MAJOR PRODUCTS
Baileys offers a wide spectrum of processing
equipment:
Lucas Portable Sawmills. The Lucas
sawmill has been an incredible success in
the woods of North America. These unique,
swingblade sawmills handle all sizes of logs,
including logs up to 6 feet in diameter. This
mill demonstrated just how efficient it can
be during the 2011 Great Portable Sawmill
Shoot-Out when the Lucas team cut a total
of 417.9 board feet per hour at 16% greater
than the log scale.
Logosol Planer/Moulders. These 4-head
moulders turn rough-sawn lumber
into a finished product, often worth much
more. These ingenious
machines will surface all four
sides of a board in one pass, and
give you the option of several
hundred different knife designs
to make just about any shape
imaginable.
4K Dry Kiln. The perfect
dry kiln for portable sawmills.
This kiln will dry up to 4,000
BF of green 4/4 hardwood in
about five weeks, using only
450 kWh of energy. This kiln
uses an efficient dehumidifica-
tion process to dry difficult
woods with ease.
Log Trailers and Grapples.
We offer several log-trailer and
grapple systems so you can easi-
ly transport timber. These grap-
ple systems range from off-road
ATV sizes to 10-ton models for
larger trucks.

MAJOR PRODUCTS
Baker offers several sawmill models:
The Model 3665D Baker Blue Streak
portable band sawmill was built to handle
big logs and big jobs. It can saw logs meas-
uring up to 36 inches in diameter and 20
feet, 6 inches. Longer models available
upon request. The Model 3665D features
65-hp Cummins diesel engine and full
hydraulic controls for log loading, turning,
clamping, and leveling. Computer setworks
and a debarker are also available. Optional
power trains include 38-hp Kohler gasoline
engine (Model 3638G).
The Model 3630E Baker Blue Streak
stationary band sawmill offers superb
power capability with its 30-hp electric
motor. It is built heavy-duty and comes
standard with full hydraulic controls and
utilizes a 1-1/2 inch band blade on two 28-
inch-diameter band wheels. Power options
include 40-hp electric motor (Model
3640E) or 50-hp electric motor (Model
3650E).
The Baker 18HD portable band
sawmill is named HD for heavy-duty.
This workhorse comes complete with trail-
er tow package, attached drop-down legs
for quick leveling and easy setup. It uti-
lizes a 20-hp Honda gasoline engine and
can cut logs 30 inches in diameter and up
to 20 feet long. Optional hydraulic upgrade
now available.
The Model 18MBaker portable band
sawmill is a terrific mill powered by a 20-
hp Honda gasoline engine and is capable of
sawing logs up to 30 inches in diameter and
16 feet long.
The Baker Wood Buddy is an eco-
nomical mill with a 9-hp Honda gasoline
engine that can turn logs as big as 28 inch-
es in diameter into excellent lumber, ties,
and squares ready for market. The Wood
Buddy is a no-frills manually operated mill
with a really fine, straight cut.
The Baker Heavy-Duty Portable
Board Edger is the perfect companion to
the larger, higher-production mills. Choices
of power include gasoline, diesel, or electric.
The heavy-duty edger is fast and efficient at
removing the barky edges and comes stan-
dard with a tow trailer package so you can
take it just about anywhere. Stationary elec-
tric models are also available.
In addition, Baker offers the independ-
ent sawmiller accessories such as band
blade sharpeners, setters, Lenox
WoodMaster band saw blades, steel hop-
pers, slab racks, dead rollers, powered
chain, belt, and roller-style conveyers, log
infeed deck, cant hooks, stacking racks,
planers, and much more. Baker also offers a
full line of economical woodworking equip-
ment, including single- and double-sided
surface planers, 4-sided planer/moulders
and a 6-spindle, 4-sided moulder, and
much more.

I
T WAS OVER 35 YEARS AGO that
Cooks Saw began working in the circle
saw business. At that time Kenneth
Cook was a full-time preacher with a wife
and three hungry boys to feed, and so he
started hammering circle blades in his spare
time. He proved to have a relentless drive
for perfection at hammering circle saws,
and, before long, his reputation had grown
to the point where he was driving a 100-
mile-radius route and servicing sawyers in
three states.
His boys were also hammering and
replacing the circle saw teeth late at night,
even on school nights, and, as a result, they,
too, gained a tremendous amount of knowl-
edge about the sawmill industry.
In the early
1980s circle saws
began to give way
to smaller band
sawmills. It was
around this time
that Tim Cook
(second oldest)
developed the Cat
Claw Sharpener to
sharpen band
blades. Today, it
continues to be
one of the best-
selling sharpeners in the United States.
Due to its strong foundation in circle
blade technology, Cooks was able to transi-
tion effectively and early to the band blade
market. Starting by welding band blades,
Cooks Saw produced blades that would
hold up in the cut with no blade breakage.
Soon the business grew from 500 to 1,000 to
2,000 to 5,000, and then on to 10,000 plus.
It was from these humble beginnings
that the Cook family moved on to building
band mills, edgers, resaws, sharpeners, set-
ters, and more.

Band Saw Mills. We offer band mills

Sharpeners and Setters. Our Cat Claw
Sharpener has been one of the bestselling
sharpeners in the United States for years.
Its heavy frame and grinding motors, along
with the precision with which it grinds,
make it a favorite among sawyers. It is the
industry standard. We offer both a single
tooth or dual tooth setter. The dual tooth is
also available in both
manual and automatic.

Edgers. We offer
models with either 12-
inch or 14-inch strobe
saws, and 25 hp to 38

Resaws. Available in

Band Blades. Producing 500 to 600
blades a day, we offer any blade length in

The LT70 proved that it could keep up just ne with a mill 3,000 pounds
heavier and $5,000 more expensive. The LT70 sawed at a rate of 1,227
BF/HR with an edger, shattering Wood-Mizers advertised rate of up to
850 BF/HR.
The LT35 proved that it could nearly triple Wood-Mizers advertised
rate of 350 BF/HR. When the ofcial tally came in, the LT35 with an
edger was clocked at 920 BF/HR.
The LT15GO nished rst in the manual sawmill competition, sawing at
a rate of 701 BF/HR with an edger, almost tripling its advertised rate,
and nished ahead of the nearest competitor by more than 20 minutes.

heavy-duty manual band sawmills.
We use off-the-shelf parts and have
everything on hand as we are both the man-
ufacturer and the direct marketer. We offer
mills for custom sawyers, farmers, weekend
operators, specialty sawyers, etc.
Our EZ Boardwalk Mill is available with
a 20-hp or 24-hp Honda engine or a 25-hp
Subaru. It can be set up as a stationary mill
or used as a portable mill. The mill operates
easily with its angle cut feature that creates
a pulling effecta big advantage on these
heavy-duty manual mills. The lift system is
a hand crank with a torsion spring for ease of
operation. Sawing capacity is 40 inches by

duces between 50 and 100 kilns
annually. The company is the largest
provider of pallet kilns and firewood kilns
in the U.S. and offers a line of small to mid-
size lumber kilns containing all the bells and
whistles of large industrial lumber kilns. In
2009 Kiln-direct launched a new high-tem-
perature kiln for drying and heat-treating
firewood using either gas or wood waste for
heating.
Kiln-direct was founded in 1994 by Niels
Jorgensen, but its roots date back three
decades to Wooddryer System, started by
Valde Jorgensen, Nielss father. In 2001 the
two companies were merged at the North
Carolina location, where they are focused on

The new Quick firewood kiln comes in
two sizes, MiniQuick (6 cord) and
SmallQuick (12 cord). The Quick firewood
kilns are guaranteed to dry firewood in two
days, but many customers dry firewood in
24 to 48 hours to a seasoned product
(depending on the species and heat fuel
type).
The small lumber kilns are delivered as
one unit. They start at 8,000 BF capacity
and range up to 18,000 BF of 4/4 lumber
using 3/4 stickers. The midsize lumber kilns
are available in two modules, starting at
20,000 BF capacity and going
up to 30,000 BF for the
largest units. All lumber

Nyle builds lumber dryers for every applica-
tion. We specialize in dehumidification units
for good reasons: They are efficient both from a
cost-to-purchase and a cost-to-own basis, they

MAJOR PRODUCTS
Nyle L53-L200 are smaller pack ages for
those drying 3005,000 BF at a time. These
low tem perature systems are about as close as
it gets to perfect machines, being simple, reli-
able, and cost effective. The maximum drying
temperature is 120F, but the systems can run
at higher temperatures to set pitch or sterilize
lumber. Both L53 and L200 produce top qual-
ity lumber, with minimum capital investment,
minimum operating costs, and greatest sim-
plicity. These systems are used where speed
is less a concern than reliabili ty and
quality.
Nyle L300, L500, L1200, and
HT Systems are larg er systems
that operate to 160F and dry most
species as fast as conventional
com mercial kilns while providing
quality and reliability. Used in
kilns ranging from 5,000 BF to 300,000
BF, they offer all the features available on
the largest of the Nyle systems.
Nyle VHT is the newest development
in the dry kiln industry. They dry at tem-
peratures as high as 220F. These systems
are designed for very large installa tions
drying softwoods. For example, one sys-
tem dries 150,000 BF of spruce every 40
hours. These are large capacity systems for
drying softwoods at high volume.
Nyle Firewood Dryers use heat from your
hot water boiler to rapidly and inexpensively
dry firewood. Nyle provides coils and fans,
controls and plans to build a chamber on-site
and through computerized controls, to provide
documentation which is required in more and
more jurisdictions.

Nyle kiln-drying experience by providing
computer-controlled systems for heat-treating

Dual Tooth Setter. Suffolks blade setter
will set two teeth at the same time to within
0.002 in two to three minutes. It can up-set
teeth as well as down-set teeth and has
the capability to find the teeth that
are out beyond the desired set
point.
Urethane V-belts.
These belts are
designed to run
on any mill
with pulleys as band wheels. They are tight-
fitting, which eliminates 90% of the vibra-
tion in the head and nothing will stick to the
urethane.
Guide Systems. Suffolks guides adjust
for 1-1/4- to 1-1/2-inch blades. They support
and lubricate the top and bottom of the
blade. They will increase the quality of your
lumber, reduce the stress in the blade
(increase life), and increase the productivity
of your mill.
Accessories. Suffolk has a number of
items that are critical to any sharpening
facility, whether for individual use or if you
run a sharpening service.
Sharpening Services. Suffolk has seven
locations that will sharpen their blades as

In 2011 Suffolk introduced a new
1-1/2-inch-by-0.052 blade to replace their
current 0.056 blade. The new 1-1/2 inch is
designed to run on both low- and high-pro-
duction mills and resaws. This blades thick-
ness is a perfect match for the gullet depth
and width combined with milled and induc-
tion-hardened teeth. It will allow for
tremendous stability and overall life.
In 2009 Suffolk introduced a 1-3/4-inch-
by-0.052 blade which has a perfect balance
of width, thickness, and gullet geometry to
produce excellent run times, stability, and
great overall blade life. This blade is
designed to run on high production medi-
um-size mills and resaws.
Suffolk introduced a 2-inch-by-0.052
blade in 2004, which was specifically
designed to cut grade lumber on high-pro-
duction band resaws, such as the Brewco
1600/1800 and large band mills. This blade
has exceeded expectations and has given
customers both longer blade life and faster
feed rates over the bimetal blades common-
ly run on these saws. At approximately half
the cost of a bimetal blade, this is a true
moneymaker.
Suffolk introduced a 1-1/4-inch-by-0.045
blade in 2004. This blade has become the
companys most successful 1-1/4-inch blade
to date, running on medium-size band mills
and resaws, exceeding sales of the 1-1/4-
inch-by-0.042 by three times in the first
year.
