plants can be used as an entry way for a conversation. They gave us some suggestions of how we can link the plants to the Gospel, but then said that we should use our own creativity and let the Spirit lead us in using the plants as an entry way for conversation. This idea worked so well. The team had many creative ideas and many lives were touched. Here are some of the messages that the team gave through the plants (also using some of the suggestions that the two men gave us). Just like the plant is a free gift that cannot be bought or earned, salvation is also a free gift that cannot be bought or earned. When we accept Christ, the Holy Spirit comes into us and we must then grow to become more like Jesus just like these plants grow. These plants multiply and can give birth to up to eight other plants around them we must share the Gospel with and disciple others and thus multiply. Just like we take care of these plants, God takes care of us. There were so many ways in which these plants were used to start conversations with people, and the people were so grateful for the gift of the plants as well as the encouragement that they got through it. Some of the older people were really encouraged to hear that the plants came from two old men who allowed God to use them and it made these older people realize that God can also use them no matter what their age. There was one older lady with whom we had a conversation. She was very down and she admitted to us that she turns to alcohol for relief from her problems. We had a really good conversation with her and encouraged her a lot about how we might have many troubles in this life, but we need to turn to God in those times and look forward to the hope that is in the life after this if we accepted Jesus sacrifice for us on the cross. A few days later we went back to her again and she looked like a different person. There was life in her eyes and she told us that she wants to start turning to God now. We had another good conversation and prayed for her. It was probably just as encouraging for us as it was for her and we could really see God working in her. Leadership: There is still a need for leadership in Koue Bokkeveld. The young people are still pretty scattered and we can see that the reason for that is a lack of leadership. Please pray with us for leaders there.

Vosburg
At Vosburg we did the same program with the children that we did in Bokkeveld. Here it was also very fruitful. We also had good time with the young people in Vosburg although we did have a hard conversation with them where we were very straight with them because they were not focused. They really appreciated that we were straight forward with them, because they also said that it frustrates them when the group does not take ownership of making a difference in the community when we are not there. After this conversation they were focused and we pray that it will continue on even when we are not there. The plant outreach in Vosburg was also amazing. The people loved the plants and received the plants and the conversations with joy. We went to one house where a lady was taking care of her old mother who is dying of cancer. We gave each of them a plant and they were so encouraged. The old lady was afraid of dying. We shared with her what comes after this life if we accept Jesus and we asked her if she has accepted Him. She has accepted him as her savior and understanding more about what that entails really gave her more peace. She kept saying over and over dankie which means thank you. We used the plant in much of our conversation with her to explain salvation and also how God loves us and takes care of us. We told her to remember these things every time she looks at the plant. We then also gave her daughter who is taking care of her a plant and encouraged her too. She told us that she was really tired because she works and then she also has to take care of her mother and she does not get much sleep because she has to help her mother through the night. She told us that she was so grateful to be encouraged and that she will remember that God loves her and will take care of her every time she looks at the plant. We praise God for using two ou ooms (literally translated, two old uncles) to touch so many lives and for putting such a passion in their hearts for His Kingdom. I am so encouraged by these two men and always want to remember the example that they showed me God wants to use everyone to serve in His Kingdom no matter what your age or situation. -Thinus

Transkei
the chance to do it over again, I would. The guys that live in the Bambisana mission house were so good with us there. You can see that they are there for a purpose. That God is using them in such a powerful way to reach his people. One thing that I noticed is that they are not doing it by themselves, they are working together as brothers and trusting in God, leaning not on their own understanding. But we need to help them, continuously uplift them in prayer. It was the best first outreach for me. And spending time with my sisters in CHRIST was so good. Love you guys so much. -Victor

It was my first time to go on an outreach outside of Cape Town or my home village, and I absolutely loved it. The fist day I it was like I was home. It had its ups and downs, trials, frustrations, etc.. But if I had

Belydeniskamp 2012
We as JAM had the awesome privilege of serving along side Stellenberg church with their annual Belydeniskamp (confirmation camp). The theme of the camp this year was Pixels... And as the concept of a pixel was so beautifully explained by Anriette it made me really think of life, people and the many different roles we play. A pixel is one tiny dot that is joined together with many other dots (pixels) to form a picture. And only when light shines through the pixels will you be able to see the big picture. So until light shines through the pixel you wont be able to see the pixels true purpose. In the same way, only by the pixels working together will you be able to see the bigger picture. What an amazing, beautiful analogy to our lives and purpose only shining through with Christ. We had many activities, workshops, sessions and selfdiscovery bible studies. Our aim was never to force our opinions on matters the students were facing or situations they might come across, but rather to help them discover that God speaks and that they can discover the answers for themselves in and through his word. Many of the students came with many questions and I know that maybe not all questions were able to be directly answered, but for them to realize being a follower of Christ is a journey. And thats the beauty of it all... we will constantly be asking, seeking, finding. God is speaking to his children all the time in many different ways. And thats ok! So to bring this all back we are all pixels in Gods big picture and we all shine differently, but only when we allow him to shine in and through us and work together with all our different brothers and sisters will the world truly be able to see him. -Tessa

We dont yet see things clearly. Were squinting in a fog, peering through a mist. But it wont be long before the weather clears and the sun shines bright! Well see it all then, see it all as clearly as God sees us, knowing him directly just as he knows us! 1 Corinthians 13:12
